Welcome to the December 2025 exercise thread, in which we'll be entertained by some of our favourite festive Disney films and moments. Annoyingly I couldn't come up with a christmas film based alliterative word for the challenge title, so I've gone with Dashing as in "dashing through the snow" 🎶

Full disclosure, I may use the term "Disney film" very loosely and go with some films that may not have been made by Disney but are now owned by them...🎄

If you’re returning, we’re excited to have you back! If you’re new, welcome to the team! Here’s how it works:

Each person chooses a time goal and posts minutes towards that goal as they exercise. You can post daily or just catch up when you can. You decide what movement counts towards your goal - which can be a nice round total for the month, a specific number that means something to you, or a calculation based on a target number of minutes per day. Since December has 31 days, here are some common conversions:

15 minutes/day = 465
20 minutes/day = 620
30 minutes/day = 930
45 minutes/day = 1395
1 hour/day = 1860

One of the special motivations of our Disney challenge is color changing! Page one will be updated with individual and team color changes as we make more and more progress:

10% - Blue
25% - Orange
50% - Purple
75% - Pink
90% - Red
100% - Green

We’re officially starting this challenge on December 1st, but if you don’t find the thread until later in the month, you’re still welcome to join! There's no better time than the present to start toward your goals!! Just post your goal and I’ll add you to the list. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and to check out old threads to see what’s been going on.

Hey there! Last month my gym unexpectedly closed for repairs...leading to a Disney trip. :P Because after 13 days without the gym I did some math and realized that my yearly gym fees could fund a Disney trip. And while I didn't meet my goal last month (got to 803/900) I did manage to self-motivate to work out. Now I just have to work up the courage to tell my guy at the gym goodbye. 😭

I'm hoping not to lose ground on fitness, so even without the gym I'm shooting for 820 this month.

Raya - 61/820

Gym or Disney... that's a difficult choice 🤔😂

Afternoon all,

So our first festive film is one that I like to think is a good stepping stone into Christmas, as for me it's half Halloween, half Christmas - that's right, our first film is The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Produced by Tim Burton, this stop-motion animation blends frights and festivities seamlessly with some rather catchy songs.

Inspiration for the film came from a 3 page poem Tim Burton wrote in 1982 and after settling with Disney to make it as a film, took nearly 3 years to make, releasing in 1993. Did you know that Tim Burton didn't actually direct the film? Tim acted as producer however as he was busy directing Batman Returns, directing duties actually fell to Henry Selick.

Around 200 puppets were used in the film and Jack Skellington's puppet had around 400 heads. Sally however only had 1 head but around 100 faces, this was due to her hair making it difficult to change heads.

Did you know that 2 people voiced Jack? Legendary composer Danny Elfman was Jack's singing voice, but apparently his voice acting wasn't up to par so actor Chris Sarandon took on Jack's speaking role.

I'll leave you with the most memorable song (in my opinion), from the film and hopefully a starter for getting you into the christmas spirit:

First of all, how fun it must have been to grow up around your grandparents! Secondly, thanks! I did avoid the two long trials. Those started this week and I have yet to be called in. Having to call daily still stinks, but I think I've broken the calendar code and the next possibility for having to show up would be Monday the 8th. Looks like they try to seat jurors and start trials on Mondays here. Only 2 short cases this coming Monday and one short case on the 15th. Those are the only trials still left. Others have changed months or entered plea deals. I'd like to get called in now just to get it over with and stop the daily call ins so I can plan beyond one day at a time. I don't mind being on a one or two day trial. Just didn't want one of those first two and now I'm safe. Hopefully things go well for you, too.
Do you have to call until you get on a case? We only have to call for 5 days. If we don't get called in during those 5 days, they move on to the next set of people and we are done.

Morning all,

We're only 5 days into December and congrats to Raya, PollyannaMom and sophy1996 who have aleady hit blue!

:woohoo::banana::woohoo::banana::woohoo::banana::woohoo:

Sticking with The Nightmare Before Christmas, I learnt today that Sally was voiced by Catherine O'Hara (aka Kevin's mum from Home Alone, Beetlejuice, Schitt's Creek). I'm really rather ashamed of this!

Seen as we're transitioning into the festive period, today I'm sharing with you the scarier side of The Nightmare Before Christmas, focusing on Oogie Boogie, the movie's villain. He's the boogeyman, a burlap sack full of bugs, and this song of his really used to scare me when I was younger:
