It's all smooth sailing from here... right? ALL DONE AND NEW TR LINK UP

I have left you all hanging far too long. WOrk has been one disaster after another starting with a new program registration system on July 1. Then changing all our employees to another classification which provides really no benefit but it does create more training. :confused3

Then in Sept and Oct we move to a new time system and well it is Aug 2 and we no more information other than that really. :lmao: Fun times.

Well last I left you was wondering if "my monkey" would be performing at the 10:30 show of FOTLK. I was heading down to what WAS Camp Minnie Mickey.

Some of the decorations from the area.

What will become of this?

A Test shot of camera settings before the show across the theater.

Finally the show.

Blurry shot but would that be my monkey? He always swings on the way out.

Awwww Nope.

I think Pumbaa was tapping his hooves or at least swaying to the music.

An action shot

The fire guy

These two came out pretty good.

Happy Monkeys

Hakuna Matata

Thumbs down???

Not my monkey ( Not be confused with not my dino)

I was a bit bummed. It had been quite a few trips and I have not seen him. That was the 10:30 show. A show I was pretty confident he was in. If they moved the show he is in, then there is hope, but really could I watch EVERY show to find out.

Now I had an ADR today but not until 3. It was only 11. Now What???

What a bummer he wasn't there. I hope you did end up seeing him. I know you have a favorite guy...what is the back story to that?

I guess it is really kind of funny how he became "my" monkey. I guess I would always attend the 10:30 show or the 11:30 and he was ALWAYS swinging out. He is also the climber so he would climb up all the others towards the end of the segment. I guess he stood out mainly for his enthusiasm and energy during the show. He nearly always goes in to the first couple of rows to high five the kids and goes out of his way to pay attention to anyone with special needs at the shows. During the last segment where everyone is singing and dancing the monkeys move around. I started paying attention after someone probably posted pictures of the show and realized they are out most of the show. I guess I seemed to get the same one a lot since I was at the same show often and he was the most enthusiastic and well..... photogenic so it was dubbed as "my" monkey.:rotfl2:

With no "my" monkey sighting,
I made my way out of Camp Minnie Mickey and off to try the safari again.
I passed an official sign of the Trails around the Tree of Life.

Some giraffes for my DISfriends.

And an elephant

The last reference to “little Red”

I got to the safari entrance. I believe the stand by time was still 10 min. The line was no longer out the queue but was still significant. With nothing else to do I did get in line. But I did note the time.
Time enough to make note of the birds in the queue

Time enough to make note of a very profound statement.

About 20 minutes later I had this required shot. Not a horrible wait but I was always amazed that the wait times were pretty accurate. This time I felt they were manipulated to seem shorter that they were.

Hippos

Open and say ahhhhh

On the move

Masai Giraffe

Reticulated Giraffe

The Mandrils are out

The big guy

Another North American Male – on safari. Sorry I just couldn’t resist.

IT is not blurry there are 2 cheetahs

Look Zebras

Blurry Lioness

A side shot

And look who’s asleep

In the zebra’s old spot.

I continue my wanderings around AK- what else shall I find?

Nice couple of updates! Sorry you didn't get lucky and get to run into your monkey, but it looks like the show wasn't a disappointment. Lots of great pictures and lots of other fun characters at the show you made. :goodvibes There are so many subtle and wonderful hidden treasures at CMM. Like you, I wonder what is going to happen to it all. :scared:

As usual some really good safari pics! :thumbsup2 Not very often the mandrills are out. And super that you got to catch the lion AND the lioness! :woohoo: Looks like she was focused in on those zebras the way your pictures are ordered. :rotfl: And nice job getting both the reticulated AND the masai giraffes! :thumbsup2

North American Male.......... :sad2:

What will become of this?

This is so cool! I have never seen it in person. I am not even sure where it is except I know its SOMEWHERE near the old FOTLK. I'm sorry I've only ever seen pictures of it.

Do you think you Monkey no longer works there? I wonder what the turnover rate of monkeys is? :rotfl:

I know you are returning the world in just a few days so HAVE TONS OF FUN!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Sorry that you didn't have a monkey sighting. :sad1:

So that sign for the trails near the Tree of Life is new? Interesting.

Nice job getting a picture of a croc on the move, you don't usually see that. Most of the croc pictures from the safari look pretty much alike. 'Cept for this one! :thumbsup2

Another "North American Male" joke? Are we going to have one in every chapter? Sheesh! ;)

No Monkey that time..... My favorite show and a must do for me.;) I have seen many shows with other Monkeys but I did wonder what happened to him.

What I like about the safari is that it is never the same twice. I snap what I can get and like when different animals to show up. :cool2:

Just a few more days and we get to go back!!!! :cool1:

Those rocks were to the right going over the bridge towards Camp Minnie Mickey. Can't get down there anymore now and I will be curious to see if it is still there when the area becomes transformed.

I have seen more or less the same Monkeys for years. I was a bit determined to find out so stay tuned.

Yup I am leaving Friday early for another drive down. Roadblock aside I hope it is smooth sailing. My goal is to at least put though the NYE show before I go. :thumbsup2

I was quite determined to find out if he was still performing.
I was glad they finally put up signs for the trails. That one was right before the bridge to Africa.

Yes the croc was on the move. It was cool so maybe that was why the crocs were moving around.

What can I say? The North American Males were out and moving about too!!!

Just when I think I've seen everything...I've never seen that before.

I was a bit bummed. It had been quite a few trips and I have not seen him.

Uh oh. Hope that doesn't mean what I think it means.

Another North American Male – on safari. Sorry I just couldn’t resist.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

And look who’s asleep

:eek::faint:

I, for one...love to see the North American Male active! :lmao:

:lmao::lmao:I would have to agree.

Good luck? :confused3

I have been saying that too.:rotfl2: Did I mention that we got notified we area also getting a new phone system complete with new phone numbers. Now if we need help we don't even know what number to call. :lmao:
It's like having a brand new job...

Just when I think I've seen everything...I've never seen that before.

I hope you get to again. It was down on the right by the bridge as you get down into Camp Minnie Mickey.

Uh oh. Hope that doesn't mean what I think it means.

Well he wasn't in that show.

See it never gets old. :rotfl:

I know ...right? Shocker.

Better take a look now, because football season will be starting soon. ;)

If she is looking at the TV those guys move around a lot. If she looks around the living room maybe not so much. :rotfl2:

After a pretty good safari even though the posted wait time was wrong, it was time to try Everest again. I walked on over and saw this.

If I am looking at it right, this was the end of the line for FP+ at Everest. Once again the standby was long and the single rider was either not running or long as well.

I kept wandering

Made my by Dinoland to try Dinosaur- standby was like 40 minutes. Nah, not in the mood. :(

While contemplating my next move I see this.

Then I see this.

Seemed appropriate.:rotfl:

A wide shot.

I had a 3 something ADR at Yak and Yeti. Wasn’t feeling like staying so I walked over to see if I could get seated early. Worth a try but I was not really hopeful.

Well they were able to seat me early. :cool1: :)

And the chef came out to discuss allergies and I had the Shrimp and broccoli, ( obviously) not sure if the broccoli was a sub or not. You can see my Yak attack there. I enjoyed my lunch. Everything was good and would easily eat here again.

With lunch moved from 3 to 1 pm, I was done about 2. I am sure I was checking MDE app and trying to figure out what to do. I wanted to see the parade knowing it was going away soon. I was originally hoping to get a window seat and see the parade from the second floor, but hey this is me going with the flow. I am guessing EE was still a long wait and I had given up on it.

Not Stopping yet... :)

Nice pics of FOTLK.
Nice safari pics. You keep finding those native North American males. LOL
That is one long line for FP+.
MMM, I could go for a Yak Attack now.

Pat, you're famous for your garbage can pictures and bathroom pictures. But with this shot of the service dog potty, you have outdone yourself. :worship:

So I did the unthinkable.

I had enough time to scoot back down to Camp Minnie Mickey. :goodvibes

I was Monkey hunting.

Camera setting shot

He looks familiar to me.

Can you tell?

Guess what?

I found you!!!!

The many monkey faces :rolleyes1

Oops I missed – or did I?

Enough of that on to FIRE

Trying to get the Bird but look who snuck in. :)

Well dang I was on a roll

I was so glad I went back. My mission was complete.

As I went back outside I really wanted to take in the whole area knowing it would be forever changed when I returned.
This would be gone.

I had to visit the bathroom of course.

AND MORE ...

One last look at the trees, Tigger seemed new to me.

I guess I thought I had pictures of all the others, which I do.

I made my way out of Camp Minnie Mickey. I saw evidence of change.

I found a spot near the front for the parade. And spotted some kangaroos.

Have I said lately how much I love my zoom?

Snapping while waiting

Look who showed up to watch the parade.

And now a parade. Hope the Jingle Jungle comes back after all the construction is done.

More Parade

One of the brothers ( I think) I see often in this parade.

I love all the stockings and the Nice and Naughty list.

I am sure he was excited to be picked for the parade.

And with that it was back to Beach Club for a little bit so I would be able to ring in the New Year. party:
