It's all part of the plan... More or less! A Dec TR!

I knew I would surprise you all with that post, so soon after the other! :lmao:

What a wonderful evening. Bless little Brendas heart.
That carrotcake exclamation by Gavin is so funny. I bet he would have me in stitches if I met him. He has the best expressions.
I am so happy you had a wonderful first day at MK.
Gavin can be such a hoot sometimes. Both kid's sure can make you laugh sometimes. The whole carrotcake thing was just so funny.

Tam, what a very special evening you all had. The dinner at CRT seems to have been a hit, you saw the castle beautifully lit, you saw my favorite show -- Wishes, you met wonderful DISer's, Gavin found carrot cake and fell in love and sweet Brenda's wish was just beautiful.
The dinner at CRT is worth the 2 credits. I know it sometimes gets a negative review but it was an amazing dinner for us, and so very special. It was an amazing day all around. Its one of the days where you wish the movie groundhogs day was really... and that it would just play over and over... and over... and over...

I love your updates...no matter how long I have to wait for them :). You usually make me teary eyed over something.

I took my girls to the breakfast in Cinderella's Castle (the boys went to a water park). One of my favorite Disney World memories is my oldest daughter making her wish and then opening her eyes, looking around and saying, "Nothing happened. Mom, nothing happened!"

I have no idea what she wished for but she believed in it.

Merci

Thank you for your sweet comment. I can be such a sap sometimes. I think if Gavin's illness has done anything for me that is I cherish every moment now. I try very hard to remember every single instance of happy moments. I need to know that they will be there... even if, Heaven forbid, one of us is not.

I so loved CRT! I think it is a do again when and if we make it back. They whole wish ceremony is so cute. My kids were squeezing their eyes such as hard as they could. Too cute! So hoping Brenda's wish comes true!!!!

Everytime I see the Castle all lit up for Christmas, it just makes me want to go for MVNCP! I bet Brenda was just thrilled to be in the castle. I'm sure was Gavin awed to, he must just keep a good straight face;)

I have a wonderful pic of my Kadence when we ate to the castle making a wish, eyes closed tight with her wishing star pressed against her lips:cloud9:

I loved Wishes the first I saw it. It just seems so grand. It's my favorite show!

Both of the kids were amazed at the castle. They were so excited. Brenda more so because of the princess while Gavin was just thrilled to be in the castle. I think too by the end of the night they were so tired of pictures! LOL

I am a wishes fan too. I bought the CD to listen to but it seems that the kids are always asking to listen to it to go to bed... looks like I lost that CD! :lmao:

OMG... Gavin's mustache kills me. it just makes him look SO SERIOUS. I sat here laughing for a good five minutes... my roommates probably think I'm crazy.

And FWIW, my dad and I rode Dumbo when we went in November. He's 6'2" and I'm not slim (and he's 52 and I'm 20!), I was afraid our elephant was going to fall out of the sky! But it was something we "had" to do because we apparently did it when I was a wee child ;) hopefully you can go back with your kids in 15 years and do it again and have the same (embarrassing, memorable) experience!

Gavin did look so cute with the mustache. He looked so serious and grown up sometimes you would forget he was just 3. A lot of people we came acrossed in the park commented too.

I know Jon and I never would have been able to ride together! :rotfl: That has me laughing just thinking about it!!!:lmao: Poor Dumbo would have come to a halt and just croaked right there. Thank goodness Brenda is a tiny thing! :rotfl: I hope when Brenda is 15 we can go back and ride again... I hope to make it back before than too!

The pictures were fantastic!! I could look at pictures of your children all day long.

I am such a sap, I was in tears reading this installment. You don't have to thank us, we were happy to help out . I am kicking myself for not getting a picture with all of you!! I am such a bad DISer.

You and Jon are such a wonderful couple, the kids were so sweet. We are so blessed to have connected with you here on the DIS and were ecstatic that we could help you with MVMCP.

The "THEY HAVE CARROT CAKE" phrase will be something I will never forget. It was hilarious.

I believe that one day we will meet up in WDW again :goodvibes. You have to have dreams.

I am having a busy day today but I just wanted to hop on and ask you all to keep Gavin in your thoughts and prayers. He has surgery in the morning. I will try to post an update on him when we get home from the hospital. I will also most likely post to Facebook when he comes out. Surgery is at 10:15 (EST) so he should get out around 11:30-12 (EST).

Everytime I read an update of yours I get all teary eyed!! I am so glad you had such an awesome first day. Dumbo is always our first ride too!!! CRT would be an amazing surprise for a little girl!! Seriously, everytime you write an update, I can really feel how much you appreciated everything and really treasured each moment. It's so awesome!

And Brenda, my gosh, she is gorgeous. the dress, hair and her. Just beautiful. We also plan to eat in the castle for dinner in October, so glad to hear it was a magical time!!!

I cannot wait to read about the rest of your amazing trip with you two special little kiddos. :thumbsup2

Hi, I am somewhat new to the TR's....I came across yours and have loved following along. Your kids are the cutest and I wish mine where that age again. I hope all went well with Gavin's surgery today and sending prayers your way!!!

I have so been meaning to stop in and leave you all an update about Gavin's surgery on Monday. Things have been so hectic and I know many of you are friends with my on Facebook.

Monday was a really rough day. Gavin went into surgery and it ended up taking about 30 minutes longer than planned. All I was told was there were some minor complications. I know 30 minutes doesn't seem like a long time till its your child in surgery... then it feels like an eternity.

Being a child, we are allowed to go right into the recovery room with him to wait till he wakes up. If he doesn't see Jon or I first thing he freaks. So the dr is taking his old sweet time walking us to the recovery room. Usually we are almost in a run pace, or at least it seems that way. But this time he is walking, and every once in a while he actually stops and talks. I am thinking "What are you doing, get me to my baby!" but I am nice about things. He stops at the door and tells us that we may be surprised when we see Gavin this time. He goes on to say that they are having some issues with Gavin's oxygen levels. And that the breathing team is in there regulating things. Then he goes on to say that they are also having some issues with his heart rate being too high. Seems that when one was normal the other is way off. When we go in he is so completely pail and looks like he has been fighting hard. When we go in his room his heart rate is running in the 250s. Once he heartrate is ok then his oxygen level drops into the 70s. They have him on 10 Liters of Oxygen which is a HUGE amount for such a little body. I haven't been this scared since he was born. There is a pulmonary specialist, member of the breathing team and 2 nurses in the room at all times. The surgeon is coming in between every surgery he completes. He has to stay on schedule with his other patients too and I understand that. It was so scary. The numbers slowly started to level out. It took about an hour and a half for the numbers to get to a level where the specialists would leave the room. The nurses never left.

It was so scary and such a long hard day for us. He did eventually level out close to normal and regained some color. They debated on him coming home that night and after all of them talked decided that it was fine, but alerted our local hospital that he may have to go there that evening if we run into issues. They would then transport him to the much larger hospital where surgery was done. They had him eat popsicles and things to make sure that the O2 level wouldn't drop when he was doing other things.

I was really hoping to be home by 2 that day. That would have been plenty of time since he usually is only in recovery less than an hour. But we ended up getting home closer to 7:30. I was just glad we all got to come home.

As of today, things are going pretty well. He still is in a lot of pain this time which is unusual but I have been told that its not too far off the mark. He is unable to sit on his behind from all the pay so he does a lot of laying around to play. Thank goodness for all the Cars and Lego. He is able to play those without any problem while he lies on his belly. Each day things should get a little better for him.

I still go in to his room in the middle of the night about every 30 minutes to make sure he is breathing and no issues. Brenda has a nasty cold and I have a feeling she has shared it so we will be keeping an eye on that too.

I am so thankful for all that thoughts and prayers that were sent our way. We are sure that is what pulled Gavin's health back for us. It just seems that soon after I posted on Facebook that Gavin was having issues, he started to improve... SLOWLY.

I think when he is older I am going to scary the daylights out of him after everything he has put me through! LOL :rotfl:

Tam, glad to hear he is improving. After you posted about the oxygen, I got worried too and kept waiting for an update. I hope Brenda didn't/doesn't pass him her cold because he doesn't need that. You just keep taking care of those precious children of yours...AND YOURSELF too.

It scary to think about your child having compilcations. I'm glad he's doing much better.

I think when he is older I am going to scary the daylights out of him after everything he has put me through! LOL :rotfl:

:lmao: Just embarass him, ( you know, you & DH kissing in front of him, calling him your little sweetums in front of his friends, or my all time fav; hugging & kissing on him in front of friends) that will do it :thumbsup2

So glad to hear that Gavin is home. Hope that the healing process goes smoothly and as a parent of a child of multiples surgeries also...make sure during this time that you take care of yourself!!! Even if it is for a few minutes. Also, hope that Brenda gets better also.

Wow, I am so glad everything is getting better! I'm sorry it was so complicated this time. Did they have any idea why it wasn't as smooth as the last surgery? I know what you mean about when it's your child and it takes longer than planned, you heart literally stops! When Jack had his surgery last summer, everything went fine, but it took him a looooong time to wake up. I think I was literally holding my breath while my dad and the nurse kept trying to wake him up. I am keeping your family in my thoughts!!!

Oh Tammy! I just read your last few updates - you had me laughing and crying! What an AWESOME first day at MK! :lovestruc The pictures of Brenda after BBB and Gavin after PL had me crying! They both look DARLING. I love, love, love Gavin's Pirate face and I just might have to look into that for Henry since he has become recently obsessed with pirates.

Your moment on Dumbo was another tear jerker for me. That moment is always so special. And even though we have been able to go often, I still get that moment every time!

And yes, Brenda, we can ALWAYS wish!

I saw your note on FB about Gavin, I'm so glad he's been improving. Hopefully all these craZy medical issues are ending for you guys!

Okay, just thinking about your last couple updates has me in tears again...LOL

oh my gosh, i can't imagine how scared you were. but so glad he is home safely and doing well. heck, i go in and check on William when he just has a cold a few times a night, so I imagine I would be checking every 30 minutes too at night after something like this. So glad he seems to be recovering well now. I hope he continues to get well quickly. Keep us posted and know that prayers and pixie dust continue to come your way!

Hi all! I wanted to pop in and let you all know we are still alive here! Things have been hectic as always. I am gonna try to do something with this trip report soon. I know, I know... I have made that promise so many times before. It seems like I tend to forget about the TR itself, until things are not so happy in life... and well, then it hurts a little to try to update. I know that makes me sound a little crazy but that is how things are. It just seems like we have all been through so much since the trip. So keep an eye out this week. I may post a bunch all at once. I have to have Jon show me where the pictures are now that the computer they were on crashed. Hope all is well with everyone else out there on the DIS!
