It's all part of the plan... More or less! A Dec TR!

Hello everyone!

Long time no speak! I know.. I know... you are all thinking that I dropped off the face of the earth. We had some computer problems with the computer that the Disney pictures were on. Finally that computer is back up!!! I am thinking that I might just post some pictures after our fall schedule gets back to normal. At least that way you get to see what we really did! I am not sure if anyone is still around though. So I may be posting just for me!
:lmao:

Tam, pictures can be worth a thousand words. And if pictures are all you can manage in a busy lifestyle, we will certainly understand.

I would love to see pictures! :yay:

Who wouldn't want to see Disney photos! I hate comouter problems. I've had even this year to last!

I saw your posts on jenseib’s TR. The links in your signature caught my attention so I started reading your PTR. I read through that entire thread and then read this TR up to this point. I have been reading like crazy over the past 2 days, but I’ve read it all. It has been great getting to know you and your family through your PTR and TR. After reading all of that, I feel like I know you. Brenda and Gavin are beautiful children. You and Jon are doing a fabulous job raising them to be so appreciative of each other. As a child growing up in PA, we never had the money to go on a vacation. (all of my family still lives in PA, btw) Our big trip each year was a day trip to either Sea World or Geauga Lake. We voted on which one we would go to each year. We could only do 1 park since we couldn’t afford to stay over night. I had dreamed of going to WDW my entire childhood. I remember my mom saying several times she felt so bad that I would never be able to go to my dream place. I was the youngest of 4 kids and I was the dreamer, and the princess at heart. When I see how much you sacrifice so that you can give your children a trip to WDW, it makes my heart melt. I remember being Brenda’s age and dreaming of the day I’d go on a trip to the castle. Watching her go on that trip took me back to that place when I was a little girl. I am so glad she was able to go to WDW and make such wonderful memories. It just goes to show what kind of person you are, that you sacrifice everything so that your family can have the best life possible. I have really enjoyed reading your story over the past few days. On a selfish note, I REALLY want you to finish this TR. Just because I want to see pictures from the rest of your trip. I want to see how the story ends. I totally understand that you have life events that are more important than a silly ol trip report. So even if it takes you a year to get back to this, so be it. I just hope to read about the rest of your trip some day. I’ll be cheering for you the whole way until you can take your family back to WDW, if its 2 years from now or 10 years from now. You have a lot of people on this board who have followed your story for a long time and really care about you. I can tell it from their posts how much they care for your family. And now I’m hooked too. So even if you can’t post often, please post whenever you can. Even if you are having a rough day and just need a pick-me-up. Come on and say, “Hey guys I need you!” And know we’re always here for you. I hope to hear more from you and learn more about your family in the future. It is rare that I get invested so much in a trip report, but your family has just caught my heart.

Oh Carrie! You are so sweet! I do intend to get back to this.

LIFE UPDATE--Brenda started Kindergarten yesterday so that frees me up some and Gavin starts Preschool on the 16th. Just 3 days a week for 2 hours a day. The only stipulation to allow him in with his health issues is I have to spend that 2 hours a day sitting in the parking lot with my cell phone. It is the only way he was allowed in with his disability. So, I guess I am ok with that. If he needs anything I have to go in and take care of it. Whatever it takes to get him into a good program. So I think I can use that time to get things caught back up here. I was thinking I could always type it and then just come back to insert pictures. The other nice thing is Gavin is much less "needy" as long as he isn't sick. By that I mean he is to the point where, when its a good day, he entertains himself with his cars and especially his Lego. He would play Lego all day if you let him!

Thank goodness I took the time each day to write about the trip while I was there. It makes things so much easier. I have to admit that I only did this because I scrapbook, but goodness I did! So stick with me! I will be back VERY soon!

I think Brenda looked very cute in the FB pics! She seemed happy to go!

Two hours in a car, I could that. Just think of all the books I read, naps :rotfl2: and of course getting back here!

Looking forward to more Disney from you:flower3:

You are an amazing mother. Your children are so so lucky to have a mom who is willing to give up so much to be everything for her children and give them everything possible. Sitting in a car for 6 hours a week may actually turn out to be very relaxing, but I know there are very few moms out there who would make that sacrifice for their children. I know exactly ehat TyTysMommy is saying, and even though I was lucky and we went to WDW as kids, reading your story and seeing the pictures of your kids (and you and DH) enjoying WDW for the very first time is so thrilling, and when you describe how you were all feeling, it is heartbreakingly joyful!. So whenever you can, finish your story, because we could all use a little more input from people like you in our lives!! :littleangel:

Tammy definitely gets the Mom of the Year award for doing what it takes to get Gavin into preschool.:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
3 cheers for you!

I loved the pics of Brenda's first day of school. When I dropped off Henry I gave him kisses up and down his arm and told him he could always "grab one" if he missed me. Your necklace idea-adapted. :cutie:

So glad it sounds like things might be calming down some as school starts! I hope everything with Gavin and school goes smoothly! And you really do get Mother of Year for doing what it takes to get Gavin into the preK program!! :thumbsup2

You all are gonna make me a sappy, crying mom! Really, it isn't anything that any other mom would do for their child. I just want Gavin to have so kind of normal. He is so excited. Friday is his first day! Its a day I get to spend the 2 hours in the room... not in the car with a phone in one hand and a changing bag in the other! :lmao: They have the following Monday off and then start into their schedule on Weds. The first few days I will be busy in the car. Gavin's birthday is the 26th and his party is on the 25th so I will use that time to get things put together for his birthday. Each birthday with Gavin is such a celebration... With Brenda too but thats not till Jan! :rotfl: So you should for sure see an update in the coming weeks. I know I have left you all hanging... just stick with me a little longer. I promise it is worth your time!

Brook--So glad the kisses idea worked for you! Brenda still wears her necklace A LOT. But if it makes her happy I am good with that... besides, it like a little part of me is their to comfort her all day!

Thats what Moms do! I bet Gavin has an amazing time in school, and soon you'll be shouting both kids accomplishments from the roof tops!

Have fun planning the party!

Ooooh what kind of party are you going to have for him this year? I remember how awesome last years Toy Story one turned out!! (it was Toy Story right? I'm not getting confused...)

You have a great memory! Yep! Last year was Toy Story. This year we are doing pirates!!! Gavin is so excited!

Yeppers! You guessed it! Its another installment on the TR. I know you all had some serious doubts about me getting back to it. I actually couldn't sleep last night so I spent the night getting some pictures uploaded and some thoughts gathered from my journal.

So now... BACK TO OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM!!!

This was a bright sunny morning. I was hoping it wasn't as going to get to chilly. Me, I don't mind the cool temps too much but I have more fat on the bones than the kids do. I had talked to some people back home in the morning and it was REALLY getting cold there. It was even starting to get cooler than normal at Jon's parents in NC. Oh no! I see where those temps are going.

So after waking up and grabbing a quick bite of YUMMY (not so much for the adults) Pop tarts in the room we were off and running. Where you might ask... Well...

I had wanted to post a picture of the 4 of us in front of the hat but my Photopass pictures are still missing. I have the disk so I didn't really lose them but I haven't downloaded it again.

Hollywood Studios of course! I had read so many mixed reviews. Some said it was a half day park. I must tell you that this turned out to be my FAVORITE park, next to MK of course. Nothing would ever top MK. We had missed rope drop just because we were running a little slower than planned but that really didn't bother me at all. Jon took off to get FP for Tower of Terror and of course Rockin' Rollercoaster! That is the great thing about having 2 kids along. I knew that Gavin was not tall enough to ride either and I knew that while Brenda would most likely love the free falling in TOT it wasn't a ride I was ready to let her on. I didn't want to deal with the nightmares. Call me over protective but that ride is a bit scary for grown ups. While Jon was off to get FP the kids and I caught a bench! And what should come by but the High School Musical kids. Should I call that a float? In any case Brenda was so excited and started to dance in the street.

dscf1109.jpg

Then Gavin joined in the fun... as it was moving on! But he was still dancing... just late!

dscf1111.jpg

This mornings theme was really all about the kids. Yes, there would be fun rides later for Jon and I... and No, we didn't do Toy Story Mania this day. But when Jon got back with the FP we were off to something a little more their style...

The kids were glued to the show.. and well, I was glues to watching their faces so I really can't tell you much about the show. I think they were getting ready for a birthday party for Minnie but I really couldn't tell you much more than that. I do remember some tears just watching the kids as I realized once again where we were. Sometimes in this trip I was just overwhlemed with the pure emotion of joy. I must tell you that growing up I had many great experiences but NOTHING compared to this trip with my husband and kids. It now breaks my heart that this will most likely never happen again. Anyway... This is how Brenda was the whole show!

dscf1148.jpg

Not the best picture of Gavin but this is how he was...
dscf1150.jpg

We got out of the show just in time to make it to our lunch ARD at...

dscf1191.jpg

The kids are big fans of the morning shows. I think this is one thing that Brenda is missing at Kindergarten. Yes, perhaps I let them watch too much TV but it was an easy way to keep her occupied while I take care of Gavin's medical needs. Also, I am one of those people that I MUST have some noise in the background. And what better noise than the Disney channel! :rotfl:

We didn't have to wait long at all and were seated rather quickly. In fact, I had called home to my Aunt about a sick relative and didn't even find out any info before we were being taken to a table.

The kids had no idea who they would be seeing here so when this first guy came to our table I think you could have picked Brenda's jaw up off the floor. I wish I had gotten a picture of that.

dscf1173.jpg

I heard the "mom, mom!!! Its OSO!!!!!" a thousand times. He came just as we were getting in our booth. Soon behind came one of Gavin's favorites....

dscf1175.jpg

Then last came the Little Einsteins!

dscf1184.jpg

The kids had a great time dancing and interacting with the characters and hosts that at times it was hard to get them to sit and eat... But I knew that in the end they would eat when they got hungry. So I left them dance...

I had heard such bad reports on the lunch buffet here that I was worried. I was really pleased. I am sandwich eater though and the sandwiches at Hollywood and Vine were pretty yummy! All in all I was a fantastic experience for us. When we left the kids were so over the top happy and thought I was the best mom ever! :lmao:

So... what do we do the rest of our afternoon??? I guess you'll have to come back and find out soon!

Wonderful update! I love the looks on their faces. And Gavin with Handy Manny is so cute. He has such a serious face. That kid has the funniest faces, he just cracks me up all the time.

Tam, what a great update. I love Brenda and Gavin dancing while HS Musical goes by. And you can jsut tell how captured the kids are with the Playhouse Disney Show and enjoying the character interaction and dancingi there as well. This was worth the wait.
