It's all about the shopping... with Wigd and Shocker

Before I do replies I'm going to update....

We woke up bright and early on Christmas morning. Tusker House was calling with our breakfast.

We dressed and scurried out to the car and drove over. It was so nice not waiting for a bus, we quickly parked and hurried to the waiting shuttle.
Before we knew it we were walking up to the entrance.

We had a bit of time before our ADR so we decided to take advantage of the low crowds at the park to grab fast passes and check out the walk on time for EE.
This is what we found.

IMG_0937.jpg

We grabbed our passes and walked on. Rode front seat and then rode again.

After our EE rides we made our way to Tusker House and checked in. With no wait at all we were called back and our photo was taken.

We were seated, grabbed some food, and the characters started coming.

My plates.

Marc and I knew that Mary (Maryaz) and family was eating at TH the same time as us so we kept an eye out for them. Before we headed out I spotted them and went over and said hi!
Here's Mary, Cayley and I.

That was just fine because we weren't going there anyway....

We headed for the tram and that's were the drama began.

NOT Drama!!!!!! EEEEKKKKK!!!!!! Love all the character photos! LOVED your details about your EE rides---what a nice Christmas treat!

Oh Anita, you brought me right back to our Christmas morning spent at AK. We had almost identical itineraries! What a wonderful morning that was :cloud9:

You've got me worried about the drama!

Christmas Morning at AK. :cloud9:

Drama on the tram!!!

Ah, I just love seeing the Animal Kingdom tree and all the little trees at Camp Minnie Mickey! Someday I will see them in person! :goodvibes

Christmas breakfast with Disney pals - very nice!

This coming Christmas, breakfast will still be at home, but by dinnertime, we'll be in Disney World. Makes me want to book an ADR for a character dinner for that day. That would be very cool for the girls.

Cliffhanger! But what would Christmas day be without a little drama?

I had never heard of the "character trees" in AK... I will have to remember that! Very cute!!!

But....but....what....ummm....why would you leave us there LOL!!!!!! A cliffhanger, a good cliffhanger...oh why oh why...I'm telling you know I'm hearing this story one way or another this weekend LOL!!!!!!!!

Loved Animal Kingdom all decked out in its Christmas glory!! How beautiful!!!! I love the pictures of you and the characters!! You look so happy and must be having a great time!!!!!!!

Can't wait to read more!!

I did not realize they have character trees either.

What a cliffhanger.....something to do with the rental car I am thinking...??

So, now I have to log into the Dis even more frequently...can't wait...

I love that they have a sign to let you know about MK being filled. It would be awful to not know and park hop there!

Thanks for the pictures of the trees. Very cool!

You can just take one of your rolling suitcasess to the park for wardrobe changes!!!! The small Mickey one, of course!!!!
That might be a bit cumbersome, I think we'll put them in a bag and stash them in the stroller!
Yeay for Baylor being in for the entire trip!!!

Love all the clothes for Harper and your dress is gorgeous!!! The wedding is less than two weeks away, right?

That beach towel is hysterical! I may have to get one for Connor -- that is his humor right there! :
We did mention Baylor flying down and he seemed a bit nervous about that idea.
I think he really wants to see Connor too!
The wedding is a week from Saturday!
Disney is coming really fast!
Isn't that towel hilarious?
You found some great stuff! Love all the cute things for Harper!
Really none of our DIS kids know how lucky they are!
Wow!! What a successful shopping trip. The beach towel is too funny. Love, love, love all the princess dresses. What a lucky girl Miss Harper is. She's going to be like Ann what'shername with all the wardrobe changes she made on the Oscars.

Luggage is very cool! It will be easy to spot coming off the carousel!

Your dress for the wedding is beautiful!
Yes, the shopping was quite the success!
I was really happy with our purchases and I can't wait to get the wedding checked off our list so we can get to Disney and have some real fun!

We are going to have some crazy wardrobe changes. How about under the table at Akershus?
I  my new luggage, I wonder what it will look like after one flight?
Your dress is very pretty and I LOVE the luggage!! My TJMaax had one little fairie suitcase and that was it as far as Disney goes :sad2:

You should name your next trip report "It's all about Harper" :goodvibes that is one lucky little girl! I can't wait to see pictures of her in all those princess dresses! They are adorable!
It will be all about her this trip and one day about Baylor since Marc has the big surprise for him! I'll keep Harper busy that day!:goodvibes
No pretrip started yet! I do plan to start one hopefully this weekend. Thought I might recap last years summer trip in it since I never started the actual trip report. I will let you know when I do.

Erika
Thanks Erika, I'll try to be watching!
Hey Shocker, I think somebody is calling for YOU????? :

Yes, Harper is going to be the best dressed princess at Disney, but I must admit I for one am NOT surprised!! I knew she would be decked out for the entire trip!! Poor Baylor, one little beach towel, that does seem a little sad for my buddy!! :sad2: Then again, I guess he gets to hold Harper's hand and be her Uncle Prince!!! Y'all are going to have a great trip and it's going to be so much fun for all of you!! Especially, Harper if she likes to play dress up!!!!

The wedding dress is beautiful, but not one picture of Marc and his new suit?? Memom wanted y'all to dress up so she could see you all purtified....now she is going to have to wait until the actual wedding, just to see how well Marc cleans up?? What you couldn't get him to play dress up last night??

Well if he isn't going to play dress up, make him tell us all about the rental car drama......some of us are waiting for it........I know, I know......others wanted to see all the NEW duds and suitcases and veras and princess attire and...... (was somebody really shocked that it was all about the shopping with YOU??????) Maybe that's why he hasn't been able to share about the rental car drama......he has gotten yet another job to help defray some of the cost of all your Disney shopping??? :confused3
Really BD, who wants to see his black suit? I did pick him a pretty pink tie though. I'll show a pic that the next time we are playing show and tell.
Baylor was happy with his towel, but was disappointed that we hadn't stopped off at the KU store to buy him something.
He gets a new KU shirt all the time, but oh well. We will do that when we are at that mall NEXT weekend.

Princess Harper is going to be the best dressed little girl in Florida!!! What cute dresses, she is going to be so ADORABLE!! I can't wait to see her in them!!!! (As long as she decides to wear them LOL)!!!

Glad you found your dress!! It is beautiful Anita!! I also vote to see a picture!!!!

Hope you are having a great week!! My kids are starting to get that crazed It's Almost Spring Break time look in their eyes so I have to be even more dramatic in my room to keep them focused...but par for the course!!

Can't wait to see you this weekend!!!!!
This weekend is tomorrow!
I'll be able to show you everything in person!
Harper is going to be some pretty princesses! Boy, thoses dresses are beautiful! Makes me wish I was a little girl again!

I have got to find the Perry beach towel for Jeremy! He loves that show.

I hope you have a great time over Spring Break at Disney. I can't wait to see all your pictures.

Erika
There are going to be some cool guys with Perry towels!
Ok, the polka dot coverup with the ears is the cutest thing ever! I need to head to our Disney store and see if they have one I could buy for my niece.

And the luggage, love it! What a great find.

Your dress is really pretty, and I bet you look beautiful in it :goodvibes

I don't think I'll let Don know what a great shopper you are, if I do he probably won't let me hang out with you on the cruise
Just don't tell Don about the shopping.
I would zip over to your Disney Store and get that cover up before they are gone though.
Well, it would be a fun way to get in trouble, at least. ;)

Big SCORE on all your shopping finds, Wigd. :thumbsup2
It's the best way to get in trouble!
I have just a bit more shopping to do tomorrow. I hope I'm as successful!
When it the wedding?? I love the dress you got. That is great that you can wear it on the cruise also.:thumbsup2

Love all the cute things for Harper. I cannot wait to see pics. Wow lots of princess dresses!! Those little shoes are so cute!!
The wedding is the 19th. So it's very soon!
Harper has a dress for every princess, I think....
Let's just see if she cooperates and I can keep up!
Beautiful dress, and awesome luggage!

Harper's princess dresses are too cute. I was such a girly-girl when I was that little, I would have loved to get dressed up in those dresses!
She really likes to get dressed up too! I hope we have nice weather so she isn't cold!
I would have loved those dresses when I was little. I just had my mom's square dance cancans.

I love all of Harper's clothes and accessories! Makes me wish I had a girl!
I also love the beach towel. I might have to get one for Michael. Ando fo course, your dress is pretty! I can't wait to see it and the other one on you! They will be great for the cruise. Are you doing the 4 or 5 nighter?
Here is a link I found with Disney luggage! I don't know anything about this site.
http://www.villageluggageandgifts.com/heys-usa-line-category-disney.html
We are doing the 4 night but if we book for next year I'd sure like to do the 5 night!
You did find that luggage!
I didn't pay near that much!
Maybe $100 less.
When we get back from our trip I'll post a pic of the other dress.

OH my........so many choices, I LOVE them all!
They are very cute!
I just love those Princess dresses! My GDs aren't into the Princesses, but they do like frilly dresses. I need to do some shopping before Sept.

I wish that I could have found some of that luggage at the Marshall's & TJ Maxx's around here. Absolutely none were to be found.:sad1:
We sure didn't find any here in Wichita either. Just up in Kansas City.
Hey Anita, I started a PTR, hope you'll come join me - link is in my siggie!
I did! Thanks for the shout out!
I just love that luggage!!! If I ever came home with that DH would threaten never to fly with me :rotfl: Maybe for a solo trip someday!!!! Hey, now that is an excuse... :scratchin.... HA!

Great girly girl stuff, TOO cute, love the Tshirts and well everything! That is a haul!

Dress is a great classic black that will go for so many events. Good choice! :thumbsup2

SOON, trip is SOON!!!!

:goodvibes
I know exactly when you could use some Mickey luggage. How about the end of May?
We did come home from KC with some good stuff! Especially that black dress!
NOT Drama!!!!!! EEEEKKKKK!!!!!! Love all the character photos! LOVED your details about your EE rides---what a nice Christmas treat!
For the most part Christmas day at AK was a smashing success!
Oh Anita, you brought me right back to our Christmas morning spent at AK. We had almost identical itineraries! What a wonderful morning that was :cloud9:

You've got me worried about the drama!
I remembered you saying how empty it was so that's why we decided to go there!
Great advice!
Christmas Morning at AK.

Drama on the tram!!! :
Drama on the trama!
Ah, I just love seeing the Animal Kingdom tree and all the little trees at Camp Minnie Mickey! Someday I will see them in person! :goodvibes
Hopefully someday will be Christmas 2011!:thumbsup2
Christmas breakfast with Disney pals - very nice!

This coming Christmas, breakfast will still be at home, but by dinnertime, we'll be in Disney World. Makes me want to book an ADR for a character dinner for that day. That would be very cool for the girls.
I think that sounds like a spendid idea! Maybe it could be with some DIS friends too!
Cliffhanger! But what would Christmas day be without a little drama?

I had never heard of the "character trees" in AK... I will have to remember that! Very cute!!!
Those character trees are darling!

I hadn't planned to leave you all hanging so long but someone was sleeping in his chair last night.....
I did not realize they have character trees either.

What a cliffhanger.....something to do with the rental car I am thinking...??
Hmmmmm, we were on our way to the parking lot.
So, now I have to log into the Dis even more frequently...can't wait...

I love that they have a sign to let you know about MK being filled. It would be awful to not know and park hop there!

Thanks for the pictures of the trees. Very cool!
I think if you were staying on property you could still get in but think of the crowds!
Marc is awake.
Perhaps the saga will continue!

That was just fine because we weren't going there anyway....

We headed for the tram and that's where the drama began.

This is how I would like to report our exit from Animal Kingdom......

As we left the park, I asked Wigd to get out her iPhone and go to the app "Where's My Car?" We would use that app to locate the car and drive happily off to our next destination.

Unfortunately, that is nowhere close to what happened! First, we would have had to remember that we actually had that app on the phone.

The next scenario would go more like this......

"Honey, can I see your phone to find the car?"

"What? Oh, the phone ran out of power a few minutes ago."

But that was not what happened either.

As we are on the tram, Wigd looks at me and innocently asks, "Where did you park?" Incredulously, I look back at her and say, "Somewhere around here...." Crap, I thought it was the navigator's responsibility to remember where we parked!

We rode on the tram back to the park to re-orient ourselves and try to find something that looked familiar!

Back out to the lot, and we could not agree where to exit the tram. I finally got tired of riding, and told Wigd I was getting off to search for the car. We left the tram to enter the hot expanse of concrete.

Do any of you have any idea how large Animal Kingdom's parking lot might be?

I only wish I had worn a pedometer so I could have known how many million steps I walked looking for that d@m[!%&* rental car!

We searched together for a while but could not agree on which way to go. (Imagine that!) I decided to venture off on my own in hopes of finding said "lost" vehicle. Was the parting amicable? Hardly!

Wigd is searching one part of the lot and I'm searching another. I have the advantage as I have the key fob and have the ability to see the lights flash when I, hopefully, get close enough for the signal to reach.

After hours (probably 30 minutes) of searching, I finally locate the car and call Wigd to find out where she is. We really were not that far apart. I go to rescue her from the sweltering heat and she is so happy to see me that she throws her arms around my neck, covers my face with kisses, and expresses immense gratitude for my persistence in searching for the lost car. At least, that's how I remember it.

As we ride off into the sunset, my words to my beloved are "I will never rent a car again."

You guys have been on the DIS long enough to know that you always take a picture of the sign in the area you are parked in :thumbsup2 I guess maybe since you don't usually have a car maybe you haven't paid particular attention to that little tidbit of information :goodvibes Oh well, you'll know for the next time you rent a car (and we all know there will be a next time).

But Shocker, why didn't you listen to Wigd?!;)

That might be a bit cumbersome, I think we'll put them in a bag and stash them in the stroller!

Maybe just a little!!!:lmao::rotfl2: I think a bag might be betterr too! I liked t when we had a stroller to throw (oh, I mean put!) stuff in! :rotfl: Michael loved riding in the stroller. Seriously!!!! When he outgrew his, we rented them up until a few years ago. He didn't care that he was a little too big to be in them.

Isn't that towel hilarious?

Yes!

Really none of our DIS kids know how lucky they are!

so true!

I hope that it holds up well! Are yours the same material as the blue Mickey head one? I did go get the bigger one like the one I have. Now the big decision... Do I keep both (or really all 3, the rolling backpack one)or take the smaller carry on back? I vote....keep them all!!!:rotfl2::rotfl:

It will be all about her this trip and one day about Baylor since Marc has the big surprise for him! I'll keep Harper busy that day!:goodvibes

What's the surprise?

This weekend is tomorrow!
YEAH!!!:banana::cool1:

There are going to be some cool guys with Perry towels!

The wedding is the 19th. So it's very soon!
Harper has a dress for every princess, I think....
Let's just see if she cooperates and I can keep up!

She really likes to get dressed up too! I hope we have nice weather so she isn't cold!
I would have loved those dresses when I was little. I just had my mom's square dance cancans.

We are doing the 4 night but if we book for next year I'd sure like to do the 5 night!

Next summer, you should do a 7 nighter on the Fantasy!!! I'm not sure what we are going to do. I would like to do a Med cruise, if the prices aren't too high!! Or Disney Hawaii? or maybe a 7 night Fantasy cruise!! Our 20th anniversary will be Oct. 2012.

You did find that luggage! Yep! It is pricey on that site. It was the same on Amazon too! Let's just hope it is durable! Was there a plastic layer on yours. They had peeled it off on mine.

I didn't pay near that much!
Maybe $100 less.
When we get back from our trip I'll post a pic of the other dress.

Drama on the trama!

LOL!!!

I hadn't planned to leave you all hanging so long but someone was sleeping in his chair last night.....

Hmmmmm, we were on our way to the parking lot.

I think if you were staying on property you could still get in but think of the crowds!
Marc is awake.
Perhaps the saga will continue!

Now, let's hear how Wigd remembers it!

Yes, I'm curious too!
I didn't know they had character trees either!

HOLY Toledo Batman!!!!!!!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: Now that is a truly Magical Disney moment!! One of those FUN times that you never ever get to read in somebody's trippie, when they are sharing about all the Pixie Dust flying!! I knew when Wigd. said you were headed to the parking lot and there was DRAMA, that somebody (:rolleyes1) hadn't remembered where "it" was parked!!! I just wasn't sure who that somebody was??? Oh, I knew who was going to get BLAMED, but I wasn't sure who was at fault!!! :rotfl2:

As we are on the tram, Wigd looks at me and innocently asks, "Where did you park?" Incredulously, I look back at her and say, "Somewhere around here...." Crap, I thought it was the navigator's responsibility to remember where we parked!

If we are voting, I am voting for my BUDDY!!! :thumbsup2 Of course, if my Buddy is still all that and a bag of chips, he might want to reconsider who "he" THOUGHT held that responsiblity....just saying!!! :confused3

We rode on the tram back to the park to re-orient ourselves and try to find something that looked familiar!

See without that rental, the multiple rides on the Tram wouldn't have been taken and a magical part of the Disney experience for the millions who have gone before you, wouldn't be one that you could now say...been there done that!!!!

Back out to the lot, and we could not agree where to exit the tram. I finally got tired of riding, and told Wigd I was getting off to search for the car. We left the tram to enter the hot expanse of concrete.

Do any of you have any idea how large Animal Kingdom's parking lot might be?

Just a guess, but BIG, real BIG, sort of like the park itself??? ;)

Hardly!

So are you saying, during this magical moment, you were NOT making it so magical for our precious Wigd.??

After hours (probably 30 minutes) of searching, I finally locate the car and call Wigd to find out where she is. We really were not that far apart. I go to rescue her from the sweltering heat and she is so happy to see me that she throws her arms around my neck, covers my face with kisses, and expresses immense gratitude for my persistence in searching for the lost car. At least, that's how I remember it.

AWW, such sweet memories!!!

As we ride off into the sunset, my words to my beloved are "I will never rent a car again."

Now, now my friend, NEVER say NEVER........then again this could be an absolute true statement seeing that it could be Wigd. that actually makes the ressie on the future RENTALS that you will likely be driving and hopefully remembering where YOU parked it!!!! :lmao:

I too would like to hear the other side of this sorrid tale.........I am sure that it would be truly amusing to see how our precious Wigd. remembers that event!!! You up to sharing Wigd.????

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Thanks for the laugh! I needed that!

We lost a car at Epcot once. It was not pretty. Not pretty at all!

Merry Christmas!
