It's ALL about the FOOD! An October 2012 PTR! - Trip Report Started.

Oh, the Sweet Sunday sounds like fun. Unfortunately, we won't be there on a Sunday, boo!

Would you mind telling me a bit more about F&W? I know there are vendors set up all around the WS... we're planning on sampling foods as our dinner meal, if this can be done? You can use snack credits, correct? What does a typical snack credit get you?

Day 5, October 16

This is the dedicated Hollywood Studios day!

We will either grab a quick bite to eat at the resort or starring rolls or both!

The time at DHS will begin with the TSM mad dash! I'll mad dash for the FP line and hubby will wait by the standby.

From there we will head to Rock n Roller coaster. I'd like to also do Tower of Terror at least once but hubby refused last time so not sure if that will happen or not!

Lunch will be at 50's Prime Time!

I'm craving the fried chicken!
Sorry... I forgot to take the picture before I started eating...

Rest of the day will be spent on other DHS activities, hoping to not miss the Animation Academy (or whatever it may be called at DHS?!?)

We will end the day at DHS with Fantasmic!

After Fantasmic we will be going to dinner at Flying Fish. I am thinking 8:30-8:45 reservation. Since we will be finishing dinner late we will either have to take a bus to DtD and then transfer or take a Taxi. We will see how we feel that night!

Flying Fish will be a new restaurant for us! I see plenty of entrees my hubby can have but not any apps unfortunately so I am hoping he doesn't hate me for this reservation!

I'm also hoping HDDR won't be closed. We've never been and I was going to try and persuade the family to go there instead of Chef Mickeys the first day we are all together.

We also spend a day snacking around FW&W for lunch. We usually do breakfast at Akershus because of the kids :)

I love F&WF time. Snacking around the world for lunch is the best!

I can't wait to experience it!

This will be my first time experiencing food and wine. I've heard the snack credits will get you the food samplings from the booths.
Here is a link listing all the booth offerings. If its food you can use a snack credit. If its alcohol its cash.

My hubby will be SO Disappointed if HDDR review is closed! It truly was a great time!!

I thought about Akershus but think counter service would be better for us. Quicker and cheaper!

Ahhh... I thought you had been to F&W before. Going now to check out the link... thanks!

I wish I had been there before! I'm hoping this isn't the only trip but it will all depend on if hubby has a good time!

The link I provided was to last years snacks. There are likely to be some changes! I can't wait till Disney releases more details!

That info is great... I'm sure there will be some changes, but this gives me an idea as what to expect. So thanks again! :thumbsup2

You can use snack credits for the F&W carts but you can also get little gift cards. We got them last year and they are reloadable. Plus you can wear them around your wrist so it makes it really easy to pay!

Ok I'm finally caught up! Your plans for each day sound great so far! I hope HDDR is open for you guys! And OMG that fried chicken at 50's looks awesome! I would love to eat there, but I'm so afraid, I don't want to be yelled at while I'm eating dinner!

You are going to love the Food and Wine festival! I love when they release the menus for the booths, I usually print them out and highlight what I want to try! I forget when they release them but I want to say July? I'll have to check my PTR from last year!

We'll be in DHS this day, too! Though I doubt we'll do the TSM dash... unless our friends have their hearts set on it.

I can't wait to see Star Tours- I haven't been since it was re-done

The wrist gift cards scare me! What if I lose it?!?!?

When we ate at 50's PT we didn't get hassled at all. I even left my veggies and didn't get yelled at... I always eat with my elbows on the table and wasn't yelled at for that either! I was bummer actually!

I'm thinking we have a lot of similar plans! Maybe we'll run into each other at some point!

He "says" he hates Disney but does this look like he hates Disney?!?!?

We will then go Ride the Safari!

After the Safari we will head to Expidition Everest! WE NEVER rode this in May 2009! I was so dissapointed! We were tired and hot and cranky so we left AK early. This was the only park were it was my feet giving me issues! Plus my cold was really wearing me out so we just decided it was better to leave. So therefor I am NOT leaving AK till we ride at least once!

Also hoping to catch the Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo! We saw the HUGE lines in '09 so didn't go! I think hubby will really enjoy these so will make the time!
For lunch I am planning on Yak n Yeti! I'm thinking a little bit later ADR... Something like 1:30pm. We had lunch ADR's here in '09 but we skipped them because we weren't hungry at the time of the ADR and hubby didn't want Asian food. Since he is now living in Colorado and different ethnic foods are not as readily available as they are in CA I am hoping he will be okay with it!

After lunch we will head to the resort for a quick rest and change of clothes. We have another partial AK day the following week so whatever we miss we will do then!

Since AK will be a short day I have a few extra things planned!

La Nouba!! Planning the 6pm show so I think we will need to be there around 5:30pm.

After La Nouba we will hop a bus to the Contemporary where I am planning dinner at California Cafe! Wishes Fireworks are at 9pm so I am planning an 8:45pm ADR!

So what do you think? To much planned?!?!

I would be scared of a bracelet gift card coming off too! Unless it's one of those paper ones that you get at concerts, etc. Those things never come off unless you tear at it or have a pair of scissors!

That pic of your hubby and Daisy is so cute! Looks like he likes Disney to me!

You never got to ride EE? Well then you HAVE to this trip. It's one of my top must do's for our trip!

Tusker House is also on my list of meals. I am looking forward to it. :goodvibes

EE is awesome! I remember AK was one of the only parks we decided to hit early...we were there for RD, power-walked over to EE for FPs, and it was worth it!

TH is a breakfast option we're seriously considering. On our AK day, we know we want to do all our meals either in the park or at AKL. So, it's either Boma or TH for breakfast. We love Boma, but we're thinking TH might be a nice change. Not sure if we'll be there so early this time, though.

Yeah the AK day on our previous trip was not good! I was feeling awful with the cold I had come down with. Felt like I couldn't breath. Plus it felt really hot and I hadn't done as much research about AK I guess and didn't have a real touring plan so we just kinda gave up! I actually had EE FP's that it was time to use but we just didn't want to walk back there to use them. So regret that!!

I've thought about Boma since everyone says its wonderful but transportation to AKL that early in the morning I think would be a problem so I am just sticking with Tusker House. Plus we enjoyed the buffet and the characters!

Since we were staying at WL at the time, we went over to MK and caught the bus to AKL from there. You have to go to a park first, so that can make it tough, especially early. We've done a couple of character buffets, and we are 50-50 on them. I hate to put it this way, but being a couple w/o kids, sometimes we feel like it gets a bit hectic with all the kids, and one time we felt a bit overlooked by the characters (we're kids at heart!). After two trips, though, we've met a lot of the characters and gotten autographs/pics. I wonder if TH would be busier in the early morning when ppl are trying to get into AK early?

Oh, you must ride EE! It's my favorite coaster at WDW... in fact, it might just be my favorite ride of all! It's a tough decision between EE and ToT for me. I'm pretty bummed that we're (probably) going to skip AK on our trip... mainly because it means no EE!

When we went in '09 is was kinda busy early on. We were one of the first to be seated though. WE got to see all the characters and were back outside in time for the secondary rope drop and were very quickly on the safari.

That is why I feel I would have a really hard time doing a short trip! I have a hard time doing a 3 day trip to DL and that is so much smaller size wise!
