It's ALL about the FOOD! An October 2012 PTR! - Trip Report Started.

Yay Paula!! That is exciting! I am happy for you that you were able to find something for at least one week! :woohoo:

I am so excited for you! No more worrying about having to change the length of your stay! :goodvibes

I'm sure you will enjoy VWL. We really enjoyed the boats to MK and all the MK resorts. DH loved the pool, we both loved the decor, and just walking around the resort was nice. Our only regret was that we didn't eat at AP. We're going to try and rectify that this time around.

All your F&W event plans are making me realize I know nothing about the typical events at F&W! This will be our first time there, and I hadn't thought about doing anything except snacking at the booths. Now I'm starting to think I better do more research.

The lobby of the WL and dining at AP is as far as we have gone. This is a resort that hubby said he would like to stay at so I am happy we had the option!

Boats to MK are awesome! And I figure if we want we can take the Boat and then the Monorail to get to Epcot if we want!

Yay! I've only been inside the WL once, and that was for dinner at WCC. I love the look of the resort and would love to stay there sometime! I'm actually hoping to stay at a Deluxe on my next family trip (hopefully next October) and WL is in consideration!

I've priced out WL so many times! I think every dream trip I create I price it out and its always to pricey so this is a great option for us!

Thanks Andrea! I am excited!

Yup! And I booked it the second week as DVC on purpose... this way my hubby can't say we can just go home when we check out of the timeshare if it was booked the first week! I'm holding him captive in WDW for 2 weeks lol! I think I have enough stuff planned to keep him interested though!

I have fallen so behind in reading PTR's lately!! Yikes!

Your plans sound good. Congrats on VWL...looks so pretty. You also have a lot of yummy looking places you are planning on eating at.

So excited with getting a DVC room I almost forgot to update my daily plans!!!

Let me backtrack here for a minute... since we will be moving resorts on Friday the 19th it unfortunately means not sleeping in as much as I would like! Hopefully I can get our bags packed on our off day and we can still get the rest we need. I'm also hoping WDW will transfer our bags for us even though we are going from regular resort to DVC?!?!

Back to the daily plans!
So... I think I am up to Sunday October 21st!
Ahhh... it's Sunday! This means the option of another Sweet Sunday! Personally I am hoping the Pastry Chef on this Sunday is better than the one on the 14th as it will work better with my plans! :lmao: We will only be doing ONE Sweet Sunday so we will choose whichever hubby prefers.

We will head to Epcot around 9am to be checked in for the Sweet Sunday around 10am. Sweet Sunday includes a brunch so no need to find something to eat first!

After the Sweet Sunday event we are hightailing it out of Epcot and heading back to MK!

I plan to hopefully spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon in my happy place!

I am thinking of making a late afternoon ADR for the Plaza as I've heard its a good meal but not super heavy!

MK will close at 7pm so we will head back to VWL at that point. We'll clean up quick and have dinner there! At Artist Point! We had our 5year Anniversary dinner there in '09 and it was wonderful so I am hoping for another wonderful meal!

Good to see you back! It's so easy to get behind!! I'm going to be really behind in May. I will be going to see hubby for 2 weeks so probably won't be on the DIS much if at all during that point so will have lots to catch back up on!

I'm very excited about the VWL! It wasn't my prefered way of getting it booked but at least its done!

I so can't wait to EAT on this trip! Every day I type up my plans I get so hungry and my stomach starts talking to me... and then I feed it a Peanut Butter Sandwich! :rotfl2: I can't wait to eat all these meals! I just hope we walk off most of it!

I saw this on the FB page, so excited for you! Good choice, you're going to love WL! Forget boat to DTD - boat to MK is way better! LOL. I didn't want to leave when I stayed there - so far it's my favorite resort out of the 3 I've stayed in.

Ohhh, Wilderness Lodge! It's on my list, but no one else ever wants to stay there (except DH and he never gets to go anymore :) )

Have you thought about Writers Stop in DHS for breakfast? The have pastries, muffins and cinnamon rolls and coffees. Not as sweet as offerings as Starring Rolls and we like it for more breakfasty type items.

Yay for the Wilderness Lodge!!! You are going to love it there, it's my favorite place in Disney! :lovestruc

Sweet Sunday's sound so amazing...I don't know why we didn't do any of the F&W events last year!

I'm glad you were able to work a little bit of the timeshare stuff out.......and getting to stay somewhere you're REALLY wanted to stay at is a bonus!!!! Sorry about the banked points......seems like such a shame they'll go to waste!

Hey there!! I'm late, but I'm here!! Going back to catch up!!! I didn't even notice you had a PTR going!! I'm sorry! :) But, I'm here now, and we have 6 months to count down together!!!!:yay:

Did you stay in the Villas side or the Hotel? just curious?!?!

Why doesn't anyone else want to stay there!?!? It's beautiful!!

Thanks for the suggestion of Writers Stop! Sounds like a good option!!

Yeah.. it is a waste.. I would use them if I could get time off of work but I'm pretty booked solid at work for the times I'm not already on vacation.

It's never to late!! Our dates are pretty close aren't they?

Day 11 (Originally posted as Day 10 but oopss.. I can't repeat Day 10 lol!) begins with a SUPER EARLY wake-up call!

This is the day I decided to book a tour! I've booked this tour with my husband in mind (as a lot of stuff is!)

My husband LOVES Trains! I think he would build one to go around our property if I let him! (And since our house now sits on 47.5 acres there would be plenty of room!)

So with that we will be booking the Magic Behind the Steam Trains tour!

The tour begins at something like 7:30 in the morning! The good news is (if it runs that early!) We can take the boat from VWL to MK!!

It's supposed to run 3 hours but I've heard it can go longer...

After the tour we will head out from MK and head via Monorail to Epcot! (Hmmm... the day before we started in Epcot and went to MK!!)

At Epcot we will make our way to World Showcase and have some German lunch! I'm planning to book Biergarten for the days enjoyment! (This is the reservation I've hemmed and hawed of the most!! I'm torn between Biergarten, Chefs de France and Via Nappolli!)

We will spend the rest of the day around Epcot.. Exploring the countries some more.. taking it easy... watching the ducks.. Around 7pm we will head out the International Gateway and grab us a ride to the Yacht Club for dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse!

I MAY make this an earlier dinner... its going to be a long day getting up in time for the tour... Plus it would be nice to get back to the resort earlier to be able to relax!

The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains is a really good tour if you are at all interested in trains. Unfortunately for us, we took it on an extremely cold morning in December (seriously, it was probably in the high 30s to low 40s)...well, cold for California ppl. It seemed like everyone on the tour was freezing, though, and it's mainly outdoors. Our tour guide was very knowledgable, though, and we learned a lot about not only the trains themselves, but also Walt Disney's relationship with trains. Good choice! :thumbsup2

Did you stay in the Villas side or the Hotel? just curious?!?!

No, I stayed in the hotel. The villas & the main hotel are connected by a breezeway so it makes it really easy to walk between them. The bus stops are centrally located near the breezeway. My friend owns DVC at VWL and she loves it!

Hopefully October it won't be too hot or too cold!! I think my hubby will really enjoy it and since going to WDW in general is to make me happy I try and make it at least pleasant for him!

Yay for the Wilderness Lodge!! How exciting! :goodvibes

Thanks I'm excited! I think hubby will be happy too even though it does mean a split stay.

I was wondering how they were connected! We took the boat to/from there when we went to Artist Point so I never saw the front! Do you know if we will check in in the Hotel or is there a check-in inside the Villas?

Day 12 has one goal in mind!

Rope Drop at Magic Kingdom!!

I've heard Rope Drop is wonderful but I didn't want to give up an early morning Crystal Palace ADR to see it so luckily we are there enough days we can go this day instead!

The rest of the day... oh whatever we feel like doing! We may Park Hop.. We may not.. Who KNOWS!

This day will have ADR's at 1900 Park Fare and Citrico's!!

1900 Park Fare is new but we went to Citrico's TWICE in '09! Yes it was THAT good!!

Have you ever seen a Dessert Platter like this?!?!?
ry%3D400

That dessert looks so yummy!

Good plan on trying to see rope drop. :)

I hope to be able to see rope drop our first morning, but not sure what time we should be there. Park opens at nine, and I don't want to drag Dillon out of bed TOO early, but I am thinking we should be there no later than 8:30. Hopefully!

I love having a boat as a transportation option! Something about 'hopping on a boat' to get where you're going screams vacation to me :)

Every time I read about Citrico's, I think I need to eat there. But when I read the menu, it doesn't appeal to me so much. What's their best dish?
