It's ALL about the FOOD! An October 2012 PTR! - Trip Report Started.

Wow, you have a lot planned for this day!! But it all sounds like lots of fun! I've never done Tusker House for breakfast, but I've heard great things about it! :thumbsup2

I think this day sounds great!! I love EE, I hope you do too!

I've heard EE is awesome! I seriously cannot wait to ride it! I was so MAD we skipped it last time!

Do you think its too much for one day? I've tried finding another place for La Nouba and I really don't have many options! I will keep rearranging though if some of my Diser friends think its too much!

Wowsa... Already on Day 7! Unfortunatly the days at WDW will probably fly by even faster than my telling you about them!

Thursday October 18th

This is primarily a non-park day... as I explained earlier my hubby will only have a 10day PH so need some days with no parks!

We will start the day by sleeping in... probably much needed after the overloaded day before!

Once we sleep in I am thinking lunch at Raglan Road... yes we will have just been there on Saturday but what can I say.. it's a favorite!

After lunch it will be a lazy afternoon around Downtown Disney and or resort time!

Dinner will be as early as possible at The Wave (hearing conflicting reports on the Wave.. some say its excellent and others not so much so I may change this!)

Followed by Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!

So its not completely a non-park day!!!

My main reasons for going to the party are the Boo to You parade and Hallowishes!!! And some characters if I can stand to wait for them!

Your plans are looking good!! Hopefully the lodging will fall into place too!! My husband would love to go during the F & W times. He already wants to eat his way around Epcot.....lol He'd love going to demonstrations & such. It will be fun seeing your pictures & your reviews!!!! :cool1:

Mine, too! And, possibly even more, I'm looking at the party as a way to get into MK without using a park ticket, LOL!

If my brother's family wants to do MNSSHP, we will be there on the 18th too.

Awesome!! I know my hubby isn't real interested but oh well!!

Thanks Laurie!! I'm trying to squeeze so much in!! I thought 2 weeks would be plenty of time but man its hard to plan around so many F&W events!! I have more coming up in the next few days!! Unfortunately the F&W stuff is pretty pricey!! I'm hoping my budget all comes together on this stuff!

Oh... I dunno that I could go to WDW without going to the MK!! You definitely have to go!! Or at least get a 3 day Park Pass and go on one of your days! (Isn't adding the 3rd day about the same price as a MNSSHP ticket?)

I'm a little late posting my daily update as I ended up working an extra shift! Normally I work night shift but they called and asked if I could work days. I almost didn't but it sets me up for premium pay next weekend and since we could really use the money I agrees even though it is really out of my element!!

So anyways...

Day 8, Friday October 19

The previous night was MNSSHP so I am planning on allowing us to sleep in a little bit this morning.

We need to be ready and at Epcot by roughly 11:30am so we can check in for our French Regional Lunch which I am guestimating to be from noon-3pm.

The French Regional Lunch is held at Bistro de Paris (which is why I am not 100% positive on also having dinner there!) I believe it is 3 or 4 courses all paired with wine! The only reason I would NOT book this lunch is if it is a winery that is mainly white wines or champagne as those are not our favorites.

After the lunch we will waddle our way around Epcot. Hopefully finding something to do outside of all the crowds!

The evening will be the 3D Dessert Discovery Party! This sounds so decadent! I can't wait! After the party we get a special viewing area for Illuminations!! I'm really hoping that they have some savory items in addition to all the desserts though as otherwise we will need to find something to eat shortly thereafter so balance out all the sweets!

Funny thats what we will do. Its our First Day at WDW staying at the POFQ from 10/15 Till 10/25.

Perhaps we See each other at the 50's :cool1:

Greets from Germany:wizard:

Wo-Hoo for 50's Prime Time! I really enjoyed my meal last time and I look forward to it again!!

I think having a quieter day before MNSSHP sounds like a great idea!

Your F&W day sounds so nice! The French Regional Lunch sounds so cool, and I've always wanted to go to the Illuminations dessert party! Your trip definitely is all about the food! :thumbsup2

Day 9 plans, Saturday October 20th!

So by day 9 I am hoping I have planned enough rest times in for us and we are not exhausted! This day will begin a little early as I am going to attempt our first ever Extra Magic Hour and it will be at DHS!!

Why you ask??! Toy Story Mania!! I love this ride!! I am HOPEFUL that we will be able to ride Toy Story Mania at least twice! I'd also like at least a spin on Rock n Roller Coaster! Once we are done with those it is off to Epcot!

Now I've heard Saturdays during the Food & Wine festival are complete madhouses in the World Showcase... so why would I want to be heading there?!?!

Um... oh... Another F&W event of course! This one is the Italy Food & Wine Pairing! I'm guestimating that it is from 2-4pm! Of course we are likely to need something to eat before 2pm. I was planning on Sunshine Seasons but that would mean the LONG walk to Future World! Next I was thinking well just a few things from the F&W booths to tide us over... but those don't open till 11! Next I was thinking well Askerhaus Breakfast... but I'm not sure what time we will be done at DHS?!?! So in other words I have NO idea what to do for BREAKFAST!!

Any suggestions on the Breakfast dilemma?!?

After the Italy Food & Wine pairing it will be time to REALLY work up an appetite! So I think we will venture into Future World at this point and see how the crowds are.. possible do some of our Favorites! Soarin for Me and Test Track for hubby! I'd even like to do Ellens Energy Adventure! And since that is likely to not have a HUGE wait I figure it will be a good time to do it!

So Why do I want us to work up a HUGE appetite!?!?

Oh.. It's The Party for the Senses!! This will be the most expensive F&W event of our trip and hopefully the best!! The Party for the Senses is a lot of booths of food and wine and all you can eat and drink for a few hours! (I'm just hoping that the F&W Classic at the Swolphin on our first few days doesn't outshine this event!)

At the completion of Party for the Senses it will be bedtime! I'm expecting to fall asleep in a somewhat buzzed and stuffed manor!

You two snuck in while I was writing the next days plans!!

For what time will you try to get an ADR?

I'm thinking early as we won't have much of a breakfast this day... probably around 11:30 or so...

I think having a quieter day before MNSSHP sounds like a great idea!

Your F&W day sounds so nice! The French Regional Lunch sounds so cool, and I've always wanted to go to the Illuminations dessert party! Your trip definitely is all about the food! :thumbsup2

Yeah.. when I was reading about the different events those 2 definitely stuck out! French Regional Lunch with all you can drink wine pairing?!!? YES PLEASE!!

And since hubby is a Pastry Chef well we just HAVE to do the Dessert Party!!

Lol! I definitely named my PTR appropriately! But while a lot of the trip will be about getting to ADR's and such I am also hoping we have PLENTY of park time as I don't want to miss so much this trip!!

My TR is going to be HUGE between all the special things and everything else I love to take pictures of!

I love all the F&W events you're planning on doing! I don't think we're going to be doing any- unless there happens to be something beer related, since our friends are very avid (and talented!) home brewers.

For breakfast on your DHS morning, maybe grab something at Starring Rolls before leaving the Studios?

The only beer thing I know about so far is a seminar at the Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine classic... http://swandolphinfoodandwineclassic.com/

I don't drink beer and hubby rarely does so that's not something I was looking into so there may be more!

I had Starring Rolls down the first morning we are at DHS... We'll see... by that time in our trip we may be waddling around anyways so could go without breakfast!

Not all of the F&W events may happen! It will all depend on finances come booking time!!

I am so EXCITED THIS MORNING!!

:cool1::banana::dance3:

Someone sent me a private message that they saw more DVC available through RCI so I went to have a look! Sure enough there was quite a few available for the second week we will be in WDW!

So now I had to QUICKLY decide if I wanted SSR or VWL! Now I had always dreamed of staying at WL so that was my first instinct but then I thought... Well SSR has a boat to DtD! And the counter service there takes TIW so we could use that for a little savings on a few breakfasts...

So which did I go with?!?

Wilderness Lodge of Course!

There is a few downsides to getting this reservation though.

#1 I wasn't able to use the banked weeks I had paid to extend. I had to use newer points that I had deposited that were not set to expire till 2014!

#2 I now have at least one week banked with RCI that I paid to extend that I will likely not be able to use... anyone planning a vacation besides Disney and need a place to stay?!?

#3 It means a split stay which my hubby stated he DID NOT WANT! Ooopps! Hopefully he will forgive me after I ply him with more wine!!

I'm sure you will enjoy VWL. We really enjoyed the boats to MK and all the MK resorts. DH loved the pool, we both loved the decor, and just walking around the resort was nice. Our only regret was that we didn't eat at AP. We're going to try and rectify that this time around.

All your F&W event plans are making me realize I know nothing about the typical events at F&W! This will be our first time there, and I hadn't thought about doing anything except snacking at the booths. Now I'm starting to think I better do more research.

Yay! I've only been inside the WL once, and that was for dinner at WCC. I love the look of the resort and would love to stay there sometime! I'm actually hoping to stay at a Deluxe on my next family trip (hopefully next October) and WL is in consideration!
