It's a New Year for a New You Super Goofs team thread

I totally forgot this until I was running back through the posts. So, Megan, fish makes you run faster???? Sorry, I just had to give you some...carp....lol....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: (PS, I do this all the time at my job, thank goodness for spellcheck)

There was a carp sandwich place featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives on the Food network a while back....looked yummy!

hmm... no carp for me. I love shell fish (can't wait to go eat at some shacks in Maine this summer). Not a big fan of most other fish...

:)

I usually type June as Juen (did it just now too). At least I am out of most of those dates now.

Good morning everyone!! I was gonna wait and let Mike have first post this morning but then I thought....nah....

Megan, sorry I just had to dish it. I don't want Mike to think he is the ONLY one I pick on. Secretly I am waiting for Patrick to pick on.....:rolleyes1

Everyone in Disney right now, have a super awesome time. Don't be nervous about the race, just relax and enjoy it. I find Disney a difficult place to plan a PR. There is just too much to see and do!!!

Everyone else at the pity party, well it was great. I had a wonderful time but now it is back to work reality...:surfweb: . Maybe tonight or tomorrow we can do it again. Maine Mudslides at my house....that is coffee, hot chocolate, Baileys and vodka all mixed up warm and toasty.....

From my little corner of the world, I am down 2.5 pounds in a week just by exercising again and tracking what I was eating. Wow, small changes and big differences. I have 25.35 miles for the week and I worked out a total of 5:50 all by walk/run and ski. The really scary information that I found was that Sparkpeople says I burned 1970 calories last week. That is a lot. More than a days calories for me!!! I still need to clean up my eating a little more and get back to running but I think I am well on my road to recovery! Thanks for all the support everyone. I don't know where I would be without all of you! :grouphug:

congrats Lisa!

I made an executive decision last night to call a late start day; I'm pretty whipped from this weeks exercise, so I'm making up the swim yards I came up short yesterday later today.

I know that doesn't make sense, but hey, I've had NO coffee yet, spiked or otherwise :rolleyes1

Hope there is a great day on tap for all my fellow goofs and WISHers!

Mike

Good job with the workouts Lisa and Mike!

I have been logging alot of miles this week too. I am tired.....don't know if I am taking today off or not. If the oppurtunity arises for the gym, I just might go.....

I did a late workout last night.......6.15 miles on the elliptical. I was doing the hill workout ((((called around the world!)))))) and it kicked my tush! My legs are tired today.......still tired from the 8 miler on Tuesday I guess.

Hope all the Super Goofs in WDW are having a blast!

Beth

No problem here!

I worked out last night. 1.1 miles (have the time at home). I then did weights, stretching and abs for another 45 minutes. I may try to get out tomorrow morning and run before the weather turns nasty. It's supposed to be yucky tomorrow night and Sunday morning.

Hey Goofs! We made it to WDW very late last night after a long delay in Newark!! This morning we hit the expo and I spent a lot of money on clothes....ugh! I couldn't pick just one or two things so ended up buying like 4-5!!! We went to MK today and it seemed much more crowded than last year, so we did a bunch of stuff then headed back to POP to rest a bit. I am about to head down to the WISH meet at the food court to meet everyone!

I really wish all the Goofs could be here this weekend, but I am very excited to meet everyone that is here!

I will try to check in later with some pics...hopefully I can get a pics of some of the Goofs!!!!

Laurie, sorry I missed the pop meet. We had Team in Training stuff last night. I finished my first half in 3:02:11. I injured my knee around Mile 7 or 8. It may be my IT band, which has never given me a problem before. Otherwise I feel great! Tired, but great. Good luck to our full and Goofy participants!

I did 90 minutes of spin, 30 minutes of sledding, 45 minutes of shoveling...at least I'm cross training!

Mike

Woo Hoo- just finished the half in 2:06
(just kidding- I gave someone my goofy and that's their time)

Just wanted to drop in and say that I finished the half in 2:37 today. A little faster than I was shooting for (wanted to stay around 2:45 to save myself for tomorrow), but I felt great and although I am a little nervous about tomorrow, I am excited!

The POP meet yesterday was awesome. I got to meet some of the Goofs, including Maura, Suzanne, Susie and her DH. We got a picture that I will post when I get home. It was awesome seeing all the WISH team.

This morning, a bunch of us met up before the race and it was fun haning in the corrals with everybody. It was pretty cold while waiting but to me it was perfect running weather! Hopefully tomorrow is just as good!

I will post a more detailed report next week, but just wanted to do a quick update! Time to go get everything set for tomorrow morning, and go to bed, as 2:30am will be here before I know it and it will be time for round 2!!!

I know I disappeared after only being here a short time but can I jump back in? I promise to do better this time. If I'm still part of the team, here is what I've done since the 1st.

1st 40 min. walk/run
2nd 30 min. walk/run
3rd 48 min. walk/run (3 miles)
4th rest day
5th 40 min. walk/run
6th 40 min. stationery bike
7th rest
8th 40 min. walk/run
9th 30 min. stationery bike
10th 94 min. walk/run (6 miles)

That is a total of 362 minutes or 3 hours 2 minutes.

I'm following the Marathoning for Mortals Walk/Run for Half Marathon. I'm signed up for the Princess Half in March.

Congrats to all the Half Marathoners this week-end and Good Luck (I know you are running now) to the Full Marathoners. I look forward to hearing more stories and accomplishments.

Hey Super Goofs! I had to post here first because I am SOOOOO excited!!! I just finished the marathon and beat my PR by 16 minutes!!!!!!!! I finished in 5:12, and got my Goofy medal!!!!!!!!!

I will do a bigger race report when I get home on Tuesday, but I couldn't wait to tell you guys! I have to say a huge Thanks to all of you for your support while I have been training...the Super Goofs ROCK!!!

Congrats Laurie!!!

I finished the 1/2 yesterday in 3:26, I was doing great until about mile 10 1/2 when I pulled something in my left leg and slowed down to a crawl. I pushed through and even jogged to the finish. Lots of great Wisher's out on the course, one taking pics as I ran down the castle walkway, 3 or 4 at a water stop maybe at about mile 11 or 12 and of course our very own Susie (escape). I saw Susie 3 different time taking pics, once before TTC, once somewhere near the Grand and as I was coming into Epcot.

Susie, you rock!!! If any of the pics came out decent, I'd love a copy as the ones my family took near the finish are all blurry. Please let me know!!

Below I am trying to post a pic of Susie and her husband, me, Laurie and Maura from the Pop meet. Hope it works!

Hi goofs! I didn't do the 6 that I wanted, but I did a workout in this order:

1.14 mi, 17:27 run
13mi, 35 min bike
1.01mi, 16:52 run

I like the treadmills at the gym more than my one at home I think. The band loosens up really quickly on the one at home. Tomorrow I plan on leaving work in time to make it to the 6:30 pilates class at the gym.

I was shocked at how empty the gym was. I thought people would still be "keeping" their new years resolutions. Then I realized the Eagles game was on...

Good morning Goofs!! I had a very depressing weekend. Every time I looked at the clock, all I could think of was, I would be here right now either during the race or with friends in the world. Somber weekend here. I spent most of my time reading Twilight in between doing my housework. We did take the kids sliding (sledding for anyone NOT in Maine) on Saturday for an hour and DH and I went for a very short snowmobile ride. Other than that, zero happenings around here.

Megan, I find the TM at the gym more inspiring also. It has more to do with being in the public eye and not getting lazy than anything else with me. If people are watching, I can run a lot faster....:lmao:

Vicki, welcome back. We always are accepting of former Goofs back to the team. As of right now, we are just reporting for kicks, not counting yet. We are waiting for further orders from our illustrious Panda when he returns from his Disney adventure!

Suzanne (and Susie, Steve, Laurie, Maura) Love, love, love the picture! How fun. And still, I missed it....:sad1: Nah I'm over it now. You all did SUPER in your races. I am so happy for each and every one of you. And how much fun is marathon weekend....huh....huh....huh...:goodvibes

Everyone else....:wave2:

It is cold, cold, cold here in Maine. Currently -3 degrees on the thermometer. Every day this week is supposed to get colder with our Friday highs in the single digits. Not much outside stuff planned for me. I guess either the gym or the walking DVD will be the height of my workouts planned for the week.

Have a good one Goofs and, stay warm!!!

DW was working all weekend, so it was a Dad's weekend with the kidlets.

We went shoveled, went sledding both days, caught mouse in a mousetrap, shoveled, played X-Box 360...a HUGE treat for the kids since I don't let them play more than 2-3 x per month, shoveled, replaced a broken shovel, huddled by the fire and thought about shoveling.

Anyway, today was a 35 minute, 1800 yard swim; Sunday was a 55 minute run, 30 min bike (but i cheated and got off after 10).

That's pretty much it; going to get colder every day in Shytown until Friday...Thurs low projected to be -7.

Brrrrrrrr.

Mike

Suzanne (and Susie, Steve, Laurie, Maura) Love, love, love the picture! How fun. And still, I missed it....:sad1: Nah I'm over it now. You all did SUPER in your races. I am so happy for each and every one of you. And how much fun is marathon weekend....huh....huh....huh...:goodvibes

Lisa...we thought of you this weekend and all said what a GREAT captain you have been!! I put a "Hi Lisa" in the upper corner of the sign but not sure if you can read it or not. LOTS of love sent your way...

Good Morning Everyone-
Registration for Marathon Weekend starts TODAY!!
Lisa- how about Goofy with me this year? I'm signing up and GOING even if it means I walk both races!

Saturday- step class (haven't done that in 3 years but spin was filled), one hour body pump followed by a dressage class done by a BNT. I learned alot and my inner thighs are a little upset with me.

Sunday- ride-critique- ride with the BNT against some of my fellow riders. I forgot the test but I still had fun.
