It's a New Year for a New You Super Goofs team thread

Sure Mike- Are you bringing anything to the pity party-
I can ask that with some sarcasm since I have an undiagnosed injury since SEPTEMBER!

I'm a girl after Capt Jack's heart, so I brought the Rum!

Carp! 2 months, 1 day... I need to run tonight.

BIG tumblers of Bushmill's Black. Chairs. Kleenex.

And a fire pit with hardwood for us to sit, sip, stare and sob.

On a positive note, I got 2400 yards of swimming and 40 minutes on the bike trainer in today.

Tomorrow is a 45 minute swim and 45 minute run.

Hey Goofs!!! Just wanted to drop in a say a big THANKS to all the goofs for the support over the last several months through my Goofy Training! I never would have made it through without all of you!

I can't believe it is finally here!!!!!! This time tomorrow night, I will be on a plane heading to WDW!!! I still have lots to do to make sure i have everything packed..so I probably won't be on again until after I get back. (That is unless I get some internet access while down there)

To the other Goofs heading to WDW, have a safe trip and can't wait to meet you all this weekend. To those at home, we will miss you! Wish you all could be there with us!

Hello Goofs

I am SO HAPPY the team is here!. I know I have been MIA off and on since the fall and I have missed everyone.!

Best of luck to everyone traveling and the 1/2. Be safe and hopefully all will be injury-free.

I am determined to get back to exercising. No goals as of this point for 2009.

I have some miles to post.......

Saturday 1/3: 50 minutes 3.1 miles
Sunday 1/4: 32 minues 2.0 miles
Wednesday 1/7 45 minutes 3.0 miles

Wow, all present and accounted for!! I am so proud of my little Goofs!

Okay, so I missed the party last night. I hope it is an ongoing one. Mike, I like the fire pit idea but can we do smores so I can drown my sorrows in chocolate??? I don't do hard liquor so I will just bring my favorite SeaDog blueberry wheat ale instead. :thumbsup2 My only other request I guess would be could we do this at the Ft. Wilderness campground???? :rolleyes1

I went out and skied yesterday in the snow storm. The snow hurt my face going down hills but I still had a great ski. Four miles total. I am working on my technique so I was a little slow but the conditions were great. Beyond great. The storm fizzled here also and we only ended up with about 3 inches out of the predicted 6-10". They called school for nothing. Calculated risk I guess. We have 3 more days before the kids start getting out later in June. DD14 LOVES that....not....

I am headed out skiing this afternoon again. I weighed myself this morning and I am -2 for the week. :woohoo: Keep up the great work everyone and Laurie, have a great trip, and have a great time in the race. Cecilia, Angie, Maura, you too. I hope I didn't forget anyone....:scratchin

I sleep in for 20 minutes ONE day, and BAM there is Lisa!

Congrats on the 4 miler....I can't stand x country skiing...I like downhill, where gravity does the work!

Any way, today is 2450 yards swimming and 45 minutes running.

I don't think I'm down any weight for the year, but I only started pushing myself 5 days ago...it took 6 months to gain 20 lbs, it should take a while to lose, no?

Have a great day Goofs!

Mike

BWAHAHAHA...you know you can't beat me (at least on the computer in the morning)....:lmao:

Mike, this is what we do...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QSVGyTQiWQ&feature=related Not around a track like this skier is but this is the way we ski. Our trails are 6-8 feet wide and dragged flat. I like downhill too and my DH prefers that where the chairlift and gravity do all the work. Must be a man thing....:rolleyes1

Well I'm all checked in--moved to a slightly earlier flight--and just have to survive 4 hours of work, then I'm off. It's snowy, blowy and cold here--I'm glad to get to the warm--even if I have to run 13.1 miles to justify it!

Will check in when I get back--Tues am.

Have a great weekend all.

Lisa You're right, can't get on before you, I guess.

Anyway, I got 45 min on the elliptical, and 1500 yards swimming...just didn't have the next 800 in me...I might go back later today to do them, but just didn't have it right then.

That style of xcountry skiing looks sucky to me, too...:rolleyes1

Have a great day Goofs!

Headed to the expo in a few hours. Can't wait!! My husband works at ASSports so I think I am going to park there and take the bus. I've heard traffic and parking will be terrible.

Lisa and Mike: Wow, you two are up and at'em! Good morning! I would like to try x-country skiing sometime! Or maybe snow shoeing! Maybe I will come up and see you sometime Lisa!

I hope everyone making the trek to WDW is ready, has good weather, and travels safely!

I did get to the gym late last night. And ((((good for me!)))) Did my weight workout. I am really gonna try to be more consistent with my weights than last year. :confused3 It's just so easy to skip sometimes! I have also been jumping in the tanning bed for a few minutes at a time. Not so much for tanning, than for a little 'light' therapy. It seems to help some with my seasonal "downers". I miss getting out to run, and hoping that a little bit of artifical light will help. I don't stay in to long, really don't want to hurt my skin........it seems to help the mood though!

Beth

I know what you mean Beth...I was going to run outside today, but the temp was 7, and the wind chill was -4.

No thank you.

Mike

Beth, come on up, we have skis, boots, poles, etcetera. We always save our equipment when we update. I think some other people are planning a visit at the end of February.....:rolleyes1 (Liz???) to learn to ski. I don't have tons of room but maybe I can move my kids out, lol......:lmao:

Funny thing about the cold is I dress exactly the same for skiing and running but I would rather ski in the cold. Go figure. And Mike, I used to think this kind of skiing sucked too until I figured the calorie burn out and it is more than running sprints. :confused3

Carp! 2 months, 1 day... I need to run tonight.

I totally forgot this until I was running back through the posts. So, Megan, fish makes you run faster???? Sorry, I just had to give you some...carp....lol....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: (PS, I do this all the time at my job, thank goodness for spellcheck)
