Before I start with Day 4, I had two notes written in my notebook labeled, "Things to Remember."
1. Pop wake up calls always seemed to go off about 10 to 15 minutes after I had set them for. We experienced this the whole time we were there. If I set the alarm for 6:15, the call wouldn't ring until 6:25 or 6:30. It was slightly annoying but good thing I am obsessive and always set the alarm too.
2. The night before in the pool, Marc has been super excited. About what? The fact that he was getting a tan line from his wedding band. I thought it was hilarious and sweet at the same time. Apparently he was bummed on our honeymoon because we only got sun burnt and his wedding band tan line wasn't sufficient. Hehehe.
Day 4. Part 1.
I did not wake up in the middle of the night in a panick about missing Animal Kingdom. In fact, I didn't wake up until 11AM! Can you believe that? On vacation? At WDW? I couldn't believe it. I can't even remember the last time I slept that long. I will admit after our late night at MK on Sunday and DHS on Monday, it was nice to sleep in and relax.
Of course I didn't relax for long. I woke up like a mad woman needing to not waste any more precious Disney minutes. We headed to Downtown Disney. I didn't write in what time we made it to the bus stop but we did meet this very nice older couple who had just arrived that morning. They were telling us about how much they love Disney and about their previous trips. We did the same. It was a nice way to spend the time waiting for the bus. I do remember it took about 15 or 20 minutes for the bus to come. We were the first ones in line. I love DTD for some reason. Probably because I love to shop. How can you beat shopping surrounded by Disney Magic?
We got there and went straight to Earl of Sandwich. I had been dying to try one of their sandwiches. I went into line and did the ordering process while Marc secured an indoor table. I wanted the AC! Marc ordered the Earl Club and I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ. We each had chips as well, Marc the jalapeño and me the honey BBQ. I had to keep with the theme.
The Club.
Hawaiian BBQ.
Me trying to take a picture of the "insides" of my sandwich.
Marc thought it was good but had doubts that we should have tried Wolfgang Puck Express. I kinda wish we had. Not that Earl was bad but I guess it just didn't live up to the hype that I read on here. It was a very good sandwich but if we went again we would pay OOP and not use the CS credit. We didn't feel it was worth it. I think we had been spoiled already and Earl didn't live up to everything else we had.
After Earl, we went to Mickey's Pantry and bought the two Disney cookbooks. We also bought a wine magnet for MIL since she was watching the kitties. Next up was my favorite store....Days of Christmas!!! I just love that store. I love everything about Christmas. We were in there for quite a bit of time. I knew I wanted to get some ornaments but it was hard deciding and limiting myself to not spending a small fortune. I ended up getting 2 little Hummingbird clip on ornaments for myself and for my mother. We also bought a 2008 Silver Mickey head ornament that is really cool. You will have to wait to see the picture, it's too hard to describe. We also bought it already engraved with the year. We also bought a snowman gift card holder for my mom and dad's Christmas present this year. My mom collects everything snowman and I had never seen one like this so I bought it.
As you can see, I was rather busy shopping and didn't take a whole lot of pictures.
Next up was Art of Disney. I bought 4 post cards that fit in 5x7 frames. I couldn't find a poster that I wanted. Oh well. I did take some pictures though!
I love this. I wish it wasn't so expensive. I wonder if I can find a knockoff print of it.
Outside a little critter greeted us.
Next up was the Under $10 Store. What a little gem! We ended up buying 4 items for $10. They had green stickers on them I believe. We bought a Stitch bank (which is rapidly filling with my change), scissors for the mole skin (stupidly we forgot we would have to CUT it), a castle ornament and monkey ornament(for my brother).
I have to dial back a bit. I forgot to write on Day 3 that I had gone to the gift shop at Pop to buy mole skin. Why? Because Marc forgot to pack it. The moleskin was the first freaking thing we had bought for this trip and he forgot to pack it. He packed it for the honeymoon but not for Disney. Men. So I went to buy it, the nice CM says, "Do you have scissors to cut this?" D'OH! I didn't even think of that. The nice CM let me use his so to cut it into strips. So now I have this cute little blue scissors with a Mickey dangly part.
I hate this picture.
We went to Pin Traders. I bought a mystery bag with two pins in it that have the princess eyes on them and a few others that I can't remember. Don't worry, they will all be pictured in the souvenir post. At this point, Marc wanted to separate so he could buy me some birthday presents. Fine by me. I went into Basin and bought a few things. Soap for MIL and a massage bar for my feet, which reminds me that I haven't used it yet. I went into Once Upon a Toy as well.
FOR TK.
I love this picture.
At that point I went to meet up with Marc. He was in World of Disney in line. I was getting worried about our luggage being able to fit everything in it. I still had things to buy too! I saw that they were selling a rolling duffel bag for $20 if you spent $60. I realize this isn't the greatest of deals but I wanted that duffel bag and I wanted to keep buying!
And. We. Did.
We bought so much stuff that I can't even remember it all but I know it included an Eeyore stuffed animal, a photo album and a mood magnet that is at work and is the best thing ever. I did get a discount with my Disney Visa though.
We left World of Disney and secured all of our purchases in our new rolling duffel. I was done. D. O. N. E. I wanted to go take a nap. I was getting cranky. Of course, we had to go over to Goofy's. There was no one in line and somehow we were there forever it seemed.
The lady doing it seemed new. In fact I think there were a lot of College Program CM's being trained that week. Which makes sense, it's the right time of year. She was very concerned if we wanted all three pretzels sticks the same. I wanted two the same and one different. Marc didn't know so then he wanted three different which was all very confusing. I sat in the seating section and took some pictures.
Our new duffel. It was at this point where I wondered how we were going to get it on the plane and such without paying more money! Eeeek!
Marc then came into the little sitting area and stood there. See that wall behind him? He decided to lean against it. NOT A GOOD IDEA. It moves. He almost wiped out the entire wall and himself. Being the good wife I am, I just sat there and laughed at him and pointed....and made jokes about him being banned from Disney. Hehehe.
I was amazed by the floor. It reminds me of a candy that my grandmother used to always have it her house. Not the Ursula grandmother mind you. I want to know what that candy was called.
Our candy was finally ready and we headed to the bus stop. A bus came after about 5 minutes. It was us and one other couple on it. We made a stop at Typhoon Lagoon and were back to Pop at 3:45PM. As we sat on the bus, I regretted not getting one of those slushie drinks at Goofy's. That would have been really yummy for the way back. We hadn't meant to stay at DTD this late. I had wanted to take a nap but didn't really have time since we had to leave for the Poly and our Kona ADR.
I was beginning to doubt going out tonight. I didn't feel like it.
How were we going to get to the Poly?
Was Kona worth it?
Did I really want to see the Electrical Water Pageant?
Wouldn't it be better going to a park?
Could we do both?
**Can you believe I have a whole post with no light fixtures? What has the world come too?**
