It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

That's really sweet, and I LOVE that pic. I can't wait to see that @ MK. I'm still in disbelief that I must've walked past the same statue at Disneyland a gazillion times during our trip in 2006 and never even noticed it. :sad2: It will be something I probably tear up over.
I think the statue is very powerful if you are a Disney nut. It's amazing that from one man, everything Disney is here for us to enjoy.

Just started reading your TR, and I'm enjoying it, you took wonderful pictures.
Welcome! Thanks for reading!

No wonder you were exhausted when you got home! :goodvibes

BTW, did you find any other series the other day when you were looking?
For some reason I feel bad if I sleep in too late even if I went to bed really really late. It's something in my DNA. :lmao:

I requested a few books from a couple different series from the library. I can't remember their names but once I start reading I will let you know. I found an Anne Rice book that has the first four vampire books in it so I think I am going to buy that.

Day 3. Part 1.

After our very late evening, we had a wake up call set for 9:15. Because I am OCD about not missing an alarm, I also set our alarm for 9:20. The alarm woke me up and I was in the shower when our wake up call went off around 9:30. I got a frantic, "What do I do?" from Marc. Ummm...answer it. I was actually pretty miffed that the wake up calls were so late from when I set them for.

We were at the Epcot bus stop by 10:10AM. There was a ginormous line. I think this was the biggest bus line of the whole week. Which made me worry that the park was going to be beyond crowded, I was cursing my sleeping in. I knew we wouldn't make the first bus but luckily just as the first bus was pulling, a second one pulled in. Which brings me to a question. Why aren't the Pop bus stops covered? It annoys me to no end. It's hot. It's Florida. Give us some shade DISNEY! Rant over.

We get to Epcot, I go through the bag check which is about as inconsistent as swiss cheese. We had a game plan. After some photopass pictures, we were going to split up. I had a photo op I wanted to catch and Marc was headed to get Soarin' fast passes for after our lunch at Coral Reef.

Marc had NO idea what was going on with the Tinkerbell picture and asked me when we had finished. He had no idea why they would make me stare at my hand which just goes to prove that my husband does not listen to me AT ALL when I talk about Disney.

At this point, Marc starts to panic about splitting up. And by splitting up I mean he was going towards Soarin' and I was going towards Nemo. Seriously. He was all a flutter that he was going to get lost. So like a good wife, I reassure him and point him in the right direction. I go towards Nemo to get a photo op that I had seen on someone else's TR. I wanted a picture of the monorail going past Spaceship Earth. There is a good vantage point over by Nemo so I staked my claim on a the wall by the Nemo characters and received many dirty looks from parents trying to get pictures of their kids by Nemo. I was over by the blowfish. Chill people. I didn't get my Nemo picture since everyone was constantly in my way so there. :snooty:

My test shot.

Waiting for the monorail.

\

And then it was gone and I realized I had gotten part of The Seas sign. D'oh! Oh well, there is always next trip. So I waited for Marc and took more pictures.

At this point, Marc was back with our Soarin Fastpasses. This is actually the first time I have ever used Fastpass so I was pretty excited.

2867356287_bc67e2a41e.jpg

Good job Marc!
2867357443_d7106c685f.jpg

It was around 11 at this point. So we headed over to Coral Reef for our 11:30 ADR.

2868191970_1e69bfce06.jpg

2868196990_539d24ec1a.jpg

I didn't want to go do a ride and then be late so we decided to be early and sit in the AC. There was a sign at the desk that check in would begin at 11:15. So I sat, annoying Marc with asking what time it was a bazillion times.

Cool Jellyfish lights.

2868206142_42eac98eab.jpg

2867370237_d47644c4ba.jpg

Finally it was time to check in. I was behind a few people who had been waiting at the desk. I couldn't believe the amount of people who didn't have ADR's and how they would become ENRAGED at the CM's. It was a bit ridiculous. One guy was able to get a table at 11:45, then he complains that it's too early. Either take it or leave it, dude. The lady in front of me was a party of one and they were able to squeeze her in. It's finally my turn and I quietly confirm that my personalized menu is all set for Marc. I was super excited about ti. Everything is fine so I go sit back down. The lady that had been in front of me started talking about how she couldn't get any reservations anywhere. I told her it was free dining and she looks at me and says, "Well I have an annual pass." I wanted to reply, well you should know better then. But I kept the snark inside.

We were seated right at 11:30 and we got the best table ever right in front of the aquarium. Guess who joined us for lunch?

2868208842_1d38385f6e.jpg

A giant sea turtle!

It was the best ever. He sat right by our table during our whole meal. At this point, the CM who sat us had said "your personalized menu is all set." I mean, why didn't she hand it to Marc and I instead of telling him what it was. It really annoyed me. But Marc, bless him was completely oblivious and I had to point out the menu to him.

2867383395_9b4543bddd.jpg

It turned out really well. Marc loved it and couldn't believe that I had done that for him. :lovestruc Then he asked how much it cost. Pfffft. MEN! I told him it was free and that he was a jerk in the most loving way ever and took more pictures of our dinner guest.

2867391389_dbdba152df.jpg

At this point, the solo lady from earlier was sat right next to us. Boo. She even got a fish guide, we didn't. Boo. She was awfully chatty and annoying. Oh well. So I guess you could say we had two dinner guests. The waitress told us that our sea turtle always came and sat right near our table. She wasn't sure what he liked about it but that he did most of the time. She also told us that he can stay underwater for up to an hour.

At this point our sea turtle friend decided that it was time to get some air. It was very neat watching him push himself up to swim.

Right after our appetizers came. Yep, we decided to get appetizers and pay for them out of pocket.

Marc got the shrimp with seaweed salad.
2868273780_d4cb00b8ca.jpg

I got the crab cake.
2867454325_105f8a8fce.jpg

I have to say that the seawood salad was YUMMY. So good, neither of us had tried it before and we both loved it. The crab cake was good too, very potato-y. Which was good but I wasn't in love with it or anything.

My one complaint about Coral Reef is that all of our food came out very quickly. I was glad I hadn't decided on a dessert when she took our order because if I had it probably would have been served with our entrees!

I got an action shot of Marc dipping his bread.
2868279188_1c152952b3.jpg

At this point our sea turtle friend had come back but he was a bit behind us in front of the table behind us. Which was great because there was a little kid in their party and they loved seeing him up close. Plus, we got tired of people coming over to our table and taking pictures with their flashes.

He decided it was time for a nap.
2867456711_401d78b050.jpg

There were two reasons why I booked Coral Reef.
1. On a Full House episode, Danny Tanner ate there, and Joey and Jesse were in the big tank in scuba gear.
2. Lobster Soup.

We both ended up ordering the lobster salad and lobster soup with toasted baguettes.
2868294526_215b02d133.jpg

Marc adored our entire lunch, he loved the lobster salad and soup. I was a bit...disapointed. I think being from Maine and loving seafood that it just wasn't up to par with my seafood expectations. Don't get me wrong, it was very good, it just wasn't as Yummo as I would have liked. I did like that you could put the lobster salad on the bread.

Day 3. Part 1. Continued.

Throughout our entire meal I took an insane amount of aquarium pictures. I am probably only showing you half of the ones I took!

2867472129_ede1afb010.jpg

It was good but too rich for me. I also felt like I had buzz by the time I hate half of it. Even Marc thought it was a little "strong".

Marc had the Key Lime Tart.
2867473959_f20d2716c9.jpg

I was immediatly jealous that I hadn't gotten that once I tried it. He was a good husband and let me have a few bites.

After our meal, Marc kept saying that Coral Reef was the best one we had yet at WDW. He was very happy and was asking if we could go again next trip. I, on the other hand enjoyed our experience very much. But I think there are other places I would like to try first before going back to Coral Reef.

We were off to Soarin' to use our Fastpasses! I was so excited to ride it. Ironically, even though we had Fastpasses this was the ride that we waited the longest for. Go figure. The CM's kept telling us that there were "cloudy conditions" which irritated Marc greatly. Somebody had his cranky pants on. The solo lady from lunch came out of the line, she must have been further up than us and told us very helpfully, "It's broken." Thankfully that was the last time we saw her. We probably waited about 25 - 30 minutes to ride this and of course we were behind the most annoying people ever. Whose son kept playing with the metal chain and then it kept breaking apart slapping peoples legs. Sigh. After the 3rd time I was ready to speak to him but I don't do that to strange children so I resisted. A couple of people back was this real rough looking biker dude with a leather vest that was full length down to the ground. I was thinking to myself, wow he is hardcore and then I reailzed that he had Disney Pins on every surface of the vest as well as his leather cowboy hat. This amused me greatly. A CM came out and told us one of the ride seatbelts had broken so they had to remedy the situation. Marc's seatbelt anxiety went up, he was really afraid the belt wouldn't fit him. So we finally get into line and watch the preflight video. I just loved Patrick Warburton, he was great. We laughed, we were ready for take off.

We got into the theater and it's just amazing. Really. Marc and I watch the Travel Channel constantly and we have seen the guy who came up with the Soarin idea with his erector set explain it 50 million times. Marc does a great impression of him as we laugh and mock the poor imagineer. In fact as we were walking in, Marc started his erector set speech which had me in giggles. We get to our row and Marc's seatbelt is locked. He can't get it unfastened. He is in panic mode, like the ride is going to take off without him. I told him that a CM would be around and that it would be taken care of. Which is what happend. We did read about a tip on allears about pulling the seatbelt all the way out before sitting down and we did do this and it was helpful. The seatbelts were huge though and we both had plenty of extra room to spare. It was hard getting the seatbelt fastenend as you couldn't really see but we managed.

I was amazed by the fact that you could leave your shoes on the floor. I am simple, I can admit it. Finally we were ready for takeoff. Man. What an amazing ride. Simply amazing. We were in the back row so of course we didn't go up as high as the first row, next time we go I am going to request the front row. Not that we had a bad ride or anything but I want a better effect. As we were getting off the ride and walking out to the Land pavillion, Marc said, "I feel bad for making fun of the Imagineer Guy. He really knew what he was doing." I laughed. Sadly, I have not heard the Imagineer Guy impression again. *Sniff Sniff*

We decided that we wanted to head back to Pop since we had a late night ahead of us at Hollywood Studios. Marc wanted to purchase a straw hat at Mousegears so he went in to look for that and I went in to purchase the pink pirate mickey ears hat. Sadly they only ha dchild sizes and I wasn't in to making my larger head look even smaller. We did buy a Mickey Mouse shaped ice cube tray. I love those Mickey Mouse ice cubes. They put a little Disney into my ice water everyday.

2868328800_b67962d67b.jpg

We rode Spaceship Earth again. It was enjoyable and we made funny faces. We also walked right on. Not a single moment of waiting.

2867477199_a0bb5b739a.jpg

Why? I just don't get the go-go boots with yellow tights and a plaid skirt.
2867483757_bbddb71186.jpg

We sat in our own cars so that's why we have seperate pictures.

We went into another store on the way out in search of my Pink Pirate Ears, and alas they didn't have any. I did find some cute pink sparkly mouse ear boppers for only $6. I thought this was immense bargain and immediatly purchased them along with a postcard that is long with all the characters on it. It hangs in my work cubicle now. I'm all about bringing Disney to real life.

2867494619_aa00da4519.jpg

We took some photopass pictures on the way out.

2868461662_865193f030.jpg

We waited about 10 minutes for a bus and were back to Pop by 3:30. We wanted to go for a swim but the 50's pool was closed. We decided to trek over to Hippy Dippy. It was crowded but enjoyable. I really enjoyed the Flower Jets. It was nice to have water sprayed on you. After our shower we chilled in the room a bit. I thought we took a nap this day but I don't have that written down. Hmmm. Oh well. Anyways, after our swim we showered and left our room at 6:30PM for our night at Hollywood Studios.

What DISer did I take a picture for at DHS?
What spontaneous ADR did we make?
Where does LL have a snit fit?

AWESOME updates!!! :worship: Way to come through for me, LL, when I'm experiencing my regular Sunday evening work dread. This is just what I needed!! :goodvibes

The alarm woke me up and I was in the shower when our wake up call went off around 9:30. I got a frantic, "What do I do?" from Marc. Ummm...answer it.

These are amazing. And the lime green monorail as a bonus!!! I don't even notice the Seas sign until you point it out. I think this is another picture I'm going to have to "steal." I already have your photo of the pumpkin mickey head on Main Street as a screen saver and I think I'm going to need this one too! You really do have a talent!

Cool Jellyfish lights.

Those are way cool!!!! :thumbsup2

I got an action shot of Marc dipping his bread.
:lmao:

That sea turtle is too cool. Although it would be annoying w/ people coming up to your table to take pictures.

There were two reasons why I booked Coral Reef.
1. On a Full House episode, Danny Tanner ate there, and Joey and Jesse were in the big tank in scuba gear.
2. Lobster Soup.

2 excellent reasons. I'm going to have to check the tv guide to see when that full house episode repeats... I don't think I've seen that and I'm a big Uncle Jesse fan! ;)

For dessert I ordered the Jack Daniel's Bailey Mousse thing.
2867472129_ede1afb010.jpg

It was good but too rich for me. I also felt like I had buzz by the time I hate half of it.

Dude! A dessert that gives you a buzz! :thumbsup2 ;)

After our meal, Marc kept saying that Coral Reef was the best one we had yet at WDW. He was very happy and was asking if we could go again next trip.

Way to go!! He's already talking about the next trip!! :)

The solo lady from lunch came out of the line, she must have been further up than us and told us very helpfully, "It's broken." Thankfully that was the last time we saw her.

Oh dear. I hope I'm not an annoying solo lady when I go in October. :sad2:

I was amazed by the fact that you could leave your shoes on the floor.

Didi you try that? I plan to on my next trip. Hopefully my feet don't smell... wouldn't be quite as welcome as the orange grove scent! ;)

We did buy a Mickey Mouse shaped ice cube tray. I love those Mickey Mouse ice cubes. They put a little Disney into my ice water everyday.

I may need these!

Awesome, awesome update. Looking forward to hearing about the DIS'er picture, the snit fit :scared1: and the spontaneous ADR (during free dining!!!!)

Fantastic updates!

I love the photos of the turtle, DUDE!!!

And I have a small request. I know there are lots of things that you want to try at Disney, but please, give the Coral Reef a second chance, and please go for dinner. I swear, it's awesome. And the Key Lime Tart is to die for. I can't reveal too much more, because we're coming up on it in my trip report, but honestly, it's so much better at dinner. My humble opinion.

I love that you take so many photos. I know it feels like a lot, but I sure do appreciate them, because I don't really take all those kinds of shots. I'm more interested in whether or not the three of us are smiling! :lmao: That's why I loved the photopass. I love the pics of you and Marc with the hat and pink Mickey bobble headband. Too cute!:goodvibes

Great update. I have a monorail shot from the same location. If you want to...feel free to steal mine when I get it up!

Great report on Coral Reef (love the Full House reference btw). We have yet to eat there. I'm somewhat freaked out about eating seafood with fish watching me. Call it Catholic guilt :lmao: Your food porn is making me want to try it though!

Isn't Soarin the best? I have been in every row. Let me tell you, the view is not much different other than you don't have to look at people's feet in front of you! Did you spot the Hidden Mickey????

Dang, I should've at least bought these! Did you see the ENTIRE kitchen set available?? You could outfit your entire kitchen - from a dishwasher clean/dirty thingy to a set of dishes to the apron to the serving utensils....well, you get the idea! I wanted it. All.

DH said "When we move to Florida I'll get you this stuff for your new southern kitchen."

Love. Him.

Possibly one of the cutest DIS pictures ever posted.... :goodvibes

Great update LL!!!!!

.

That was so cool that you had a sea turtle buddy for lunch (NOturltesoup). I love sea turtles. I was lucky enough to swim with one in Hawaii.

You are back! How was your trip!? I can't wait to hear about it. I finished the Twilight series this week. All I have to say is Oh. My. God. So good!

The trip was fantastic!!!!! Disney was everything that i wanted it to be and more. I have finally started the report...Thanks for the tip on how to link the posts I really appricate it.

I am so glad that you liked the Twilight series. What did you think of Breaking Dawn? I really liked it, but I know a lot of people were not satisfied with it.

I just read your new updates and your DH and my DH have the same shirt with the guitar on it. And what is even funnier the straw hat that he bought DH tried it on like a hundred times. I told him if he wanted it to buy it but he never did. Although he did become fond of Mickey Ears lol.

Great update I can't wait to read more, it makes me feel like I am back there. We may try the Coral Reef next visit. I am glad to hear that it was good.

Marc had NO idea what was going on with the Tinkerbell picture and asked me when we had finished. He had no idea why they would make me stare at my hand which just goes to prove that my husband does not listen to me AT ALL when I talk about Disney.

Mine doesn't either -- it's like he hears me say, "So, at WDW..." and immediately tunes me out.

And then it was gone and I realized I had gotten part of The Seas sign. D'oh! Oh well, there is always next trip. So I waited for Marc and took more pictures.

You can probably crop that out, though! Good job getting the monorail and SSE! :thumbsup2

My favorite ride at Epcot!!! :goodvibes

Why? I just don't get the go-go boots with yellow tights and a plaid skirt.

I think the same thing everytime I see that scene. Surely, computer engineers didn't really dress like that even if it was in the 1960's!

Thanks to you, LL, I may have to purchase and wear my very own Mickey bobbles next year!

What DISer did I take a picture for at DHS?
What spontaneous ADR did we make?
Where does LL have a snit fit?

Tell me you didn't pull a Toy Story Mania!!! :rotfl2:

Keep up the good work, LL. I'm loving your
report. I keep a notebook beside my puter
and I make myself notes for our trip because
you have taken pics of stuff I've never seen!!:rotfl:

I love that you got to hang with Crush during lunch, LL!

It turned out really well. Marc loved it and couldn't believe that I had done that for him. :lovestruc Then he asked how much it cost. Pfffft. MEN! I told him it was free and that he was a jerk in the most loving way ever and took more pictures of our dinner guest.

Continued....

This scenerio made me roll my eyes. :sad2: The CMs there should know that those personalized menus are obviously surprises! Not to mention a lot of work. DUH! Keep your mouths shut people! Luckily he didn't notice; then to ask how much it cost...that is totally what my DH would do! :lmao:

Great update! And love the tip about the Mickey ice cubes. I have got it in my head that jewelry and kitchen supplies would be the best use of souvie money for me............

AWESOME updates!!! :worship: Way to come through for me, LL, when I'm experiencing my regular Sunday evening work dread. This is just what I needed!!
I'll try to remember to update on Sundays!

[Overall, what did you think of the bus service at Pop?
It's not that the bus service was bad at all. It was just really crowded, especially on the way back from the parks. We had to stand a lot of the time which I am not crazy about after a long day at the parks. We were never late for any of our ADR's. The stops are usually the furthest away at the parks too, except for DHS. That one is pretty close which was nice!

Thank you so much! Feel free to steal any pics. :goodvibes

[2 excellent reasons. I'm going to have to check the tv guide to see when that full house episode repeats... I don't think I've seen that and I'm a big Uncle Jesse fan!
It's a two part episode. It's one of my favorites!

[Way to go!! He's already talking about the next trip!!
He talks about it more than I do. Though, he is convinced 2010 is fine. I am more of the thinking if we can sneak in a 2009 trip that we will. :lmao:

[Oh dear. I hope I'm not an annoying solo lady when I go in October.
I am sure you won't be. This lady had attitude so that is what made her annoying.

[Didi you try that? I plan to on my next trip. Hopefully my feet don't smell... wouldn't be quite as welcome as the orange grove scent!
I didn't. I had on my Mary Jane crocs so they were fine. Although on our second trip I was worried they were going to fall off. I'm a freak. ;)

[Awesome, awesome update. Looking forward to hearing about the DIS'er picture, the snit fit :scared1: and the spontaneous ADR (during free dining!!!!)
:rolleyes1

Too cute!
I will for sure go back to Coral Reef but there are too many other places that I would like to try first. Some of our ADR's I do plan to repeat but in my opinion they were better than Coral Reef therefore worth it. You haven't steered me wrong yet with an ADR. ;)

I love taking photos. I hope that when we have little nuggets that I will still take pictures, maybe not as many as I do but I really love taking them.

Great update. I have a monorail shot from the same location. If you want to...feel free to steal mine when I get it up!

Great report on Coral Reef (love the Full House reference btw). We have yet to eat there. I'm somewhat freaked out about eating seafood with fish watching me. Call it Catholic guilt Your food porn is making me want to try it though!

Isn't Soarin the best? I have been in every row. Let me tell you, the view is not much different other than you don't have to look at people's feet in front of you! Did you spot the Hidden Mickey????
I just might have to steal it from you!
Coral Reef is a great experience. I think your DD would really get a kick out of the aquarium. It's a nice feel.
I didn't spot the Hidden Mickey! Soarin was great, that is the ride I find myself wanting to ride the most now that I am home.

[/I][/B]
Love the erector set guy!! (whom I've also seen easily 50 million times....)

We love him too. Sadly we haven't seen him since we've gotten back. I think it's time.

[/I][/B]
Dang, I should've at least bought these! Did you see the ENTIRE kitchen set available?? You could outfit your entire kitchen - from a dishwasher clean/dirty thingy to a set of dishes to the apron to the serving utensils....well, you get the idea! I wanted it. All.

DH said "When we move to Florida I'll get you this stuff for your new southern kitchen."

Love. Him.
You've got a keeper that's for sure! I really wanted the whole kitchen set but I resisted. I really wanted the clean/dirty thing for the dishwasher but Marc looked at me funny. Then we came home and he double washed a load of dishes. Told you so.....:rolleyes1

[/I][/B]
Possibly one of the cutest DIS pictures ever posted.... :goodvibes
:lmao: Thanks!

That was so cool that you had a sea turtle buddy for lunch (NOturltesoup). I love sea turtles. I was lucky enough to swim with one in Hawaii.
That would be so awesome. I really want to swim with Manatees. You can do that near Orlando I have seen but I never want to give up a Disney day. :rotfl:

You are very welcome. I love Breaking Dawn, I don't want to say too much because I know someone is currently reading the series but I LOVED IT. I thought it was great.

That is too funny about the guitar shirt and straw hat! :lmao:

Mine doesn't either -- it's like he hears me say, "So, at WDW..." and immediately tunes me out.
What jerks. ;)

Because it's not a LL update, if we don't get lights! ;)
That's right! ::yes::

I think the same thing everytime I see that scene. Surely, computer engineers didn't really dress like that even if it was in the 1960's!
It's completely ridiculous.

Thanks to you, LL, I may have to purchase and wear my very own Mickey bobbles next year!
I think they are great. I enjoyed them quite a bit for only $6!

Tell me you didn't pull a Toy Story Mania!!!
:lmao: I did not pull a Toy Story Mania but I wasn't very nice either. :rolleyes1

Keep up the good work, LL. I'm loving your
report. I keep a notebook beside my puter
and I make myself notes for our trip because
you have taken pics of stuff I've never seen!!
Thank you so much! I had one of those notebooks before my trip too!

I love that you got to hang with Crush during lunch, LL!
It was awesome. I think it was one of the coolest things to happen on our trip.

What a fantastic update LL, you've really brightened up my morning...thanks honey:goodvibes
You are very welcome! I like updating on Sundays because on Monday morning I can read all of the comments. :goodvibes

:lmao:
Seriously. I don't understand why she couldn't just hand them to us. Instead she showed me and then set them down on the table and handed us the regular menus. Pffft!

Great update! And love the tip about the Mickey ice cubes. I have got it in my head that jewelry and kitchen supplies would be the best use of souvie money for me............
I wish I had bought more kitchen supplies. I love my ice cubes!

LL---love the multi-part update!!! It was great!!! SO loved that that turtle hung out with you guys during your lunch!!! I loved how laid back and relaxed your day was at Epcot!!! Way to go!!!! Can't wait for more!

I just might have to steal it from you!
Coral Reef is a great experience. I think your DD would really get a kick out of the aquarium. It's a nice feel.
I didn't spot the Hidden Mickey! Soarin was great, that is the ride I find myself wanting to ride the most now that I am home.

Well here is the tip for the next time...Hidden Mickey is on the golf ball that flies at your face!
