It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

This counts as an update because....LL is going to WDW because of Wedding stress. :goodvibes

I need opinions, loyal DIS'ers. First though, I need to give you a little background. I have a hate/love/hate relationship with my hair. Shocker! What woman doesn't? When I was growing up, I had massively thick hair. I mean so thick that my mom would try to put a pony (that's what I called them back in the day) and she could barely get the elastic to go around twice. It was that thick. My grandmother and aunt on my dad's side had/have very very very thin hair. My mom says that when she was pregnant with me she prayed and hoped that I would have thick beautiful hair because she didn't want a bald daughter. My mom, she's got her priorities straight. Anyways, growing up, all through high school up until college, I had thick beautiful hair. Then I discovered hair dye and a stressful relationship and my hair turned thin and limp and couldn't do a thing with it! I think a combination of wishing for thinner hair growing up, hair dye, not eating properly and a stressful home life with the ex led to a LL with very thin, yucky hair. Needless to say, I want thick beautiful hair. It has gotten thicker, I take better care, eat better and just pamper it much better. Though, not as thick as I would like.
I have a secret desire for hair extensions/fake hair in general to give me this boost. I think this is way I watch America's Next Top Model because I obsess over all the different things they can do with extensions, I also enjoy the photography aspect of the show. Anyways....today I did it. I went to Sally Beauty Supply with my mom and DF and bought some hair pieces for the wedding! We dyed my hair as well, and will be highlighting it closer to the wedding to match a little better. I want you guys to tell me your opinion, does it look really really fake? Does it look good? Will I look at these pictures ten years from now and ask myself, what the heck was I thinking? I plan to keep my veil on throughout the wedding, there is no dancing, so I don't think it will bother me too much. I love the body and oomph of the hair, but I don't want to look like a fool.
Here is my hair, "waiting" for me.

So, what do you guys think? My real hair will be highlighted so it will match just a bit better. Will I regret this? Please help me wise fashion guru's!!

Okay, I am totally with you on America's Next Top Model...I'd like to pretend that as an artist I'm interested in the beauty, and the photography, but also...I'm not ashamed...on Wednesday nights I would grab a glass of wine, make DH take care of bedtime duties for DS an settle down to watch my "insert not nice word here" women! :lmao:

I think the hair piece does look very nice, but if you don't get the color match, you may regret in your photos. As long as your highlights are similar, it's actually a very natural piece.

I guess the question is, do you feel comfortable?

Edit: Also, I love your veil! It's beautiful, and you really look like you'll make a lovely bride!

I'm with TK: as long as you get your hair highlighted to match, it will be perfect! It looks very, very natural!

I,also, love the veil! It's gorgeous!

I know, it's great!

I do feel comfortable and I really like the way it looks, especially in the outdoor pictures with the veil, it looks like it really matches. It will only get better with the highlights. I just don't want to look back like I do with so many photographs of myself and ask myself what the heck was I thinking?!?!

Edit: Also, I love your veil! It's beautiful, and you really look like you'll make a lovely bride!
Awww! Thanks. My mom actually did the beading on it, and the beading on my dress. That woman is talented!
I like how we put the veil in my hair today, it was more up front and more princess/tiara like, which is what I originally wanted.

Yup, LL has lists for the resorts. :goodvibes

Pop Century Resort

Slushie Coke(s) --- I will make sure that DF and I toast to the TK Family. :drinking1
Here, here! For example, if I run into Mary Poppins on my trip, I will first think of my mother (her favorite), then immediately think of you. Practically perfect! :)

Corny Pictures --- I love photos, they make me happy. I want lots of corny pictures with all the huge Pop Culture icons around the property. Looking at all these types of pictures on tripadvisor and allears is what made me want to stay at Pop, as well as the great reviews of their bus system.
I charge you with this. You must, must, must do these photos as I need to live vicariously through and require to see them on your future trip report. Please, if at all possible, snag a photo op with Mr. Tato and think of TK's DS. ;)

Towel Animals --- I heart towel animals, even though I have never had one. I want them. I really hope that mousekeeping will leave us one...some...many. I know I have no control over this, but I will be using some of those oh so cute tip envelopes to sweeten the pot. ;)
We have always gotten them here, so odds are good.:thumbsup2

Memory Lane --- I would like to take a stroll down Memory Lane....more pictures as well.
If you're feeling fancy, you could always get your picture taken by the year you were born, too.

Window --- Yup, I wrote window. I am toying with the idea of decorating my window. Perhaps some LGMH's?? Perhaps not, who knows? I will figure it out.
I had full intentions to decorate our window when we were staying at Pop. You can get some great Disney themed window clings at the Dollar Tree, and other fun stuff!

Swim --- I want to swim! Would you believe that in the 2 1/2 years that DF and I have been together that we have never gone swimming together?! Yikes. This is shocking to me because I love to swim, I used to live for it but have been so busy the last two summers that it just hasn't happened. I plan to rectify this while on the cruise. Hippy Dippy pool here I come. That's just fun to say. Hippy Dippy.
Swim, LL, swim! By all means. And it is fun to say Hippy Dippy.

Pressed Pennies --- DF and I have decided after finding a huge 16 page list on the different types of pressed pennies that we would like to start collecting them or at least get a few. The cute DF even went through our coin jar and picked out the pre-1982 ones, because we read those ones press better. We want to get all of the penny offerings at both resorts we are staying at for a little trip memento.
Never done it, but it sounds like something fun for the two of you. Excellent!

After typing this out, it doesn't seem that involved but then again once you get to back from the parks, I think it's more about recovery and relaxation.
It may not be involved, but it gives you a purpose and gets you excited about your resort. And despite my jumping ship, Pop is a really, really cool resort.:thumbsup2

I'm with TK: as long as you get your hair highlighted to match, it will be perfect! It looks very, very natural!

I,also, love the veil! It's gorgeous!

Thank you! I am confident that we will get the match. I wanted to wait to highlight so my hair didn't fry completely, we are going to do it two weeks from now.

You will be beautiful and never ever wonder what you were thinking! I love all my wedding photos and most of my other photos I think, "Yikes! Is that really me???"

Aww! Yeah for Mary Poppins!

I hope so! I think I am just super critical because I enjoy photos so much and love displaying them so I want them to be as close to perfection as I can get.

I'm all linked up. That's right, I just put the links on the first post, to all the updates/chapters for this Pre-Trip Report. Whew. That is quite a job. Thanks CP for telling me the secret to linking the posts!! :goodvibes

When I gain weight, I gain it in the belly first and it does make me look a little big, even when I have not gained much, it is very noticable... So I was trying on dresses for a wedding and came out of the dressing room at Dress Barn, and the associate who helped finish zipping me up asked me how far along I was.... :furious: I turned to her and asked her to unzip me and I told her I wasn't pregnant and that they lost their sale.

Yup, I gain it in the stomach first, too. I'm a pencil/ruler body type--like most models. Not that I have the body of a model by any means. But it does get very frustrating that my legs and arms tend to stay rather lean while all my weight gain goes straight to the abdomen. I'm sure I'd lose at least one pants size, maybe two, if I were more "evenly distributed."

Not to mention the difficulty of finding jeans that aren't too hippy for me. Sigh.

I think the hair piece does look very nice, but if you don't get the color match, you may regret in your photos. As long as your highlights are similar, it's actually a very natural piece.

Listen to the wise ladies; it'll look great with your hair highlighted. :goodvibes

And yes, LL, take pictures galore!

Thank you, Thank you.

As a side note, I sent the pictures of my hair to my Aunt, who is also taking our wedding photos. She is very fashionable and I envy the way she does her hair and clothes. Anyways, I didn't tell her that it was a hair piece and she told my mom this morning that my hair looked great. She didn't even realize it was a hair piece until my mom told her! With the kind words from you ladies and "duping" my Aunt, LL is wearing the hair piece. I am even more excited for the wedding, if that is even possible. My mom keeps referring to me as Goldilocks.

The hair looks great, and the hightlights will make it fit with your original hair more. :goodvibes

And I love the veil! Your mom did an awesome job with your veil!

Thank you so much. My mom is just so talented. I am dying to show everyone pictures of my wedding dress that my mom made but I am holding off until the big reveal of wedding/honeymoon pictures.

"I know what that means, Congratulations." I thought she had seen my engagement ring, that was my only thought because what the heck else would she talking about. I said, "Thank You". Then she goes to me, "Do you know what you are having?" Ugh. I had this blank look on my face or at least it felt that way, I glance at DF whose mouth is gaping open. I look at her and feeling close to tears, I say, "Nope." I was absolutely horrified that she thought I was pregnant, I immediately feel like a fat cow and just want to get the heck out of dodge.

Aw sweetie, please don't be so mean to yourself as a result of someone else's ignorance! I agree with everyone else on here and saying that she is obviously completely clueless.

And what a sweetie your DF is for doing everything he can to make you feel better.

Towel Animals --- I heart towel animals, even though I have never had one. I want them. I really hope that mousekeeping will leave us one...some...many.

We got one every night on our Carnival cruise and I would get so excited to come back to the room to see what we would have. My favorites were the monkey and the elephant. I took pictures of them all!

I agree with my sis TK, as long as you feel comfortable and the color is spot on, go with it! It's very pretty. You're going to be a beautiful bride!

:flower3:

You are gonna be so beautiful!! I'm just about to cry! I'm such a sucker for weddings. What a sap I am.

Consider it done.

Thanks. I feel better, it's just annoying. DF is a great guy, I found myself a keeper. ;)

I hpe we do too. My mom was sad because she only got two but I think because I have never had a towel animal that I will be happy with anything!

Awww...don't cry!! I am the same way though, I cry at just about every wedding. My goal is to get DF to cry/shed a tear as I am walking down the aisle. :goodvibes

I like the hairpiece with the veil. Just bring it with you for your highlights and they can get the color just how you want it. It looks beautiful.
