I stayed there at the end of 2008. I liked it. I originally booked the Poly, but got a pin and it couldnt be used at the Poly, so ended up at the Contemp. There were 6 of us there and another 5 at the GF. We ONLY chose a monorail resort because we had 2 little ones with us and elderly Mom. We threw them on the monorail after lunch so they could take their naps. It was very convenient. Other than that, we would have saved thousands staying at another resort, just as nice. The monorail resorts get LOTS of traffic with the dining guests, curious guests etc.. Im afraid too, with the opening of BLT, the Contemp would be extra crowded with the 2000+ more guests..especially using the monorail.

I would never tell anyone how to spend their money, just wanted to give my experience!

Hmmm thanks for the info. Actually suddenly my mom discovered the GF and she booked us there with a theme park view because that was the cheapest they had. It's our first deluxe and we're pretty excited since the GF is kind of a 'bucket list' do before you die kinda thing for us. I hope Nov won't be crowded though I'm sure people will come to look around it especially if Christmas decorations are up. Though the transportation is our biggest thing.

Nice choice, you'll love it! My sis stayed there with her family. They loved it. Now start saving for the Disney Dooney's they sell at the gift shop!

I just ( I mean JUST, I watched the email come in at 12:09, lol) got a 20/30/40 for dates through Dec. 16th!!!! It came to the email I registered Monday. I registered, saved a couple offers, came back later and deleted them, and saved 2 itineraries.

I am not sure we'll use it, we have to compare figures now between the rack rate+Discount and Free Dining...but I have it. And I'm happy!!!! Yay for more options!!

Husband got one at 12:09 as well for his existing yahoo address which I registered at WDW.com on Monday Morning .

Just got one too!!!

Set up a new yahoo account Tuesday, checked vac packages but did not save, then saved an itinerary saying we were staying offsite. Came to my e-mail this morning at 10:00 MST.

Don't give up!

Got the 20/30/40 % pin today in my husbands yahoo acct....followed exact tips, one week ago. Set up a new Disney acct in his name, saved a few offers...deleted them....created itinerary saying" off site due to cost"....came in his yahoo acct today at noon.
Also...we had already booked( approx 1 month ago) a 2BR BCV so that didn't hurt our chances. Bad news...no available 2BR BCV's with discount....there are Bay Lake Tower 2BR's available...or 2 rooms at the BC...but those would roughly be $120 more-not bad...but EVERY penny helps. SO now...do I wait and see about a free dining offer. Back to Disney number crunching...which I get a "F" in

If I were you, I would book what I could now with the pin and then see if it is a better deal with the FD promo and switch to the better of the 2. Good luck!
