By close I mean within a few hours drive--my mom and my in-laws are on the other side of the country and that's a little too far (most of the time). Right now I'd like to send most of my family on the other side of the country, though.

I remember that age... when DS was 5, I think his mouth was in CONSTANT motion!

Thankfully, it passed quickly. Now, at 12, it's hard to get him to talk at all.

Okay, Mom. Cut the crap. I know this is you. These lame attempts to disguise yourself (changing my age, claiming you live in New Jersey, etc.) aren't fooling me. If you want me to stop calling you so much, just say so. You don't have to create an alternate identity on the DIS just to get your point across!

I have a "friend" like this! She calls me at home and then on my cell and interrupts stuff all the time!! I am at my wit's end with her and DH & I have agreed to change both of those numbers after oldest DS leaves for college. She will call right in the middle of meetings she knows I am attending (because she is supposed to be there, too) and calls us after 10:00 at night, which I would never do to someone else!!

Have you been blunt and told her you think she's rude and to knock it off? I had a friend like that and I had to be very blunt with her and she actually thanked me for it since everyone else simply stopped being her friend--I was the only one who put her in her place, but continued to be her friend. We've drifted apart a bit now, but I know that she would be there for me and me for her if need be.

Actually, DH and I have discussed this! She is very 'needy' and acts 'spoiled' (wants that NOW and demands it) and I have been very, very tolerant of her ways for a couple of years now. I have always felt a bit sorry for her because people will turn and walk away from her when she approaches and I have been as patient as I can be. When she asks for an honest opinion, I give it to her and then she gets hurt and acts quite ***chy towards me.

Now, since we got back from DMIL's funeral, I have been a bit moody myself so I guess that is when I decided I will take back my privacy. You are right, of course, the frontal position is the best.....but, I don't think I can do it right now without it turning into something nasty!

.....to get back on topic, I have a 14 yo that will not stop....unless someone else is around! He makes me look like a sometimes because I tell him not to get started and he will look at me and shrug like he has no idea what I could possibly be referring to! I have always told that one he will be lucky if we both survive his "childhood"!

Hmmmm....I hear running through the house upstairs and howls from that child right this very minute! I am downstairs, away from it all when I DIS! Perhaps I better get upstairs and see who is ready to hang youngest DS from a toe now!

My DD (the who stalks me) has a 2yr old. I was over there one day last week and Andrew wanted me to read a story to him. So I'm trying to read this story and I literally could not get one full sentence out. He would point to every single thing on the pages and ask "What's that for?" Over and over and over again. "What's that for? What's that for? What's that for?" OMG! My DD was trying to watch Survivor last week and he was sitting next to her on the couch doing the same thing about the show. She called me up (of course) and had me listen to him. I was . Paybacks, don't you just love them!
