its 1 week since I put down my old Dobieboy...

Man,we sure do miss him. especially Georgie. I think she finally gets it,he's not comin' back. The hardest part is watchin' her look for him. We had him for 12 years and although his heart was still strong,his body gave out. He couldn't stand anymore. Its hard to do the right thing sometimes. I really wanted to do the selfish thing and keep him with us. But how awful for him to not chase those chipmuncks and squirrels out of his yard. So,last Thursday
we said goodbye to Zeke. He was a wicked good dog and friend.

I am so sorry for your loss..........losing a pet is sometimes harder than losing a human friend, and then having to make that decision to do it is the hardest.
I had a 14 year old greyhound that I had to say goodbye to also, I am not strong like a lot of people and could not stay to see it happen......I wonder sometimes how I made it home.
Saying it will get easier does not make it easier. Just the thought of some of my critters that I have had to say good bye to brings tears to my eyes, as I sit here crying for you!
A replacement will not be the same but it will bring you another joy and lots of love to give and recieve.
I truly believe in that rainbow bridge.........my thoughts are with you

...I know many of you have had pets that needed to be put down and it is a hard decision,but I believe in quality of life. My ol' guy wasn't able to do the things that made him happy. It just wouldn't be fair to keep him alive for my own selfish needs.
