Looks like a great start to the day. That opening show is the best. That alone makes it worth getting to MK at rope drop. Can't wait to read more about your last day. I was packing to leave as you were at rope drop so I am feeling a little jealous right now.

OMG what day is this? Was it Sunday December 13th??? It's just that I think I recognise the people that were chosen. We had got their early in the hopes of being chosen, we also had an 8am CP ADR, but a family that looked very like them were already there!!!

I'm disappointed we never saw the MK opening ceremony while we were there, but amazingly in 10 days, we never had a morning available for it! We were at MK that day too, taking our KTTK tour!

Great update. I haven't seen the opening show at MK for awhile. I love it. I love the picture you got of Mickey. That show always brings a lump to my throat and when I enter the park I get a tear in my eye when I see that beautiful castle. There is nothing quite as magical!

I'm happy you made it to rope drop. I always feel so accomplished when I am able to make it to rope. I can't ait to hear about your magical morning and MVMCP.

I can so easily picture myself sitting on a bench across from the Goofy jets listening to the water and watching people go back and forth with their mugs this morning. We have friends that are waking up at Pop this morning and cousins that are waking up at French Quarter. I have to go have a short cry now.

The opening show at Magic Kingdom brings smiles to so many. I especially like seeing dads who you know are all dressed up and manly and business-oriented and all in the real world, but down there they have on a cartoon shirt and are dancing their little kids around as Mickey and the gang welcome them into this magical place!

We hate the sight of those envelopes, by the way.

I wouldn't have thought to scope out a good spot for the opening show. Good hint!! And it looked like a perfect one, at that.

I've never seen the opening show before, and your pictures make me all the more excited to see it during our Sept trip!!

Sounds like a great start to your day. The last full day is always the hardest for me. I try and cram everything I can into that day.

It was an amazing day! Not for any one particular thing, just turned out to be our favorite day!

In eight trips, we've never seen the opening with the characters. One trip, I'm going to make it!

Definitely make time to do it! It's really fun!

I would have planned for a little nap, too! I just can't stay up late the way I used to!

Me, neither! Tom and I laugh about how we could stay up talking til way after midnight when we were dating, but now we're in bed by 9:30pm!!!

I always think of it as "MeMom's Goofy" because the first time I saw it was in one of your trip reports and you were hiding behind it!

Awesome updates! I love the MK opening show, it was the only thing I missed about having an early breakfast with Pooh and the gang. It was worth it, but definitely not for every trip, because I just missed being so grandly welcomed to the MK!!

Right after I posted that I had an update ready, we lost power for 13 hours! Yesterday we had a huge storm with heavy winds and rain, so I shouldn't have been surprised. Oh, well. I'll try again today!

We have had windy weather for the past few days. We're supposedly going to have snow and ice on Friday and get back to 8 degrees. I need spring!
I'd really like spring at Epcot with Flower & Garden Festival stuff going on around me, but that is not going to happen this year. (Insert pouting MeMom here.)
