It wouldn't be spring without an Epcot F&G Festival! New pg 35

Beaches and Cream from the take out window was a highlight for John and I last year too. Liam would be sound asleep in the stroller after Epcot and we'd sit and eat ice cream by the pool with Danica

Sorry you are not feeling well, Amy.:sad2: I hope you are better soon!!!:thumbsup2 I love your list of new things and your mousekeeping envelopes are adorable.

You are so organized! It looks like you are coming right along on your to do list!!

Not much longer now!!!:woohoo: for being in the 20's!!!!

lookin good! Do the boys think anything is up? We are at AK on the 19th and then will be hanging out at the resort that evening. we leave on the 20th in the am....boooo hoooooo!

Boy you are organized....and good. I hope the cold is getting better (and no one else catches it).

I think you should keep Raglan Road. We went in September and really liked it (okay, Mark loved it...especially the bread pudding). He has a business trip next month to Florida and I'm going with. We're staying five different cities and Orlando is one of them for one night (we are staying at All Star Music only because we are basically sleeping and leaving), and I made an ADR for our dinner that night at Raglan because I know how much Mark enjoyed it (he doesn't know about it...it's a surprise).

We will be there from April 16-27. I will post my pre trip report over the weekend. You never know if we run into one another because we like to visit AKL to watch the animals & get my favorite snack, Zebra Domes which you cant get anywhere else. Cant do without them.

Your list looks good!!
We'll be there 15th-22nd staying at Sheraton Vistana
Only 23 more days!!!!:woohoo:
I've never done this but I know you can watch the animals at night with night vision goggles. I heard about people doing this after eating at Boma, so maybe it's somewhere around there? I think the boys would think that's :cool1:

Deb :)

Plans all continue to look great and I'm glad you are getting psyched for Kidani. glad you snagged the savannah view when you did. I know I said this before - but you are literally going to die when you see how great this room is.

Favorite things -

well - I can tell you my nephew really liked going to the community hall there so your boys may want to check that out.

I liked my early morning walks where I gazed at all the cool artwork in the lobby and downstairs near Sanaa.

At the AKL I love the general viewing area and there is a smaller viewing area near that pool that I really enjoyed. I also liked eating at the Mara and finding those lovely shaded tables near the pool.

My favorite thing - the music!!!!!! So relaxing!

Ah Kidani. SO beautiful! And the kids each get their own bed (although I guess they would have at BC if there was a daybed, I imagine CL has daybeds) but 2 bathrooms! :cool1: I have to agree with Heidi, savanna view!!!!

That is a LOT of the pool at SAB, I'd be moving too. Yum for Raglan Road and Ohana dinners. We loved both of them. In fact, as you might have seen on my PTR I just made the Raglan Bread Pudding for my dinner club last week (thanks to Tracy!) YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going to be there April 20-30. We are staying in a pool home that a friend owns... almost 3 miles from AK. :cool1:

:thumbsup2 That's right - you're with the band, right?

Hope your cold gets better!!

Your plans look good. You reminded me that I have to print out our Mousekeeping Envelopes!!

You know we are arriving the day you are (4/19) & we are at the Beach Club.
Cody still does not know where we are staying but I have almost slipped a few times talking about the pool closure!!

I guess Cody won't be disappointed if he doesn't even know you are staying there!

I missed your resort change Amy. AKL is gorgeous! :goodvibes

Hooray for being in the 20's! :cool1:

I'm excited for AKL!! :cool1: And even more excited about the 20s!!

As always, I am so amazed at how organized you are!

You are going to love the AKL.

Here were my favorites:

1. eating breakfast on the balcony watching the animals--actually I could have stayed on the balcony all day and never left. I would go out there in the mornings before my crew awoke, eat, read a book and just watch. It was wonderful!!

2. exploring the lobbies--go down the hallways too. There is artifacts everywhere!

3. At Jambo house, there is rockers off the main lobby overlooking the Arusha area (not sure if that is what it is called), I loved sitting there, watching the animals and reading.

4. Visit Jambo or Kidani overlook and talk to the cast members. The boys will love it and they will tell them all about the animals if they ask questions.

5. Flamingo pond at Jambo--DS liked that. They do feedings there daily with a CM.

6. Loved both pools. Liked the hot tubs better at Jambo--seemed more private. DS loves the slide and play area at Kidani.

7. Exploring the resort early in the morning.

One last thing, I saw you posted on FB about walking/riding between the resorts. We always walked. It is about 10-15 minutes and much easier. Plus it got us some exercise. If you are at Kidani, all theme park buses go directly to Jambo and then to the parks. The DTD bus will go directly to DTD as it stops first at Jambo and then Kidani (would be the bus you would want to get on if you are at Jambo wanting to get back to Kidani).

You are going to have so much fun!!! I can hardly wait.

Thanks for all the great tips! I'm really looking forward to hanging out on the balcony, watching the animals! :thumbsup2

Sounds like you have been a very busy lady! Good grief! A mother's work is never done..... ;)

Love the new choice of resort and I'm so glad they had a savannah view available. I agree that if you are at AKL, there is no other way to go!

The mousekeeping envelopes are adorable...I love the little Mickey head pocket to tuck the money into! Very nice!

I'm really glad I bumped us up to savanna view because now it's gone! I would have been really disappointed if we were there & couldn't look out the window & see the animals!

Your mouskeeping envelopes are too cute, I might use that idea for one day if that is ok with you.:goodvibes

I say def. keep the Beaches and Cream for dessert, that was the highlight of our trip I think. The boys keep talking about making sure we go get the BIG ice-creams.:rotfl: They are big.

You have gotten so much checked off your list, :goodvibes you are so close, heres to hitting the 20's on your countdown:banana:

Thanks Jess - The envelopes are easy to make with my Cricut machine & Disney cartridge. It was a nice project to do to take my mind off of all the other no-so-fun stuff I have to do.

Beaches and Cream from the take out window was a highlight for John and I last year too. Liam would be sound asleep in the stroller after Epcot and we'd sit and eat ice cream by the pool with Danica

I'm still trying to figure out what we're going to do on our non-park days... I'd really like to get over to Beaches & Cream on Thursday so we can stop at the International Gateway & get the boys Guest Assistance Cards before DHS on Friday but I think it's more realistic to go there on Saturday.

Sorry you are not feeling well, Amy.:sad2: I hope you are better soon!!!:thumbsup2 I love your list of new things and your mousekeeping envelopes are adorable.

I love my Disney to-do lists! :lovestruc Each thing I cross of gets us closer to our trip!

I don't think the boys have any idea yet... Maybe we'll see you on the 19th in the pm?

I'm starting to wonder if my cold is allergies... the weather has been so warm here this week and the timing of my cold coincides with sleeping with the windows open. :confused3

I've heard good things about Raglan Road so I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Oh right... Zebra Domes! :thumbsup2 We ate at Boma a couple years ago & I'm sure I must have tried a zebra dome but I don't exactly remember... but I was sort of sick that night. I don't remember if I tried one when I was there with friends in Jan 2011? I'll definitely have to fix that this time!

The night vision goggles are a great idea! I've added that to my list of things to do.

We'll definitely check out community hall - the boys love that kind of stuff! I'm sure we'll spend some time at Jambo because we'll have to go over there for CS at Mara. And shopping of course... :rolleyes1

I don't think we would have gotten a day bed at BC. Apparently, only one of the garden view club level rooms has a day bed. :confused3 I think the king bed is a major selling point of the change too! Plus two bathrooms is a big plus!

I saw your bread pudding! :thumbsup2 Haven't made it through your "free beer" update yet though.

Second question, for those of you who have stayed at AKL/Jambo or Kidani, what are your favorite things to do at the resort?

The pool/water play complex is amazing! The kids absolutely love it! That and watching the animals -- you won't regret that savanna view! :thumbsup2

Kathy

Thanks Kathy! I'm really excited to hang out by the pool & relax while the boys play! And I'm REALLY excited to step out on the balcony & see the animals!! I can't wait to show the boys!

Looks to me like you have a good grip on your lists. :thumbsup2

Do the boys care anything about doing crafts? Kidani has a different craft each day, and the proceeds go to a different animal fund each day. The girls did ostrich shell art at Christmas.

Regarding the walk, Jill, the girls, and I walked from Jambo to Kidani. It's really nothing.

I think Zach will enjoy the crafts. Alex tends to do it to get it done, whereas Zach takes his time & enjoys the process.

Glad to know that you thought the walk was easy. That's what I was hoping to hear from people! :thumbsup2

You know you get a thumbs-up from me regarding the Kidani switch! :thumbsup2

Thanks Jackie! I haven't heard one negative thing about Kidani!

Hi Amy. Hey we are closer than we were a few days ago!!:dance3:

Woo hoo!! 23 days & counting! And my lists are getting shorter!! I'll have a list update later this week!

I can't believe it's finally 3 weeks away!!

I'm off to a school meeting this morning. The Special Ed director from the middle school is spending the day at the elementary school to meet with teachers, observe the kids & meet with parents. The transition process begins...

I hope to be back later today with a list update.

MIDDLE SCHOOL is the BEST thing that ever happened to my kids! I hope it is the same for your kiddos!:flower3:
