It Was the Best of Times & the Worst, But It Was the Best Trip Evah!

I bet it was so sad to see your DIL and GD's go home, but what a wonderful time you all had and I hope you get to do it again.

Did you get transported from Epcot to AK and back all in the same day? :rotfl: Your outfits are so cute. I'm glad you enjoyed Le Cellier. too bad you didn't love the creme brulee.

Yeah for adult beverages AND for Mickey bars with mojitos!

A mickey bar for dinner sounds wonderful!
I'm glad I could help you and it's working for you.
Sounds like you had a nice relaxing evening for the most part. Claire loves the hot tub too, but we do tell her it is for sitting. Now if we are in by ourselves we left her move around a bit, but I know the feeling about kids who swim in it. We've gone places where kids are in unsupervised and they are using it like a regular pool.

Some how the wrong photo appeared. I guess that gremlins were at work. I was going to edit it, but the Dis was running so slow I gave up! :confused3

That dinner was wonderful, yay for Mickey Bars!

Bob hates hotel hot tubs because of the kid factor. If parents made their kids behave like you do, it wouldn't be a problem.

Anyway we have a hot tub at home, but I was needing some warm water for my tired legs!

So sad when part of your party is leaving!

I felt pretty much the same about our last dinner at LeCellier - didn't feel the love!
But I like your dinner - Mickey Bar and an adult beverage - you are my kind of girl! ;)
Don't blame you for having an early night either, we have been known to do that too! ;)

Can't wait for the rest of your trip report! popcorn::

We used to close down the parks every night, but it was just too much for us this last tiime.

It was fun seeing WDW through children's eyes again. It has been a long time since that has happened.

Goodness, I've been such a slacker lately, but it's been terribly busy here. I will try to update soon. We are getting ready to leave for Florida soon, not a Disney trip.:sad2:

Take your time, I've been behind and busy too...totally understand.

I've really enjoyed your trip report so far! I am looking forward to reading more.

I love history and have really enjoyed hearing a little bit about your hobby. Your dress is beautiful!

Well I’m back after too long a time! The Dis had been running so slowly, plus things around here were very busy. I’m getting ready to leave Tuesday for Florida for 3 weeks. I will pass through Orlando, but will have to settle for waving at WDW as we pass by it!

When I left off Anne & the GDs left WDW to go home to Tulsa. I had finished that day so now am doing Sunday September 11. This was our next to the last day.

We had decided to go back to AK as we hadn’t got to do some of the things that we enjoy.

Disney2011278.jpg

I love the entrance to AK. The crowds were fairly low as it was around 9:30.

Disney2011281.jpg

Our picture with a character of bad reputation!

Disney2011288.jpg

We decided to do another safari, hoping that the animals would be more active.

The infamous bobab tree! Looks like the birds are enjoying it even though it’s concrete!

Disney2011225.jpg

The cattle with the huge horns!

Disney2011227.jpg

Disney2011228.jpg

As you can see they were pretty laid back as were all of the animals!

Favorites of ours the giraffes. Bob got some pretty good shots for once!

Disney2011230.jpg

Disney2011233.jpg

Disney2011231.jpg

Isn’t that such a sweet face? I like the eyelashes!

Disney2011232.jpg

Of course we needed a photo of the elephants before the poachers got to them!

Disney2011233.jpg

We were trying to get a picture of the baby elephant. It was so small & it was hidden by the foliage.

Disney2011234.jpg

Disney2011235.jpg

Now for the big ugly rhinos! It’s a shame that they are being hunted out of existence. On Antiques Roadshow last week this lady had a horn that had been made into a cup in 1600. Her DH bought it at a yard sale about 30 years ago for $1. It was worth $400,000 or more!

Disney2011236.jpg

Now on to the ostrich it wasn’t doing much either!

Disney2011237.jpg

Disney2011238.jpg

The fish that are in the river along the trail.

Disney2011240.jpg

Disney2011241.jpg

The meerkats are my favorites, especially since that program Meerkat Manor. It’s kind of hard to see them as they blend into the surrounding so well.

Disney2011244.jpg

You can see a bit better in this photo. One is laying stretched out & the other is sitting up.

Disney2011245.jpg

I don't know what happened, some sort of computer glitch! Here are the pics that are supposed to be there!

Glad that you are enjoying it so far.

I, too love history & our hobby is so much fun. I have to do a museum thing in March. It is a Night at the Museum. We have so many historical figures being portrayed. I do the wife of Governor Bushnel who was from Springfield Ohio. We have late 1770's up through 1940's represented. The event takes place in the eveniing after the museum is closed. It has been a sucess for us & the museum.

Our next to last day continued….

After the Safari we walked all of the trails as that is another of our favorites. It was hotter than Hades, but we still enjoyed the walk. I love the tigers, the bats not so much, nor the gorillas. I will have to say the baby gorilla was so cute in an ugly sort of way!

Disney2011246.jpg

Disney2011247.jpg

Bob likes to take my picture, which I’m not fond of, but I guess it shows how he feels. Most of the pictures of me end up being his desk top photo. He changes them around from time to time.

Bob liked to hang around this guy & take pictures. The main reason is that he is a hobbyist blacksmith & wanted a closer look at his tool. He did talk to him some, but the CM was not too talky.

Disney2011248.jpg

Disney2011249.jpg

Disney2011251.jpg

I felt a little guilty for being at WDW since it was the tenth anniversary of 9-11. I was so glad to see this on the way in & we took a photo on our way out of AK.

Disney2011252.jpg

That made us feel so good that Disney did that. They could have ignored the whole day, but didn’t. I made time to look at the rest of the park flags & they were all at half staff.

We decided to stop for lunch & knew where we wanted to go. Grabbed a bus to the Yacht Club to get to DTD. EOS here we come. We spotted an eating area when we had been to DTD earlier with Anne & the GDs. It was along the lake. We love eating at places like that!

Disney2011253.jpg

Disney2011254.jpg

Disney2011255.jpg

I ordered the Earl’s Club with some jello salad, Bob got the Original 1762 beef sandwich with potato salad. Of course he had a beer & I had a Sprite.

Disney2011256.jpg

Disney2011257.jpg

After lunch we decided to head for the boardwalk. We strolled for awhile, but it was getting too hot to enjoy.

Disney2011258.jpg

Disney2011259.jpg

I think that we took a bus to the Boardwalk, but we rode the boat to HD.

Disney2011260.jpg

We spent some time at HD, rode TofT, saw the Walt Disney museum, which was very nice. That was our fist time in there. We just walked around soaking up the atmosphere.

We headed back to CBR to rest & get ready for our 6:00 ADR at Narcossee’s.

I spied this when I turned the corner to our room.

Disney2011261.jpg

As we got closer I was so excited to see this. I took these animals because folks on the Dis said that the MK would do this sort of thing.

Disney2011262.jpg

Disney2011263.jpg

I guess it doesn’t take much to excite me, but everything Disney has that effect on me!

Now it was time to get over to the GF for our ADR at Narcossee’s.

Disney2011264.jpg

Disney2011265.jpg

I was a little worried about the food as I wanted lobster & kept seeing theses bad reviews. We had a wonderful dinner, got a personal menu with our name at the top. I didn’t even notice that touch until Bob pointed it out to me!

Disney2011267.jpg

Don’t ask why I’m looking this was cause I don’t know. Just some more of Bob’s stealth photos!

I had the whole Maine lobster & Bob had the Surf & Turf. I had the Crème Brule Duo & Bob had the Almond Crusted Cheesecake. He loved his dessert, while mine was just meh!

He didn’t care for the press pot coffee & I couldn’t tell you anything about it as I’m not allowed to drink coffee. All in all it was a delightful meal. Our CM was very good did everything she was supposed to with no muss or fuss.

After dinner we decided to go to the MK by boat. In those clouds on the left of the photo was a spectacular lightning show.

Disney2011268.jpg

Disney2011270.jpg

Disney2011271.jpg

Disney2011272.jpg

I was getting a little worried waiting on the boat since the lightning seemed so close. We did ride it after all & it was such a lovely night with the full moon!

When we made it over to MK it was a mad house since people were leaving & also arriving for EMH. We decided to head back to CBR since it was so crowded.

We arrived back to CBR to find the travel arrangements on the door. I hate to see that because it’s absolute that we will be leaving tomorrow!

You really had a busy last full day! Lots of traveling around. I love EOS and I love those little tables down by the water.

You window looked so cute on arrival to your room. What a warm welcome. Love that.

Your dress is very pretty. Sounds like you had an absolutely lovely last evening at dinner and those pictures from the restaurant are gorgeous! What a beautiful time of night.

I really enjoyed reading about your trip. It sounds like it was near perfect. I'm sure you are anxious to wrap it up before you leave for Florida. Have a lovely time and soak up a little sun for me, will you please? :goodvibes

It was a great trip. I don't think that I will finish before I leave since that is the day after tomorrow.

Thanks for the dress compliment. It was a Chaps from Kohls, most of my clothes are Chaps or American Living.

Bob is finding beaches & a cute hotel that he wants to see at Cedar Key. He's really getting into this trip, thank goodness, because I've had to fight for this for a year!:headache:

He was asking me if we need to cancel the car since I'm a little under the weather. I think that my RA remission is over, God I hope not. Anyway we are going no matter what!!!:cool1:

Great pics as always. I love the ones of the storm with the moon.

Safe travels to Fla! The sun always makes me feel better!

The moon was just gorgeous! It was really a romantic evening, especially with the boat ride!

I'm really looking forward to the morning, got the car all packed & am rarin' to go! We are taking the dog & I swear he has more stuff than us!:dogdance:

I love that dress too. I might have to take a trip to Kohls and see if spring clothes are out yet. I need a nice sundress..one that fits and isn't so short. I swear anything I like now a days is way to short for me.

I'm still in Florida, will be heading home in a few days. I got the notice for free dining & couldn't resist booking a trip for Sept.

When I get home I will finish this TR & need to start planning the new trip. So far we are booked for PO Riverside. We have never stayed there, so don't really know much about that resort.

The Dis is so slow, painfully so! I'm giving up after trying many times to connect.

Congrats on booking free dining. POR is lovely. I can't imagine you not loving it. I do!

Enjoy your last few days in Florida!
