It Was the Best of Times & the Worst, But It Was the Best Trip Evah!

Oh Doris - I know how that feels when you literally can't stand the heat anymore. When we went in June of 09 and we didn't have a flight until 6pm I felt the same way. I told Denny I could not go in a park or a pool. I needed to be in AC until we left for the airport.

You really got some beautiful pictures in Epcot and I love that pic of you and DH smooching in front of Spaceship earth.

Cute shirt, too!!!!

I just changed my reservation this afternoon! We will be staying at the AKL in Sept. :dance3: This is our first Deluxe.

I was so worried about getting stuck at Alligator Bayou in one of those rooms with the stick decor. That certainly was not for me. I hated thethought of staying there!

I'm so excited & thanks MEH for the recommendation!

Now I'll have to change my ticker!

I have some last thoughts on our vacation.

It was a blast taking Anne, Emily & Kelly. We had so much fun, maybe a little too much for Grandmama & Grandpa, but still fun! DH & I are used to much simpler trips to WDW. We like more relax time at the resorts, gotta’ hang at the pool & enjoy those adult beverages after mornings at the parks.

I need to take many more pictures if I do anymore TRs, especially food pictures. It was hard to remember pictures when dealing with Anne & the girls. Since this was our only time with them until next summer, we tended to forget about the camera. All I can say is thank goodness for PP, it was a lifesaver. We have some lovely pictures to go along with our memories of WDW.

We bought a few things for the girls, Emily got a light saber & Kelley had her face painted, also got a Princess balloon. I also gave the girls each a $50 gift to spend on whatever they wanted. They really got into the pin trading. Anne made lanyards for them & scored big time at the Disney Store on pin sets. I think she got Princess pin sets at $6.99 on clearance. That was an amazing deal as each girls started off with 6 pins or so to trade. They had a blast doing the trading!

Anne & I also got into the trading with gusto! I really scored with getting a Headless Horseman from a CM. I also bought a 40th anniversary pin & dangle set (not sure what to call it). Pin trading is something that I will stick with when going to WDW!

I found two cute shirts, one was from AK, brown with tan Mickey head outlines, the other was a blue Eeyore with bows sewn around the neck & on the front. I also bought a black sundress with leopard print Mickeys on it at AK.

One thing that I did was have free money for most of the tips, drinks & stuff! Got a Disney Visa, which paid me $200 for opening, had 74 points on another Disney Visa & $25 for a DVC response. Sure would like to find some more deals like that!

One of the best things that we ever did was have the DisMeet with Karin & Tom! I would encourage all to do a DisMeet. The people on this board are some of the nicest people in the world, I really mean that!

I would like to take another trip with Emily & Kelley, but not sure when to swing that again. It won’t be too far in the future. I hope!

Well, I hope that my first Trip Report wasn’t too boring. Maybe I will do another after our next vacation which is in September.

I was able to get free dining & made a ressie at POR, but after some deep thinking……I switched the ressie to AKL!! Our first deluxe & I’m so excited!

In a couple of days I will be posting some of my pictures of our Florida vacation. I will be back as soon as I can!:surfweb:

Great recap on the trip! You did a great job with your TR. I loved it and I enjoyed meeting your lovely family.

Wow - score on the $200 visa gift card. I think mine was only $100 when I opened it. Nice!

Also score on the clearance prices on the pin sets! And getting a headless horseman pin. Oh - I would love that.

Also congrats and your upcoming trip, which is going to be fabulous.

Looking forward to your Florida pictures!

I loved your TR. I think you did a fantastic job. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read your next one!

Thank you for the compliments. I was so nervous starting the TR, but it went better than I thought. I'm looking forward to doing another!

The Headless Horseman pin has a swing action head, it's really cute! I happened to notice it at the last minute on the CM's lanyard, score!

Thanks so much! You were such a help to me getting the ins & outs of the posting down!

Now, it's a lot easier for me! I'm defineatly doing another!

Saturday night I spotted the new Sears Outlet near us was open. So of course being the ultimate shopper I had to check it out.

I found four really nice Disney shirts for our newest trip. An Eeyore, a Pooh, a Tinker Bell & a Minnie shirt. The original price was $36 the new price was $5! :cool1:

I will be going back!

I know that I promised pictures of Florida trip, will get to them soon. It's hard to spend time online with a retired husband!

I'm here too, Mother of Wicket! Can't wait for all the details!
:yay:

Hey! That's my nickname!!!

One thing that I forgot to mention was the fact that when Anne & the girls had gone to the MK the day before there were no Halloween decorations up. The next day when we went to MK after Chef Mickey's all of the Halloween things were there. They were amazed to see that!

I would love to see this happen live.... I can't imagine how many people it takes, or how they have it all organized, ready to come out as soon as the crowds leave.

Kelly's first magic photo turned out like our's was supposed to!

I've never seen this one!!!! :thumbsup2

I was starting to drag a bit, but I was not going to miss the new thing with the photos projected on the castle.

There was a couple that were riding mobility carts. There were no health issues as Bob had seen them earlier hopping on & off the carts doing things. The carts were loaded down with bags of purchases. They just didn't want to walk like the rest of the crowd. These two were probably around 30. Anyway the husband was trying to push his way through the crowd by nudging people out of his way with the cart!:scared1: Bob was so mad with these two, so rude. It would have been different if they were really handicapped in some way, but AFAIK they weren't!

We made back to CBR totally worn out. We were getting out early in the morning for EMH at the MK. Lots of Pixie Dust was coming our way!

You're right, that balloon DOES look like a pain!!!!

Ya know, even if they DID have mobility issues, they have no right to try to get to the front of crowds, or front of lines. I think a lot of people rent the ECVs hoping they will get to skip the lines. But after pushing the gimp for a week, most of the attractions have wide queues so wheelchairs wait in the same lines. And that's totally fair. Just because you had knee surgery/arthritis/bad back/etc should you get to skip the lines? I had a cold for a couple days on our last trip, that's a disability in WDW, did I get to skip lines?

A quick update about our accident, we are being inudated by calls & mail from lawyers & chiropractors.:scared1: It seems that they troll the daily accident reports & start calling. The police report stated that there might be an injury, so the feeding frenzy is on!! A real eye opener for sure.

I thought that I would post a picture Wicket of whom I am mother of! He was wearing his Santa hat & beard.

I don't know wether to take that as a compliment or not!;)
There were so many firsts connected with this trip, now my best first is coming up. Our first deluxe!

Score on the shirts. I am trying to stay away from shopping to save money. Claire tried to talk me into the mall today and I stood strong!!

Hello Wicket's Mom, I wanted to let you know I finished reading your trip report and enjoyed it and all the pictures. Your granddaughters are so cute! I can't wait till we have grandkids to take to WDW! We were at WDW staying at CSR when you were there, we met Karin and Tom at WPE on the 9th, I think. We are going back in Sept. with free dining too. I had to laugh when you described AB at POR with the stick furniture!! We are going to stay at POR and when I showed my DH the room pictures, to my dismay, he picked the stick room. Now when I called to make our reservation the CM told me they usually put families in AB so the chance of us getting one of those will be slim. I thought the mansion rooms looked nice but the outside of the AB appealed to my DH. So it will be a surprise as to what we end up with. I tried to get him to book a bounce back at AKL during the stay but he wouldn't. How exciting for you to get to stay there, I think I would love it.:)
