It was all started by a towel...

The AKL bus was there when we walked up, but so were a bunch of Disney suits and a Reedy Creek ambulance. Someone on the bus was having a medical emergency.

Another bus came along a few minutes later and we were able to get on that one.

We got back to the room and got settled. It was about 1:20 AM. As soon as my head hit the pillow we heard this NOISE. Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh. LOUD. Like a jackhammer. At first I thought DS had pushed the suitcase up against the side of the fridge and it was vibrating, although this noise was really too loud to be that. He moved the suitcase, the noise continued. And it would go, then stop, go, then stop. At 1:40 DH reached for the phone. I told him the phone goes to a call center - he needed to go to the desk. So he got up, got dressed, and headed to the front desk. Where he met the people in the room next door and the people from the room on the other side of the room next door. The Guest Services manager (who happened to be the same one who removed our cockroach this summer) was attempting to locate the source of the noise and stop it.

DS asked me what is above those rooms, and I honestly couldn't tell him. The hotel is configured in such a weird shape I have no clue what is directly above those rooms. DH did say the noise was WAY louder on the end of the hall closer to the lobby, which means it must have just about deafened the people in 2407. At any rate, by about 1:50 the noise stopped.

It was pretty clear at that point that we were NOT going to make it to AM EMH at AK at 8 AM. :rolleyes1

LOVE this one!!!

Now you have me concerned about trying Yachtsman in January. I really like FF and am debating whether I should cancel Yachtsman for it. But we've never tried Yachtsman. I guess I should just stick with it.

Yay for the Owner's Locker!

Elizabeth -- you have some great pictures! I'm sorry that it didn't turn out as planned. Good news on your new Dooney! I love the pic of you and DH in the teacups. :goodvibes

Yay for the Owner's Locker!

Our dinner wasn't bad. It was late, we were cranky, and we were still partially full from lunch.
Now, having said that, I am not happy with the way they tweaked the chilled seafood salad. It used to be AMAZING, now it is just "eh". I wouldn't order it again. The steaks were OK. I actually like my meat well done but I don't order it that way because it comes out TOO done. The steak was not tough, and it had nice flavor, but it was a little crisp on one edge and there was NO pink in the center. DH said his was fine, although if it was mine I would have sent it back. It was too rare.

The first time we tried Yachtsman we didn't like it. Then Elin said they had a terrific meal there so we tried it again and loved it. Obviously the new chef has not been in place long because Chef Al was still there in August. Hopefully he will find his groove and things will improve again. Definitely request Ricardo as your server. He is amazing.

Thanks, Marci! DS took the teacup pic, too!
I haven't switched my things over to the Dooney yet. But it is making my closet smell FABULOUS! :rotfl:

Time to go home

We didn't get up Monday until almost 8 AM. I was a little sad not to get to a park, but whatever. We put quite a bit of stuff in the Locker, but it didn't seem to help. We still didn't have much room in the luggage!

DH took the checked bag down to the desk to check it to the airport. DS snarled and growled and kept falling back asleep.

We went down to Mara for breakfast, then came back and called Bell Services to get the Locker. The nice thing about being in a room vs. a villa is being able to get late check-out. We had the room until 1 PM, but Magical Express was coming at 12:30. Not having to drag the carry-ons around or check them with Bell Services was really convenient!

ME bus showed up on time, ride to the airport was uneventful, flight home was uneventful. It always amazes me how at MCO we get on the plane, and the plane goes. Why doesn't that happen at DFW?

Oh, we did have the small issue of no overhead bin space. When we left DFW they announced that coats and jackets were NOT to be in the bins until ALL luggage had been stowed. Well, they didn't say that at MCO, so one of our bags ended up being about 8 rows behind us. We had to wait for ALL of those rows to disembark before DH could get back there to get the bag. Kind of a pain, since the coats and jackets were what prevented us from getting the bag in a bin near our seats.

It was FREEZING outside. We didn't have to wait that long for a shuttle back to the car, but it felt like a long time. It was nice to get home and see the cats.

And now? NOW we plan for JUNE!!! :dance3:

So is it wrong of me to say I was quite ammused by the jeans escapade and the fear of cold weather? I really needed that with all that is going on here ( and I thought it was all over but the truck died last night!!! and we had to have it towed back to the dealer. Now the Honda has an engine light on!)

It still looks like you had fun! Disney is still DISNEY!!!!

My Dad actually arrived down there on Sunday. I helped him pack and there was not any sight of pants, just shorts! :) What can we say we think 50 is still warm up here!

Hey, Melissa! Guess what? I looked them up in the PHONE BOOK!!! Judging from the coating of dust on the cover, I was the only one who had needed it in a LONG time.

.

That is really funny. So I admit at some point a person may need 1 phonebook. However I think 6 is getting to be a bit much!!! Maybe I will use them in the fire pit......hmmm.

Nah. If you are amused, that's cool.;) I am a bit puzzled by people who fuss about the heat. I am sure it evens out somewhere! :rotfl2:

Sorry about the truck! I HATE car stuff. :headache:

You know, if I had brought the laptop I wouldn't have NEEDED the phone book. In fact, I didn't NEED it as it was. I was just going to call my friend and ask her to give me the number. But it was only like 5:30 AM in her time zone when I decided I wanted the number, so the phone book came in handy.

It actually wasn't THAT cold during our trip, except Saturday night.

You could have called me-I have their phone number on my color coded matrix of fun!

I was going to call Kristine. I had forgotten that you guys had a Locker until later. Then I remembered when we were talking about the disappearing Housekeeping tips this summer that you mentioned needing Bell assistance with your Locker. At any rate, the phone book served it's purpose! :rotfl2:

Your mom is my kind of girl! :rotfl2: DH and I are already old. We want to move to FL. ;)

At Pop we borrowed a luggage cart to take all of our stuff down to Bell Services-bags to check, carryon to leave while in the parks, and owner's locker. We decided to check our bags with the resort check in first because Dorinda wanted to leave her boarding passes in her carryon. So this one guy at the resort check in is all confused about my Owner's Locker-doesn't understand how I'm going to check it in for my flight. I tried to tell him that I was leaving it with Bell Services to be picked up by an offsite service but he just couldn't get it. He must have been new that day but he was annoying me.:headache: They had too many people working there and noone seemed to know what the others were doing. One person would pull your luggage asside. The new or clueless guy was just there to be annoying. The guy who printed my boarding passes and bag tags very nearly put them on the wrong luggage. I was very relieved that my luggage made it back to Boston!

I love having extra battery chargers in my owner's locker so I never have to worry about those! I have them for my Nikon camera, AA batteries for my flash, the kids nintendos, my ipod, our phones....I don't have an extra charger for my newest little Sony so I have to remember to bring that every trip. I should see if I can find one cheap. They had them in the airport Sony vending machine for $60.

Shhh. If there are accessories for our Sony at the airport I do not want to know!

I left my phone charger there because we have 3. When I went for my mom's surgery last year I didn't bring the charger. Then she had complications and I had to stay longer, so I was forced to go to Walmart :scared1: and buy another charger. I already had 2 at home because when I upgraded my phone last time the old charger fit the new phone. I *think* DH and DS can use the same charger now since DS has a Motorola phone, but I don't see us leaving a Motorola charger. We just kept piling more and more stuff in there so I have already forgotten what half of it is.

It will be like Christmas in June when you open it up again!

I looked on amazon-that Sony charger is about $40 but they had a knock off off for under $4 even with shipping it was under $10-I might try it.
