The AKL bus was there when we walked up, but so were a bunch of Disney suits and a Reedy Creek ambulance.
Someone on the bus was having a medical emergency.
Another bus came along a few minutes later and we were able to get on that one.
We got back to the room and got settled. It was about 1:20 AM. As soon as my head hit the pillow we heard this NOISE. Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh. LOUD. Like a jackhammer. At first I thought DS had pushed the suitcase up against the side of the fridge and it was vibrating, although this noise was really too loud to be that. He moved the suitcase, the noise continued. And it would go, then stop, go, then stop. At 1:40 DH reached for the phone. I told him the phone goes to a call center - he needed to go to the desk. So he got up, got dressed, and headed to the front desk. Where he met the people in the room next door and the people from the room on the other side of the room next door. The Guest Services manager (who happened to be the same one who removed our cockroach this summer) was attempting to locate the source of the noise and stop it.
DS asked me what is above those rooms, and I honestly couldn't tell him. The hotel is configured in such a weird shape I have no clue what is directly above those rooms. DH did say the noise was WAY louder on the end of the hall closer to the lobby, which means it must have just about deafened the people in 2407. At any rate, by about 1:50 the noise stopped.
It was pretty clear at that point that we were NOT going to make it to AM EMH at AK at 8 AM.
