It was all started by a towel...

24 hours until departure!!!

Just need to wrap up a few details today!
Need to put all of the travel documents in my bag, switch over to my "travel" wallet, print the boarding passes, pack the laptop.

EDITED TO ADD:
Apparently I need to start a thread on the Trip Report Board since they moved/closed this one. I will post the new link ASAP!!

Welcome! :goodvibes

This is the trip report for our August, 2009 trip. And the pre-trip for December. And eventually the actual trip report for December.

My PTR for August was closed a bit prematurely, so we will pick up where we left off.
Ah, now the pre-trip has been merged in, so all is well!

Stay tuned!

Much more to follow, including pics. :)

The December trip is going to be so short it didn't deserve it's own thread. ;) Keep reading!

YEAH!!! I can't wait to go to Disney with you! I am staying tuned! BTW I got the packing list and was impressed. Let's me know that I am still a novice at planning Disney trips. I can't wait until I am down to 2 weeks. The kids will be in school then and I won't have to worry about packing any clothes they need. Don't forget your eye drops! ;)

Thank you for reminding me! :goodvibes
I have Visine already packed, but not the Zylet. And even though the bottle is only like 2 ml I am sure it is supposed to be in with my "liquids".

Slowly but surely I am tying up the loose ends today!

Look forward to your live report Elizabeth :yay:

Elizabeth - It's Dorothy (Katharine's mom - from ballet). I am eagerly anticipating your live daily (or more often) reports. We will be in Gulf Shores, but will log in every day to live vicariously through you on the most planned-out trip I can imagine. Kudos to you! Give :smickey: a great big hug for me.

It is :hourglass to have an awesome trip!!

Dorothy

Hi, Dorothy!! :yay:
Welcome to my madness! Looking forward to having you along for the ride! :thumbsup2
(Off topic, we have switched Miss Princess to the Friday 12:30 ballet for Fall. Not sure if you guys signed up again. They cancelled the Thursday class we were originally enrolled in.)

I have finished packing my odds and ends. My cell phone is charging - I THINK that is the last thing to go in the bag. Oh, and my brush after I dry my hair in the morning. Watch me put it down on the sink and leave it.

Oh I have done this before lol

Well, if I want to be SURE I don't forget the brush I could pack it now. I bought a new one a few weeks ago. BUT the old one works better. So I can pack the old one now and use the new one in the morning. But then my hair won't look as good...:rotfl2::lmao:

It's DEPARTURE DAY!!!

DH is already showered and ready to go. I am drinking coffee. No sign of DS yet.

We got an e-mail this morning offering FREE airport parking! That would save us $130! BUT (of course there is a but) we can't use the coupon starting today - it would only be valid starting tomorrow. :headache: Guess we'll use our 25% off coupon. Maybe we will use the free parking for the December trip.

I almost forgot to put the ME tags on the checked bags. That would have been bad. Luckily I remembered late last night.

It would be FABULOUS to make it to MK prior to 2 PM today, but I am not thinking that will happen. Magical Express likes to leave us on the bus for 30 minutes or so before we leave MCO. Then when we get to AKL we will have to sort out our stuff, give the carry-ons to Bell Services, blah blah blah.

DH is glaring at me and sighing. Apparently I am to go get in the shower.

OK, friends and neighbors! This is it! Off we goooooooo...

Greetings from the PLANE!! :cool1:

We are on an American flight with WiFi, so I am postin from the air.

I have to say that I HATE flying out of Terminal D! HATE IT!!!

Terminal D is the international terminal. Apparently they do not have curbside check-in. Or it isn't open until later in the day. Or something. So we had to have a guy load the bags on a cart and roll them over to the kiosk for us to pay the checked bag fees. That was fine. They tag the bags, weigh them, and off we go.

There is a woman hollering at us to get out of the line and PROVE that our carry-on bags will fit in the little tester. We fly with these bags ALL THE FLIPPIN' TIME! So we go to the tester. My bag won't fit because my "liquids" are in the front pocket. :headache: I take the liquids out, stuff them in my backpack, put my bag in there so the woman can see that it DOES fit. DH had already put his in there, but apparently she missed it. He had to put it back in. The wheel got stuck when he tried to pull it out and she tried to say it was too big. NO, it is FINE! She finally let us go through to security. :sad2:

So we strip half naked, take the laptop out, put all of our crap on the belt. "BAG CHECK!" Something about DS's backpack. I think it is his trading pins. It isn't. It's the darn tubes of pennies & quarters for the pressed penny machines. Good gracious. So, we stand there while TSA goes through his bag checking for sticks of explosives. :rolleyes1 They were very nice about it, but it delayed us a bit.

We get to our gate without further incident. But we are in Terminal D, where there is NO McDonald's. There is an Einstein Bagels. DH writes it off as having too long of a line. For crying out loud, there is no food on the plane! Stand in the line! So I stood in the line. Got back to the gate as they called our group to board. Fine.

We left the gate on time. I imagine we will arrive pretty much on schedule, even though we had a bit of a line in front of us for take-off.

There's always excitment for you, is there not, Elizabeth?

Have fun!
