It was all started by a towel...

SEVEN days until departure!!!

Zazu is doing well. The problem is Arabella. She is our 2 year old tabby. She LOVED Zazu before he went to the vet, now she hates him. :sad2: They would play and she would groom him - they were best pals. Now if she sees him she growls, hisses, and runs away! Poor Zazu is so confused! I hope she decides to be his friend again soon.

I need to tweak my packing today. I bought another outfit that I need to put in my carry-on. I have decided not to tempt Fate (or dishonest people) by putting DS's Ed Hardy shirt in his checked bag. I am going to move it to his carry-on. I also have a few more misc. things to throw in the shoe bag.

I booked the free dining Disney Visa offer for December yesterday. We'll be at Coronado Springs from Dec. 3-7. We have never stayed there before. I hope it is nice. So now I have to start the airfare vigil. I hate that game. :headache:

SIX days until departure!!!

This trip is getting pretty close!

Since we are leaving for WDW THIS WEEK I figured I needed something else to plan. SO we booked a trip for December. :rolleyes1

I started out with a room-only ressie on an AP rate. Then I switched to a free dining Visa package. Now I am ready to rip my hair out trying to find flights. I think someone at AA.com is on drugs. I found flights that were perfect. Put them on hold. Last night the flights were gone from the schedule. Good thing I didn't BUY the tickets, now isn't it?

This morning there are more flights, so at least we'll be able to get times that work for us. The first time I pulled up the schdule it showed my original departure flight for $89! I clicked to choose it, and it said the flight is unavailable. Perfect. So I refreshed the screen, the price went up $20, and then I was able to put the flight on hold. :headache:

We could fly Airtran or SW if we wanted it to take half a day to get to Orlando and back. I don't think I am ready to purchase air yet. I am going to keep watching.

FIVE days until departure!!!

We are in the home stretch! But there are still 4ish working days looming between me and my trip. :sad2:

For some reason DH has declared that this will be the trip where he eats a turkey leg. Hmm. OK. Not sure why this was worthy of a formal announcement, but whatever.

I have switched back to AKL for our December trip. It turns out Pop Warner may be at CSR. NOT interested in bunking with the Pop Warners.

American seems to have sorted out their schedule for the moment. I have flights on hold (again). I need to confirm with my boss that I can leave early on Thursday so we can take the 5 PM flight instead of the 8 PM one.

Ugh.
DS is sunburned.

He is VERY, VERY pale. We went swimming yesterday and I used some spray sunscreen on him. It is now painfully clear which spots I missed on his arms and shoulders. :sad2:

The mention of a rash guard went over like a lead balloon. But I think we may have to consider it. We are definitely NOT going to be in the sun today, so we might as well go look for a rash guard. We have been to a water park in the past and he didn't burn, but I am a little concerned about Blizzard Beach. I am absolutely sure we will be using regular lotion sunscreen from now on instead of the spray.

I still have two pages to go to catch up so I dont know if this was mentioned...

Try Blue Lizard Sunscreen. It is fantastic. It is about $10 a tube but a little really does goes a long way. I have found it at CVS and Walgreens.

My french skin just made it through 14 July days in WDW only b/c of this stuff.... Nothing has ever worked this well on me before...

Hi, Jenn!

We have a bottle of Blue Lizard. :) DH keeps it in his tackle bag for when he goes fishing.
None of us have ever really gotten burned at WDW. We usually put lotion on our legs and faces and spray any other exposed areas, and we're fine. Not quite sure what happened that day that DS got so crispy. It hasn't happened again. I have been putting regular lotion on his shoulders instead of spray.

My bank has decided to charge a 1.5% service fee on travelers checks. NOT a good surprise. But one of those Visa travelers cash card things from AAA would have had about the same fee on it, so there appears to be no way around it.

I don't like to travel with cash, I don't like to use our debit card on vacation, and after all the squirrelly stories about Chase Visa lately I was afraid to depend on the card for the duration of our trip in case they did some bizarre thing to our credit line. :scared: I guess the fee was the lesser of the evils.

I must figure out a day to go have a pedicure. I am hoping to only work in the morning on Friday. I need to confirm that.

I am still hammering out the details of the December trip. Once we purchase airfare there will be no turning back. Maybe I will buy our MVMCP tickets when we are at WDW next week. I have done that before and it is really quite convenient. For some reason I am having trouble deciding where we want to eat. We may not have much of a choice when it comes down to it. ADRs are likely to be scarce. If it is too bad I will modify the ressie (AGAIN) and just do a room only. Our DDE card will be expired and I don't want to buy a new one until next year, but "free" dining is not worth it if we can't get any ADRs. We'll only have 4 TS credits, so it's not like we can go crazy with the ADRs anyway.

FOUR days until departure!!

I think we have chosen our flights for December. I haven't booked them yet.

There is nothing else going on. How boring is THAT?

:rotfl2: That's because you already did everything that needed to be done!

Eh, I suppose.

I just came back from having my toes done. Unfortunately I wore Crocs to work today so I am plodding around in those purple foam pseudo-sandals. BUT...
I just remembered I have a pair of Teva flip flops in the swim bag in my car! Good. Now I won't have to wear my Crocs to pick up Princess from camp. Fabulous!

I booked air for our December trip last night. I am glad I did, because the tickets are $40 higher today! That has never happened to me before. They typically go down as soon as I buy them.

I am still hemming and hawing about switching our ressie back to a room only. Our DDE card will expire at the end of August, so buying a new one or tipping on the DDP meals is all about the same. We wouldn't SAVE much (if any) money by buying a new DDE - we would probably hit the break even point by the end of the trip. I am also having a really hard time deciding where we want to eat (correction: where we want to TRY to eat) for our TS meals. I guess if ADR availability is crummy at 90 days I will modify back to room only and not worry about it anymore.

good plan!

48 hours until departure!!

Well, theoretically. We have had this lame on-and-off drizzle all week. This morning it has ramped up to a full blown STORM. It was SUPPOSED to be BETTER today, not worse! :headache: Bonehead weather people. If it is raining like this on Saturday morning we will be hugely delayed. Which seems to happen to us even if there AREN'T weather issues. We shall see. :rolleyes1

Elizabeth - don't borrow trouble. If you didn't have all your packing done you wouldn't need to worry about the weather, you know. ;)

I prefer to think of it as ANTICIPATING. ;)
Then I can say "Yes, I thought this might happen."

"If" I wasn't packed. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl::laughing: Like THAT would happen! 48 hours from departure and not packed? HA HA HA HA!!!! Never in a million years! You are funny, Elin!

Glad you had your chuckle this morning. Feel better now? ;)

I have read the entire pre-trip and all I can say is OMG! My husband says I go crazy with planning our Disney trip!!! I can't wait to show him your trip report! You make me look like an Minor!!!:lmao:
Ok so I need this 2 week packing list!!! :rotfl:

How is your stye? Did they give you antibiotics to put in your eye? I am diabetic and they always give me eurythomicin (sp) ointment. It makes the syte look worse but it always works.

Needless to say I am on board for the rest of your trip.

Welcome, Candy!! :goodvibes

I am rather, um, zealous about planning. ;) I have 2 master packing lists, one for summer, one for winter. I will try to remember to copy & paste the summer one for you when I get home. It isn't on my work computer.

I have Zylet drops to put in my eye and I am taking oral doxycycline. The bottom lid still has a little lump, but I think that is as good as it is going to get. I am supposed to be finished with the Zylet but I am going to bring it to WDW just in case. :)
