It was a miracle!

Sure it can be an observation :) . But I have noticed in other threads that you always seem to want to put a damper on a situation.

No, I think I am just injecting a little reality sometimes, as others do, to, say, a story of the magically appearing papers.

You're the only one using the word magic here; aren't you?

And reality is in the eye of the beholder! :)

Sorry. "Miraculously" appearing papers. We never did get word whether the papers were there all the time, or whether they "miraculously" appeared.

Actually, reality is in the eyes of everyone, not just the beholder. Interpretation is in the eye of the beholder.

If I throw a rock at you, it's going to hit you. That's reality. You can interpret it as god's message, or satan speaking or me trying to hit the tree behind you.

One more thing - I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I just told a story for those of you who believe and would enjoy it.

Out of this discussion, I've realized how anyone can Christians get blamed for proselytizing, but many non-Christians do it just the same. It was kind of a revelation, really. There's no difference!

This kind of proselysizing doesn't shake my faith, but it just kind of strikes me as odd that we Christians are the only ones that get complained about, when there are those jumping into a discussion about faith to try to convince people that their faith is wrong.

Are you guys going to start jumping into the threads asking for prayers for lost dogs and stuff like that and start proselytizing there too? That might be kind of ill received!!! :)

Asking people to pray for you (or your dog) and declaring that God has singled you out (over people in much more need, who may very well have been more deserving) to receive a miracle are two different things.

No, honey, no difference -they are asking God to single them out and help them just like I did. So they can ask for prayers but have to keep quiet about if prayers are aswered? You have to tell me the rules because I'm confused!

Really, I'm not even trying to convince you. I respect your beliefs.

If they posted those in the right place, maybe they wouldn't have to worry about it.

LOL!!!!!!!!

It cracks me up that there are threads about about "meat" and "Irish sausage" that turn into page after page of sexual innuendo, some rather explicit, and no one gets all bent out of shape about that. But holy cow, someone posts about what they feel is a miracle, and it gets some people so panty-wadded that they have to refer the post to the Compassions sticky!!!!!! :lmao: Aunt Polly wasn't asking for Prayer & Pixie Dust, she was sharing what made her happy for those of us who are so inclined to share with her. GET IT?!

Peace:hippie:

LOL!!!!!!!!
GET IT?!

Obviously you don't. I was answering her question about the proper place to post those requests.

I don't know what sausage posts you're talking about, but if there was a sticky thread or a forum for such a thing, I'd imagine that was the proper place to put it.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought she was sharing what she felt was a miracle. I didn't know she was asking for prayer requests.

Paul's affliction was not physical; his thorn was his persecution for preaching the Gospel.

True, God does not give us trials, nor tribulation.

God wants us blessed because he loves us and so we can be a blessing to others.

I always think of Paul's afflication as physical. This is the first time I've heard it referred to as otherwise.

Not only is there a sticky thread at the top of this forum entitled "Prayer and Pixie Dust Requests":
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=61408
there is an entire forum called "Coping and Compassion":
http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=149

I guess the people that post them in the main forum feel their needs are much more important than following the rules, but I've been told my complaints are baseless, so there you go.

I'm sorry but I've really got to ask this-if you have such a problem with this type of thread that you feel it shouldn't even exist on the main page-then why are you so involved in it? If a thread doesn't interest me, or I think it will annoy me, I have no problem passing it by.
