Just got to thinking. We have a reservation at the WL for next Oct. DH has a 5day hopper - can this be upgraded to an annual pass? If our cruise gets cancelled can we upgrade his hopper at the resort? Can I buy DS & myself annual passes at the resort?

Yes, you can upgrade passes and get a credit for the amount paid and unused on the existing passes towards an annual pass, and yes you should be able to do this at the resort.

Michelle is right. . but I just heard on the news that they are going to close the resorts and the parks next week because of the flu. . . :(

.

.

just kidding. .

;)

Are you threatening to kill yourself? Over a cruise?

no not really - im just really bumming here - ive been planning this for 11mos now - we have discussed a wdw vaca instead but we were both looking forward to a relaxing vaca and WDW is commando!

yes i did think of that but i think 8 nights may be too long there

Annual passes can not be purchased or exchanged at the resorts. You would have to go to a park or Downtown Disney Guest Relations.

You can only buy AP's at the parks. (that is if you want to exchange your park hoppers for them)

Imgoingtodisney,

I apologize if my attempt at humor was innapropiate. . I can unserstand stressing out over a vacation you've been planning so long when something threatens to mess it up. . :(

I will say that while it's certainly smart to keep up to speed on the situation and be prepared with alternative plans, there is still a good chance everything will go as planned. . . but even if things change, is any vacation worth putting yourself through this kind of emotional torture?

Take care of yourself. . . and I sincerely hope everthing works out for you and your family. . :)

I do have a question about AP's also. I hope someone will help me out.
I am a Disney Club member. My "benefits" say I get a certain amount of $ off if I buy an AP before I arrive.
If I am not a member of the DC (am not renewing since they are discontinuing it) & I go to buy an AP at TDS before I leave for WDW, will I still get the same amount of $ off the AP or does my DC membership give me $ off?

no problem Willy - that was kinda said tongue in cheek -
and of course there's the stress that if we do cruise any of the 3 of us could get sick and keep spreading it to each other

Thanks for the clarification, Debbie, I wasn't sure if the upgrade could be done at the resort or not. We've always just purchased ours at the International Gateway at Epcot, never a line there. :)

Brenda, there is no advance purchase discount for APs as there is with certain hopper passes. The only discount is the Disney Club discount. :)

So, maybe I need to look and see what that discount is & then see if it would be worth renewing the DC for their last year?

ANd while I am asking q's about the DC..... dooes anyone know if during this last year they will give a discount at TDS for merchandise as they do now or will that be stopped?

I'm glad we're cool. . :)

I can understand worrying about getting sick too. . no one would want that. But really, unless you sit in your house you run the risk of picking up a bug no matter what you do. While the virus sounds unpleasant, it certainly doesn't sound like anything life-threatening. .

Go on your cruise, take along plenty of NyQuil just in case, and always remmeber that the excitment of looking forward to something like this is a big part of the fun. . don't cheat yourself out of it. . :) :) :)

Good luck with everything. . and tak lot's of pictures.. :)

DC savings for advanced purchase of 2 adult, 1 child AP is about $45. Renewal of DC (I just did mine a couple days ago) is $27, if I recall, good through 12/03.

Disney doesn't have to be commando...its only what you make it. Its not the end of the world...jeez.

DOES NOT COMPUTE:cool: ;) ;)

WDW vacations can be TOTALLY RELAXING. It's ALL in your approach. Contrarily, there are people on cruises who schedule themselves to the MAX:rolleyes:   .......

Hey, here's hoping that DCL comes through!!!!!!!!!

imgoingtodisney, please take my word for it when I say that EVERYONE on the DIS will be relieved when you are able to go on your cruise.

And look at the bright side - if your DH is cooped up on the poop deck, he won't have to put on the big boy pants for dinner!! ;)
