They, like you or me or anyone, may have been tested and found positive before the accident. It’s also possible that in the investigation it was discovered that they had been having symptoms at the time of the accident. The ME may have then tested first Covid (or presumed them positive depending on the story). I can imagine that someone who was very sick (to the point of needing help oxygenating) may have been trying to drive (to the hospital for help or to the liquor store for their usual daily fifth of vodka) but lost consciousness and crashed.
Alcoholics can get Covid, too... and they’d make especially poor drivers.

Or, it could not be true (not the the OP is purposefully lying, just that the "broken telephone" ends up with a false story or some in the chain is purposefully lying).

There are too many people right now shouting fraud or hoax while people are dying. For a long time people were dying outside the health care system and were not counted at all in the COVID deaths.
If the OP cared so much, why wasn't the OP (and others) complaining about that?

Original poster I defy you to spend a day at my job with me. I’ll show you people all over the place suffocating even with high oxygen delivery. Then you can help me disconnect dead covid19 patients from the machines they were hooked up to. Then after lunch I’ll take you out to the parking lot to tour the 18 wheeler truck used to store the dead bodies. Then you can go home and discuss your day with your son.

I have no idea why you are responding to me the way you did. I do not in any way mean to downplay this horrible virus. I don’t know why you think I am. I hate that people are dying from this. I myself am in one of the high risk categories in that I have diabetes and high blood pressure and am over 60. So I am extremely fearful of getting it, and dying. And I can’t even imagine how difficult it is for people like you to have to see the horrors of this virus and deal with it every day.

I just am concerned that people are not all dying from the virus, yet some death certificates are saying people such as in my original post are dying from the virus.

But, you don't KNOW squat. You have taken as "fact" second hand hearsay. There is ZERO evidence in anything you've posted that any death certificates are being falsified or inaccurately state anything. Until there is such evidence, you've got nothing.

Why would they put covid-19 if it wasn’t, is there extra $$ in it for the coroner because of extra steps or exposure? Do counties or states get more funding ? Doesn’t make sense. The first thing that popped into my head was $$ has to be involved somehow

The lack of critical thinking and common sense in discussing and communicating about Covid-19 is causing so much fear and *******. I have friends on social media who are posting things that are patently untrue, half-truths or complete hearsay and what makes me upset is that all they are doing is contributing more to the unrest. Common sense and decency are being thrown out the window. I don't know if people are doing such things for attention or out of fear, but it's just not helpful at all.

How about those who are stressed or too emotional right now with all that is going on avoid social media, or at the very least avoid the topics that you don't want to discuss.
You don't get to tell others what to post or not, just move along and stick to topics you can handle reading about.

A lot of people don't want to see the reality of this situation for financial or political reasons. Unfortunately, too many people fall for that talk and don't take COVID seriously. Frankly it's disgusting how people downplay the loss off human life and prioritize the economy. It is also disheartening the amount of people who take this pseudoscience and propaganda seriously.

My daughter is an ICU nurse with all of the pulmonary patients. I have asked her about some of these thoughts before. What she said to me is that it is illegal to put down a false cause of death and the doctor that does that could lose his medical license. That being said what people don't realize is that this disease attacks the lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, etc. So if the actual cause of death is kidney failure it is still counted as a COVID death because the virus is what caused the kidney failure. They had a patient with so many tiny blood clots that they knew it would be pulmonary emboli or cardiac emboli that would be the cause of death but caused by the virus. She has nothing but COVID patients right now and she said that this is the most helpless she has ever felt as a nurse.

The patients dying from the virus are actually dying from other things technically but they are caused by the virus.

She gives me generalizations, never names or gender so as not to violate the HIPPA laws but she needs to talk to someone after a rough shift and who better than mom.

My heart goes out to your daughter. Her experiences are exactly what I'm hearing from my former co-workers. They said it's scary how quickly the patients can turn too.

Thank you I am terrified for her. She has already been tested once and it was negative thankfully but the longest 3 days of my life. She said the same thing but sometimes people they are sure will pass all of a sudden make a miracle positive turn around. There are so many unknown factors with this disease and that it is even more scary.
