It is still a bra!

So if you have small girls, a sports bra is ok but if you have big girls it's not ok?

No, the sports bra would be made so that the material of the second pink sports bra would go over the one above it, to hide the support. You know, the bra part is underwear.

I'm willing to bet that if you had a hard, athletic body you would have no problem showing your midriff in a bikini bathing suit.

Why? Not everyone needs to show their skin just because they may be fit. Some people may be more conservative or modest. Is there anything wrong with that? :confused3

I was thinking the same thing. Some people clearly don't understand females working out.

I do understand. When I work out, I wear a top over my underwire bra. And when I dance ballet, I wear my leotard over my underwire bra.

The temperature today here is 85 with humidity up to 80%. So I DO know what it's like to work out in hot weather wearing two layers. I still cover my bra.

Apparently there is. And people here will shame you for that difference in taste & opinion.

You must be lazy.
You must not work out.
You must be jealous.
You must be FAT. (And yes, I said fat, not pooh sized.)

Those are the only imaginable reasons.

What's the difference showing most of your legs and arms? There is no indecent of the body hanging out with a sports bra. I have no problem with people being more conservative but that is your choice.

I think it's hilarious that you are all quoting me.

I was thinking midriff, not so much arms and legs. Sorry if I misinterpreted your comment. :flower3:

Yeah, to me, it would then be a "mini tank top."

To me, :scratchin I guess it's the difference between wearing a "top" and wearing a "bra" in public.

Unless, one is clearly wearing "Madonna" wear, in which the intent is, "I'm purposely wearing a bra/bustier for you to look at," I generally think of undergarments as under garments, where the support is hidden. :scratchin

A sports bra is not the same thing as an underwear bra. I would expect the girls cross county or track team to be sports bras while training. Let's call them sports tops instead and then it should be OK.

So then no problems with mini tank tops in public while engaging in an athletic activity?

No problem. :)

::yes:: :thumbsup2

Op again - those who wear a sports bra and nothing else - would you wear a regular bra out with nothing over it? Would you wear your panties out with nothing over them? What's the point of underwear if it is actually outerwear?:sad2::scratchin

I think my age is showing...lol

No, I wouldn't wear my bra or my panties out w/ nothing over them.

However, I do wear my sports bra w/ a loose tank top over it out, & it's quite obvious I'm wearing a sports bra. It's hard to describe but my tank top hangs down below my sports bra in the chest area & under my arms.

When I'm wearing regular clothes, you can't see my bra. However, in workout attire, even w/ a tank top, you can see my sports bra.

In fact, DH & I just came back from the track. After the track, we stopped at Hobby Lobby & the grocery store. I had on my work out shorts, my sports bra, & a loose tank top.

I would not be opposed to just wearing my sports bra, but I've always worn a tank top w/ it - just because, after 3 kids, it's better that way. ;)

I guess I see a sports bra as workout attire instead of underwear.

I'm 40 if it matters.

So because it's called a 'bra', they can't wear it how they want? What if it's called a 'snufferdoodle'?

Love it! That is such an awesome phrase that I think I'm going to be referring to a sports bra as a snufferdoodle from now on. ;)

I'm willing to bet that if you had a hard, athletic body you would have no problem showing your midriff in a bikini bathing suit and what is the difference between wide straps and thin straps?

That is pretty rude and closed-minded. Modesty does not mean one is ashamed of one's body. I do not currently have a "hard athletic body" but I'm not exactly a manatee either. Before I had children I had a very tiny flat stomach and I still did not bare my midriff.

The difference between wide straps and thin straps is the number of inches across the length of the strap? You asked what I swim in and I told you. The maternity swim top I wear right now has wide straps. Wide enough to cover a bra strap.

Sent from me.

There is a difference between a running/workout/sports bra and a top that supports the breasts while running. It may be labeled as a bra, but its really more of a top. I have some running bras that are not made to wear alone, and you can see the difference between the two types.
If I had the body, yes I would wear one of those tops.

I'm here - I was just away from the computer for a bit and there are 5 pages of responses! Where to begin?!;)

I work out, I wear a sports bra and a tank over it.
I'm not jealous.
I'm not fat and I'm not lazy.
I just wouldn't wear my undergarments out of the house. Personal preference and maybe just me. (I'm 45 btw)
For the record I don't like seeing the boys cross country team running half nekkid either.
....In my day we wore shirts - Pembo says in her old lady's voice. :) That's supposed to be funny. :lmao:

I keep my snufferdoodle under my clothes. I also wear a tankini at the beach or pool.
I buy my sports bra in the lingerie dept. Guess I might feel different if I bought one in the work-out section. :confused3

Didn't mean to make people so wound up, just venting.
