Oh Felicia!! I'm so sorry to hear that now YOU have cancer! You and your mom were so supportive of me while I was being treated for breast cancer - it's just awful to hear that now cancer got YOU.

I know absolutely nothing about thyroid cancer, but from what others have already posted, it sounds like it has a high cure rate. You're doing the right thing by getting a second opinion (your doctor isn't the one your mom saw first is it? I remember that doctor didn't know what he was talking about).

If I HAD to have a cancer...statistacally I would choose thyroid. {{{Hugs}}} and prayers. I am sorry for the added stress and worry and extra surgery.

You all got me crying again

Yes, it has been a hard year for me, but you all have been here when I needed you. Can't thank you enough for that. I guess I'm just scared of doing surgery again and the "fear of the unknown" of not knowing what to expect. I have read many stories today about what people have gone through and some sound pretty scary. The positive thing is I came through the first surgery feeling great although I have read of many that don't: they are swollen, in pain, and I wasn't. So maybe that is how the surgery will go this time. Just worried about the whole "hypo" state. Gotta just hold on until they find the right dose of meds for me.

I am scared. My eyes are practicly swollen shut from crying today, I'll look pretty bad in the morning!

Thank you all so much for everything for being here. Good thing the DIS has Big Shoulders for my crying on!

Felicia.. honey.. do not listen to any horror stories.........I shared with you that my daughter was in second stage papillary carcinoma......in over 6 lymph nodes and she is doing fine.. she is clean of the cancer...she also like you had two operations.. one to remove the lump in her neck.. as that is where it was on her right side.. and we waited 10 days for the pathology report.. we thought it was a cyst.. no biggie.... but then we got the verdict...so she also had two operations.. please.. if you have any questions, I am here..

Felicia, please allow me to add my prayers and best wishes also. It seems that so many of us have stories of how cancer has affected us in some way....way to many stories. Sometimes we only hear of the 'bad' results. Know that there are many more survivors out there that you never hear about. Be strong, do what you have to do to get better.
