Ok so my family and my sisters family is going for 10 days to WDW, we will be getting 3 rooms at AoA, either 3 cars suite's or 2 cars and 1 LM. Our mother will be joing us the 4 days how do add her mid trip I think we can either get her own LM or have our package end and start another one. We will be getting the dinning plan
I just don't know, ideas???

:confused3

Are you getting the dining plan? Will she be using ME?

Things are easier if you aren't using the dining plan or if you don't mind her not being on the dining plan. In that case, just talk to the front desk when you get there and they can take care of adding her to the existing reservation for only the nights she will be there. You can't do this ahead of time because the way the packages are set up everyone in the package has to be on the reservation for the entire time. That means if you are getting a dining plan, she would be included on it for the entire time. If you add her to the reservation when you arrive, they can add her easily to the room reservation for the nights she is actually there, but she won't be able to have the dining plan. You can either pay for her meals out of pocket or have her on the reservation for the entire time and use her dining plan credits yourself.

ME is another issue. Once she is on the room reservation, you can call the DME and have it set up for her. If you do this at checkin, it would be too late for her to get luggage tags, but she can provide the DME desk with her luggage claim tickets and a description of her bags and they will go get them for her.

If you have the dining plan and want to end one package and start a different one that includes her, you would have to buy a second set of 1 day tickets to get the dining plan (or 2 day tickets if you have the free dining offer).

Great question I edited my post, yes we will be getting the dinning plan. You have some great ideas here. I think we will just be picking her up at the airport. Thanks!

You mention possible getting Mom her own LM room, obviously that would be the easiest option without impacting the rest of the reservation. She could have ME (receive her luggage tags in time) and dining plan for the time she's there.

If you decide to put her on your reservation for the full time, you'll have extra dining credits to share among the party (those in the same room), and I suggest getting the minimum days of ticket's required (1-day or 2-day for free dining). Then you can upgrade the tickets to the correct # of day each person needs - you/family upgrade to 10-days and Mom upgrades to 4-days or whatever.

If you split your reservation into parts, you would need to purchase the minimum ticket required for dining (1 day or 2-day if free dining) for each segment of your reservation, which can add up quickly, however the "extra" set of tickets can be held for another trip if completely unused for park entry. Dining credits end on the day of check-out, and by splitting your reservation you essentially check-out and check-in again, so you'd need to manage your dining credits appropriately as well.

Enjoy your vacation!

Are you against just adding your mom to your suite reservation? Then you could do just 2 suites depending on how big the family is. That would be the cheapest option. You can add her now before your trip and she'll get dining, tickets, and DME or you can add her once you are there and pay for her food and tickets OOP

If not I'd just get her her own LM reservation that way you don't have to get an extra set of tickets to get dining

But the OP and others in the group are going for 10 days. OP's Mom is only coming for 4 days. To add her to one of the Suites, they would have to add her (and pay for) the entire 10 days.

it wouldn't cost any extra to add her for the whole 10 days unless they are paying OOP for the dining plan obviously. They still have to buy her tickets and there's no add'l adult fee in a suite. The suite price with 2 adults is going to be the same base price with 3 adults. I'd get the base ticket required for dining then just upgrade days at the park for how ever many days you want. You can do 10 days for your family and upgrade your mom's to 4 days when she arrives. If you get her her own room that's another fee all together
