I remember this from several years ago. Doubt that it's true, but very funny. Why would this guy waste his time writing notes about the soap instead of just ignoring them? If he leaves them there, they won't keep leaving more.

Anyone else wondering why the guy wouldn't just throw the soaps out?

Some people are very particular about service. Especially if they are used to being in positions of authority and are used to having things done a certain way. If they are in any kind of 4-5 star hotel, they should expect to get the the service they ask for, especially since the gratuity is already added on to the bill as it is in Europe. It becomes the principle of the thing.
