Stormy and Kermit!! I can't handle the cuteness!

So---I was hoping since you have a tiana running outfit that maybe stormy would be ray, but I don't think the red and black would make a lightning bug. So I'm torn between two guesses--either Mickey or Dash? Not feeling very confident about either of those choices.

They fabric is orange and brown, lol. And yeah, he's not gonna be from Princess and the Frog, he's from one of my other favorites. One parent is allowed to run with the child in the Kid's Races, and Baloo will be joining him, wearing a blue shirt and hat.

Any revised guesses? And sorry that Stormy's not modeling it. I made a...rather egregious sewing error (been kicking myself since yesterday when I figured it out.) I did not cut the shirt correctly, so the stretch of the fabric is going the wrong way aaaannnd....

I can't fit the shirt collar over Stormy's gigantic baby head. Whoops.

I've got extra fabric and it took about an hour to make, so no real harm. Just annoying.

Now I know!! Wreck it ralph and fix it Felix!!! I love that movie--how could I not have gotten that! I hope you post a picture of them--I can't wait to see it! And how cute that they're opposites of the movie (tiny Ralph and big Felix vs big Ralph and tiny Felix). I love it!

I thought I'd replied to this. Oops!

We were at Great Lakes Crossings Mall (the outlet mall), and I think the Disney store there is an Outlet as well, but most of the time they seem like a normal Disney store with an extra large clearance section (which mostly consists of Disney World/Disney Land merchandise), and I did get the hats from the clearance section, so they could be park stuff.

The vacation nightmares are starting to set it! That must mean it's close.

Last night, I dreamed that we hadn't packed yet, it was 7:30am, and our ride to the airport hadn't shown up yet (it takes about an hour to get to our airport), and how were we gonna make it there on time?!? It's kind of funny, because we're going to be parking our car at the airports parking garage, so no ride to depend on, and I half woke up during the dream and went "wait, if we leave at 7:30, we're not making it on time anyway, cuz the flight leaves at 8..." then fell back asleep, and started freaking out more in the dream. So, yeah. Gonna be a fun couple weeks if that keeps up...


I finished the first of my park outfits! I love how it came up <3 The character is Dr. Faciler, and I'm going to find some black (or purple, if I can...) capris, and I've got some sugar skull earrings to wear, and possibly a skull/crossbones hairpin. =D

I also tried using this tutorial: http://meanderingsofthemind1426.blogspot.com/2012/05/one-yard-shirt.html?m=1 to make a shirt for Mama Odie, but she didn't mention that she used 60'' width fabric (vs 45'' fabric, which I got), so it didn't work out. I'm about to work on test dress number 2 (as the first was a size too small, nuts!) after my yoga workout.

I love that stormy is reading chicka chicka boom boom! I used to have that book memorized because the boys I nanny used to love it and i'd end up reading it about 10 times a day! I still don't have to look at the first few pages when I read it to my girls.....glad to know I've used up precious brain space on "a told b and b told c, i'll meet you at the top of the coconut tree!"

anyway, his running outfit is TOO TOO cute! you did an awesome job!

Haha, he loooooves his chicka chicka boom boom book! It was my younger sisters fave too, so there was a time I had it memorized. She had a cassette tape that sang it to her too. Right now he's obsessing over Letters and Numbers (I blame the Sesame Street...) and so whenever he sees letters, he goes crazy pointing them out to us (shopping has become the biggest ordeal, esh...). It's also pretty funny when he gets a letter right, and a cashier goes all bug eyed, thinking he totally knows what he's talking about. He's destroyed a number of his board books, but Chicka he is so veeerrry careful with, I can actually hand it to him to "read" and not worry about the spine being broken when I come back.

Thanks! <3 I've had a lot of fun sewing all the stuff I'm/we're gonna be wearing. It's been really great stress relief, too. Usually I leave everything til the last second and am all "AGGH GOTTA GET THIS DONE IN 2 HOURS!", but this time I've had the time to go and make everything perfect, yay!

I dropped the ball and totally missed posting on the first Single Digits Day! (yes, it is important enough to warrant caps) So anyway.

EIGHT DAYS LEFT.

JUST EIGHT. I can almost use 1 hand to count how many days left!

Finally got my running costume put together.
Tahdah!

I like it. I think it gets across Tiana's swamp dress. My sis drew the lilypad flower that's on my shirt, and I printed it off as an iron on.

Stormy's outfits are all ready for wearing too!

The three on the left are the ones I did (I had fun with iron ons...) and the two on the right are ones I bought. Love the Monsters U one, hehe!
If you can't read the left most shirt, it says "Frying Pans, Who knew right?"
The blue shirt, I got the iron on as a download from Disney Movie Rewards
And the last one is Wilbur Robinson's shirt (And I'd run out of dark tshirt transfers, boo)

And finally...I made a hat! It's for Baloo.

I tried to do an iron on for the hat too....It didn't end well.
So I had some felt laying around, just had to go out and get some glue sticks.

Your running outfit is totally cute! Awesome job with all the iron ons. I love them too but haven't attempted making any yet. I'm going to be trying soon for a quilt I'm making so I might be asking you for tips!

And, of course, mostly I love that you can totally tell there's a kid in your house by all the Legos on the floor behind you. It looks just like our floor! ah, parenthood...
