Set in stone, huh? Time will tell. At my house, once the ADR changing commences nothing is ever set in stone until the day arrives.

We'll see, we'll see...

In fact, might I recommend getting back the Kona ADR and taking Leo to the Neverland Club so you and your mom can have a nice dinner together. We did this...James loved it and so did the rest of us.

I've been seriously thinking about sending him over there, but I don't think it'll happen this trip. We're only there 5 nights and, with it getting dark earlier and the holiday festivities, have fun stuff planned for each evening. I'm also not sure how well he'd take to it. As a general rule, he takes a long time to warm up to other kids if I'm not around - one of the hazards of an only-child raised by a single parent! I think we'll take a look at one of the clubs early on and see what he thinks, then go from there.

I’m pretty sure the folks at the Disney Travel Co. have me flagged as a Troublemaker of Highest Degree. BUT, guess what? Again….

No, I'm pretty sure I have that title....both for making and reversing ADR's AND for changing room reservations probably 10 times this past August & September. I couldn't decide, just couldn't decide where to stay. I was like a crazy woman for about 5 days....and I couldn't talk about it out loud because the trip is a surprise for our kids.

I had so many reservation numbers written on the back side of a November calendar that I couldn't figure out which ADR was still in play. I had to call in a forensic expert from CSI to decipher my notes.

I haven't called WDW to change an ADR's in a month. I must be ill.

hey! I feel your story! my ex walked out and is now engaged to my old friend!!
we were divorced last Nov and I didn't know if I could go on to Disney that NYE like we had before. But then I decided-screw him-I am doing it for me and my kids and he is not taking that from me! So, my mom came with us last NYE and then again this past July and now again this upcoming NYE. I actually have a much better time with her!! .....Back to your report...sorry for rambling...you are a kindred soul!!

It's amazing how firendships twist and turn in connection with divorces, isn't it? My ex didn't get involved with any mutual friends, but quite a few of my friendships changed drastically thanks to all the drama.
I'm so sorry for your loss, but glad to hear you kept on swimming, just like Dory would tell us to!

Honestly, we were just walking along and were so hungry and hot. It had to have been about 2:30 and we read the menu outside and thought ok, sounds doable. Ate there and loved it.

I didn't even know where we just ate.

Then came back and got on the dis and figured from all the threads that's were we ate. We loved it. My son has food allergies and there are places I'm afraid to even walk into. So when we find something that works, we don't try to change it, much.

This just in......

This was supposed to be a new planning installment, detailing more of the exciting plans about to unfold in a mere few weeks. But that will have to wait, as we have a change in The Plan! (Is ANYONE surprised??!!)

We were scheduled to begin our visit to The Mouse on 12/1. That's a Friday and an optimum touring day for theme parks, so I wanted to be at a theme park bright and early that morning. It takes about 2 hours to get from home to WDW, so we'd need to leave at 7am..... putting us in the thick of rush hour traffic between Tampa and Orlando and possibly increasing our travel time by an hour or more.

How do we solve such a problem?? Oddly enough, I had some outpatient surgery last Friday and in my painkiller-induced-fog, the answer presented itself to me like magic


Add another night and drive over Thursday afternoon!
Clearly, this was the correct decision, as POR had plenty of availability still, AND at my AP rate. The only hurdle was DM. She still wasn't sold on the need to spend 5 nights at The World, let alone 6. My method for convincing her?

LESS.
STRESS.


I simply explained that if we want to avoid crowds, (remember DM is NOT a crowd person), we must get to the park of choice early. If we head over the morning of 12/1, we'll be rushing and facing off crowds all day long with no time to settle into the hotel. But, if we head over Thurs. afternoon, we avoid all rush hour traffic, and have plenty of time to settle in, check out POR and have a nice dinner. Guess what?

SHE BOUGHT IT!!!

And so, the new, revised, and final(ish) plan is:
11/30-12/2 POR
12/3-12/5 BWI

And now, back to our regular reporting....

Thanks, I'm doing fine physically, but the anesthesia had the undesireable effect of totally screwing my short-term memory. When I got to work yesterday, I seriously had no memory of dropping Leo off at school!

I pulled the ol' "Less Stress" on DH and decided to add a day to our next trip. I mean, it does take us 1 full day to travel and I told him if we take an afternoon flight and get to WDW in the late evening, then we can just go straight to POFQ and go to sleep and be ready bright and early in the morning.

Less stress by not having to get up at the crack of dawn to make an early flight and less stress about rushing to the resort to get some theme park time so late in the afternoon. HE BOUGHT IT!!! Muahahahaha!!!

Hey, hope your sugery went well and wasn't too serious. I did miss ya! Noticed no new posts... and thought you were slackin' off. Well, now that I know what's going on.... get crackin' girl! Your trip is less than 30 days away!!

It's getting close now! Can you feel it? That Disney Holiday Magic? I look around our local stores and see all of the Christmas stuff lining the shelves, and then it hits me - We'll be in WDW for the holidays! WooHoo!

Good luck with adding/changing your ADR's! I just tried to do that yesterday and it was like pulling teeth to try and get something for our party of 5! Luckily, it all worked out, and I'm not going to try and change my ADR's again! LOL!
