Hello friends,

Desperately seeking a spot where we can order a Chocolate Soufflé for an upcoming birthday/anniversary dinner. We aren't necessarily too picky when it comes to dinner, but would like to find something that has a nice ambiance.

We are traveling in November (2 adults). I thought I had read that they have one at V&As? But, I'm not sure if we'd ever be able to snag a reservation, so I'm looking for other options.

We LOVED our chocolate soufflé at Palo (I think) when we did the DCL a few years back...that dessert was a dream.

Any other chocolate desserts you can recommend at Disney or Disney Springs Restaurants?

Thanks for any feedback you can share. Have a happy day!

This is great news steg! Thank you so much for responding. I don't know anything about Shula's but the menu looks great! Would it be a good pick for a special occasion dinner?

Any other recommendations are warmly welcomed as well.

Happy planning! And, thanks for reading! :)

@Shea&Van I'd definitely say it's suitable for a special occasion dinner depending on where else you're planning on eating. It's generally quiet and the staff is professional and well dressed but doesn't, in my option, have the "specialness" of Victoria and Alberts or California Grill at fireworks time.

However there's no guarantee either of those will have Chocolate Souffle! Shula's hasn't changed their menu in years and considering it's made to order it's unlikely or impossible that you will not be able to order it. When dining at Victoria and Alberts there's been times where they only have Gran Mariner Souffle and not the Chocolate or at least it was not offered as an option while another time we went they had both Gran Mariner and Chocolate.

Service has always been great for us, we've gone about a half dozen times in comparison to STK once (so far) and Yachtsman once . The steaks we've had at STK are slightly better than Shula's but atmosphere and for the overall meal I still feel Shula's wins out. If you haven't been there before they will also wheel out the steaks on a giant cart and walk you through all the cuts they have for the night.

It's always consistent and reasonably priced especially in the alcohol category in comparison to other Disney restaurants. I would make sure to mention you want the souffle at the beginning of the meal if your server doesn't ask you up front A few of their desserts including the souffle and the are made or baked to order and can take 30 minutes to come out including the apple crisp and chocolate lava cake. We've had some servers warn us up front and others not mention it at all.

I would also highly recommend the Crab Macaroni and Cheese as well and the BBQ Shrimp if you're a fan of tomato-vinegar BBQ Sauce.

We also have had luck splitting larger steaks, some nights they have larger cuts like tomahawk ribeyes as specials, we encountered that one night and got a 24 oz porterhouse and the 32 oz tomahawk and one side per person (sides usually cover 2 people) along with two souffles to close out the meal and ended up out the door for less than $50/pp for a table of 5 including TiW discount.

I agree with steg - I always get the chocolate soufflé at Shula's. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you so much @steg ! The details you shared are exactly what I was hoping to hear. I think we will definitely give this a try. I really appreciate all the specific information you put into your response.

Thanks also @DeniseJH for your additional vote of confidence.

Have a happy day DisPals!! :)

@steg, so Shula's 'does' accept TIW? I was under the impression they didn't!! :confused3

Also, what is their dress code, if any??

okay I had no idea shula's had chocolate souffle. I'm thinking it may be on our list for next trip with my filet mignon loving child.

Yes on my latest visit with a party of 6 it saved me $83 (as I would typically tip 20% that gets added automatically anyway especially considering the level of service I typically receive there)

As for dress code, we came from a park so I was in a disney tee and plaid "dress" shorts. We had another person in jean shorts and another disney tee.

This thread has made me reevaluate my dining choices and drop Flying Fish for Shula's
