ISO a site for classy tween dresses

I have had good luck with Dillards in the past

I had some luck - looked online @ Penny's & hit our local store & found her a dress -had to order the color she wanted thru the catalog -picked it up today & found 1 other my MIL bought for her b'day in a couple weeks.

In the meantime went to the next city over (largeish city) & found 2 more we liked - so we ended up with 3 dresses - all but 1 were similar to each other babydoll styles

and found I think 3 sleeveless capri/pants outfits.

I think we ended up doing well - I'm glad we shopped early - wouldn't have been so lucky I bet in a couple of weeks.

she is only 11 and does not have all the necessary accessories needed for a proper fit of many of the Junior styles nor are many of them Mother/Father approved. We finally found a nice babydoll style that was not too short or hoochie at JC Pennys.

EXACTLY....though these babydolls are being borderline being too short (she's 5'5" & 100lbs) -especially since she still needs to remember how to sit like a lady....:lmao:

If your DD still wears the girls sizes the Burlington has an amazing selection of dresses and almost always under $30.

My issue with my tween is that she is wearing a Juniors medium or a 9/11 - she is 5'4" tall and already 125#'s - she can no longer wear a girls 16, no more princess dresses for her.

Finding her Christmas dress was tricky, she is only 11 and does not have all the necessary accessories needed for a proper fit of many of the Junior styles nor are many of them Mother/Father approved. We finally found a nice babydoll style that was not too short or hoochie at JC Pennys.

I share your problem - my DD11 is about the same size as yours. Casual clothes are no problem, but dressy stuff is hard to find. I haven't shopped JCP in years, but may have to try them again.

I have a somewhat similar/related question... What about shoes for their pretty dresses, my dd (11) wears a woman's size 8, it is impossible to find appropriate dressy shoes for her. I'm just wondering if anyone might have some suggestions...

This is a HARD one. DD also has big feet and when she was 11/12 we could never find appropriate shoes. We had the best luck at Kohl's for her. We found some nice flat at DSW too.

My 12 year old wears a womens size 7. She does not like heels so we have had great luck at either Kohl's or even Payless. She likes the American Eagle style shoes at Payless so that works for her. She got a nice pair of appropriate flats that goes with all of her dresses.

we hunted shoes yesterday - well kinda - only went to one store & tried on 25 pairs LOL we ended up with thong sandals in white with silver accent - just about all the other shoes have heels. DD wears a ladies 9  - I do know that shoe staion has a fabulous selection of ladies shoes - which just don't go there without a coupon. May stop buy soon just to see what's out there.

We also buy a lot from payless -for all 3 girls -though their shoes run very wide - I can't wear them
