Hi. I want to take my little ones to the character dining at the Islands Dining Room at the Royal Pacific. I can't find a thing online about their menu other than what type of fare it is in general and about the fact that it is expensive. I love the fact that they said it is off the menu vs. buffet, but I just want to know how expensive are we talking and what we can look forward to eating. I mean I like scooby as much as the next person, but I'm not trying to pay the price of a family of 4 admission to a park for dinner.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!

I found this on the Loew's website. It lists a phone # you can call for more info:

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, they don't list a dinner menu or I am totally missing it because my eyes are crossing from sitting in front of this computer 14 hours a day planning this trip!!!

I'll keep looking. Thanks!

Like I said, we haven't eaten there, but the kid's menus are the same for lunch and dinner, and the adult lunch looks like it has some "dinner" items, like steak, so i guess it would be a guideline if nothing else.

On Monday night it is Scooby Doo & Shaggy, on Tuesday it is Shrek & Princess Fiona and on Saturday it is Curious George & Woody Woodpecker. We ate there twice, once with Shrek and once with Scooby Doo and both times we had EXCELLENT character interaction! One time we were able to sit by the kid's buffet, but the other time the area was filled up and we had to eat just outside it. The characters visit the tables all over the restaurant though. The food was good and not too expensive.

Thanks so much for that answer jo-jo21!! It is good to hear of someone who did it and I'm thrilled to hear the character interaction is good. Some of the character meals don't get too high marks on that. I did get an e-mail from them with the menu included and there are some fun and yummy things on there with price ranges for entrees from 14-28 bucks, so something for everyone and even at the most expensive priced entree, it is still less expensive for a couple than some other character dinners where all you get is the cookie cutter buffet. Oh, I wanted to ask you about the kids room where they play. The gal said we could request to sit there. Do you think that is a good idea? I wasn't sure if they had the kids buffet in there too or not.

Just curious about your thoughts on that!

Thanks again for your time.

firsttimermd, when I was there the kid's room was a separate area off to the side. The kid-sized buffet was along part of one wall and there were adult sized tables along the rest of the perimeter. The kid sized tables were in the inner circle and in the center of the room was a big bed-like platform with pillows and curtains and tvs on the ceiling. I think you should request eating in there - we were able to on one night and my son enjoiyed it. Shrek and him lied down and watched tv.

Great pix! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much!! Those are great pictures. I get more excited every time I see something like that. I hit it off with the gal that took my reservation and sent me the e-mail with the menu and she said she'd be sure that we are seated in the kids area, but I wanted to check here first for opinions. It sounds perfect because I have a little one that will be 15 months and it will be great to have a little spot for her to stretch her legs. I'm so glad I found this character meal!

Take care and thanks again!
