But at this point, I'm leaning toward the belief that all the dedicated 2BRs are TPV (there may not be very many of them!), and that Disney is listing the lock-offs as separate 1BR/S for cash bookings to maximize revenue.
Yikes! Same now, with this new information

Yeah, seeing the same thing. Screenshots from that calculator here --

I guess it's always possible that this system shares an underlying dataset with the cash bookings, which is why these values are already populated, and that there may be S/P 2BRs added at a later date.

I would say that seems very likely. The only piece of this I don’t like is that getting the 2 bedrooms at the SV will be much harder since those appear to be all lock offs.

With all the PVB points already out there, I can see this being a BWV SV situation.

I do think there is a lot of beige or browns in the rooms, but I think that gives off cleaner vibes than if you had blue or green carpet. Nothing can really be determined until you are physically in the rooms. VDH are nice rooms in the pictures but having been there twice now, I know that there are rooms that the decorations are worn and it just opened in September. Practical is better than broken

If there are any childless/childfree millennials out there who would like to experience the chaos of 3 children under the age of 4 at Disney next February, I will happily loan them out to you at no cost for 3-4 hours while my wife and I go out to dinner at Narcoossee’s or Jiko.

Only serious inquiries please.

Is this offer open to millennials with older children? If you have a TPV penthouse villa I’m happy to babysit them from say oh I don’t know, 8-12 while you enjoy a nice dinner. 😉

It does appear to me that the only dedicated 2 bdr are the theme park view. The Disney points calculator is updated on the Dvc site (no points values) to show the different room types and I see no standard or preferred. https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/destinations/list/florida/polynesian-villas-bungalows

This does seem to confirm that all of the dedicated 2 bedroom villas are Theme Park View.

For those of us who love the dedicated 2 bedroom villas in DVC resorts, this could be a deciding factor in purchase decisions.

It could become harder to book a dedicated 2 bedroom villa than a duo studio.

.

Wonder if they’ll adjust the point chart accordingly (upwards!).

I fear this too, but my hope is they make the points chart high enough on the tower deluxe studio side that it pushes people towards booking longhouses.

Also, this makes me really happy to have an 11 month booking window knowing my family will be in a 1bedroom for the next 12+ years

We are in the 1 BR booking category for most of our stays but I think the points chart is going to require more points than we currently own to book like we are used to.

I don’t think our 350 points will go very far in a 1 BR during any of the higher seasons.

My guess is that 350 points will get you 5-7 nights in a 1BR in seasons 5 or 6, depending on view, just slightly more expensive than VGF.

Well we are doing 8 nights in December, 5 nights of that is 1 BR and we plan to go back for spring break. Points for 1 BR’s go much further at BCV/BRV/CCV so those are typically the ones we book.

Since we own at Poly we might use the booking window to do a few 1 BR nights and then split stay in a studio somewhere else

By any chance 😆 did the person that designed the tower happen to also work for Hilton? I just opened a link to “Conrad Orlando” a Hilton property and there are several notable design elements that seem a bit coincidental.

You start with the insult by implying it’s just a “Hilton”… using the term twice….and then glance over that the Conrad brand is one of their highest luxury property lines…..

Also, outside of a tan color paler they look absolutely nothing alike.

Oh no, I’m not trying to throw shade on anyone. I’m just in shock that they have straight up plagiarized design elements from that hotel. That’s why I’m asking if the designer worked for both properties. Maybe everyone else sees something different, but I see two green panels one on each wall just inside the front doors of the Conrad and to me they appear to be the same color as the tower 🤷🏼‍♀️ edited to add: upon closer inspection BOTH panels (Disney&Hilton) start off with tan/pink tones, then balayage to the turquoise, then balayage back to tan/pink.
