Probably, but given how close we should be to direct sales, if I am a buyer, I am waiting to see the price of direct because if what happened with VGf happens with this, resale will go back down pretty quickly!

My guess is that with incentives, people will get direct, 200 point level, for just around $200.
How close do you think we might be to direct sales ❓

Those of us that go regularly are just a totally different beast and I agree 100%. The way we all do Disney is just vastly different. I would wager most of us "regulars" aren't gogogo the room is a place to sleep and shower types. But maybe I'm projecting :D
100% us. We take the number of nights we’re staying, divide by 2, minus 1…that’s how many park days we do.
Ex:
6 nights at Disney
6/2 -1= 2 park days

The rest is chilling at the resort— isn’t that the point of a vacation????👍👍

Could we see Disney hold onto some allotment of the points to book for cash? If sales continue to be strong on cash side, would they want to make it all DVC resort? Do we think that is likely?

4) Moana is at the height of her popularity for sure. But it's also an 8 year old franchise and that starts to get into a cross generational appeal. Young Gen Z and she remains extremely popular to Gen Alpha. This is definitely not a vanilla franchise of the week anymore, she's pretty established as a mainstay. She's also currently the most popular princess in the lineup, which is saying something (Anna and Elsa are not part of the princess lineup).
Agreed and I’d say it’s got even deeper cross-generational appeal. I was in my mid-20s when Moana came out (Belle and Ariel were my everything as a kid) so I’m very much a millennial and I felt an instant kinship and love for her story and music and she quickly became my favorite princess. I’m sure there’s many a 30-40 year old here in these boards who agree. She will remain a classic for me and I hope she stays in these parks and resorts for as long as I keep coming back.

Yes. Since nothing has been actually declared into the association for sale and points booking, they could decide to hold tight on pricing.

One reason many of us surmise we have not seen more aggressive pricing to sell RiV is that they have a good cash following so not in any rush,

One thing I do wonder is whether they use the cash bookings in any way to decide on initial incentives. If this turns popular, they may decode to start higher than if it doesn’t book well.

I watched the room tour video and it doesn’t look like there’s an additional vanity in the Master bedroom…only the one inside the master bathroom. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I love the extra vanity because 2 people can get ready in the master bedroom without needing the same vanity area….no fighting over mirror or sink.
I realize there’s a second bathroom in the 1 bedroom but that’s usually used by the people sleeping in the living room.

Some fun with the numbers. Might help on guesses for point charts. Using numbers from his article plus my own phone call.
@pkrieger2287

Dec 17
  • PVB longhouse SV studio shows as $1238.63 on WDW website( without DVC discount), so I think it would be roughly $929 for that night.
  • PVB longhouse LV studio $1505.25 (without DVC discount). Using 25% discount would be $1128.75
  • Tower Duo Standard view $696.94
  • Tower Duo Theme Park view $1159.88
  • Tower Deluxe studio view $1271.54
  • Tower 1BR standard view $1346.63
  • Tower 2BR penthouse theme park view $5024.25
If I have the discount (25%) right, crazy that a duo theme park view room appears to be more than a longhouse deluxe studio lake view. I realize it is higher up and will not have its view blocked, but surprises me.

this debate about DVC/Disney putting too much IP into some of their resorts is nonsense. When done tastefully with classic movies and characters, it’ll always be a hit. The classics like Mary Poppins, Lion King, Moana, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Frozen, Snow White, etc will never go out of style in a hotel/DVC room…as long as you do it tastefully.

What they did jamming the incredibles into the Contemporary was the exact opposite of tasteful. It was more along the lines of the Value Resort themes.
