Let’s hope whatever he has is contagious ❤️
Chatty Cathy just came in from outdoors. I put a bit extra caffeine in our coffee this morning, so I firmly believe that is what happened. That is my story and I am sticking to it!

I'll light a candle for you LOL! :poop:

That figures.

I will be on the Disney Magic all next week.

I hope the guides on the Magic are in the loop, as I will have lots of questions and ALL DAY to ask them. lol
.
we are heading that way soon as well... plan on going to the trivia game (which we know all the answers to since they don't change it often enough) and hoping for some big news on Polynesian to ask.... Wonder who the guides will be on the boat this time!

This raises an interesting question for me. Are the fixed-week contracts automatically tied to a certain room or are they just tied to the room category? Is DVC required to leave a certain percentage of the points open versus fixed? I'm wondering specifically about the penthouse units since they have the most scarcity. Could they sell both the theme park views as week 52s as fixed weeks effectively taking them out of booking?

They can’t sell more than 40% 35% of any room-view-week combo as fixed.

So if there are in fact only 2 penthouse TPVs, they can’t sell a FW for it at all.

Edit - had % wrong

I haven't seen this shared yet - virtual tour of the Island Tower two bedroom unit (lock off). It looks a lot like the VDH to me, size wise.

ETA - this was interesting (taken from the virtual tour):
"Choose from a variety of view options including Standard, Preferred, Seven Seas Lagoon, and Theme Park View"

I didn't think we had a Seven Seas Lagoon view category? Did I miss that?

2nd edit:
1 bedroom link only: https://matterport.com/discover/space/DHdbGPfmFeb
Studio link only: https://matterport.com/discover/space/dkbTLFqwN4j

Quick update - Matterport has removed the tours (for now). I'm assuming they accidentally publicly released them a bit too early! I'll keep an eye out to see if they return.

Is there a cdn3? It seems the 2025 Point charts are all stored on cdn1 but didn't know if @maui22 was able to find anything else during his excellent investigation.

I haven’t been able to find anything.
I believe they have the same point charts on both cdn1 and cdn2, but I am on my phone so I can’t see them side by side. If so, they probably have redundant servers for load balancing and failovers.

20 years ago I would have written a web crawler trying every possible character and letting it run repeatedly. Either they are smart this time or they might be changing PVB to something different, could keep PVB and add something for IT, and the list is endless. I even tried a programmer trick of abc for versioning, but no luck. Sounds like we will know tomorrow thanks to @Sandisw information. 🎆🎇

The CDN hostnames are a red herring. It used to be more common to see this kind of subdomaining as a way to allow browsers to download more images simultaneously (modern protocols with multiplexing have largely replaced that). They point at the exact same place.

The filenames appear to change in format in a way that suggests this is just copying whatever the person named it on their computer, and it's not named by any technical process so I am not expecting us to be able to predict the filename that will ultimately arrive. Waiting for the public announcement with the rest of you.

Yes. 100% agree. This is also true of the POS documents and inserts and virtually everything else. They don’t always even use the same three letter acronyms (TLAs for short).

It makes just basic fact finding infuriating.

Thanks for trying!!

I wonder if others, like myself, are just watching the Poly thread now for the excitement others have - we would probably not add Poly points regardless of the price (not anti-Poly, but have other resort favorites).

It's like waiting for a horse race to start when you don't care who wins. And for once, I'm not concerned we'll get caught up in the FOMO. I swear Disney used that "one time too many" with us and now when we get too pumped it's like a red flag NOT to buy anything ;)

Someone one FB said this. "Word on the street is more info about Poly Tower is to come out tomorrow"

Don't question the messenger.. no clue what he is talking about.

I’m not buying. But I’m super interested for sure.

I do hope to be visiting eventually.

I think I’m buying… so I do have a horse in the race, but I’m also confident that these points, although there will be a mad rush for them to begin, will hang around for a few years. On that basis I am going to put my patient pants on and wait for a while after sales start. My main reason is that I want some direct points but RIV, AUL, VDH and CFW have been ruled out for me. I was too new to DVC to take the plunge last year during the VGF sale (regret that now).

I rather wished I'd picked up a larger VGF when it was highly discounted too but would have needed more of the family onboard with the amount to spend. I almost grabbed a small contract just before they quit selling but felt the prices had gotten silly at $230/point. For the fun of it, I checked the recorder's site and VERY few people actually purchased once it hit that high number (and even those might have had incentives which did not show on the tax record). Disney sold a LOT when they discounted VGF, so if you like Poly you might do as well there, and have a favorable point chart to go with it. It seems almost every time I think I missed a good deal at DVC, a better deal turns up. Hang in there!!
