Just an FYI, cross-posting from the resorts board Poly thread courtesy of @EpcotPhoenician... not totally sure when these went up but construction walls are in place around the Poly DVC preview room in the Great Ceremonial House.... https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...t-information-questions.3844688/post-65648092
I was there this week, and saw the work crew installing the walls on Friday morning, just before 7AM. I imagine they want to touch it up to start up active sales.

Eh, I'll shoot my shot and do a ful points chart...

Here's a how a points chart could look like by borrowing patterns from other resorts (VDH, VGF, and RIV) about the new rooms:

Blue are new, and my guesses. Black text is existing PVB points chart. For the most part, the above points chart matches my guesses for pts/wk in the quoted post above, except for TPV Deluxe Studio, which I shaded up a bit in the granular points chart.

I did a similar exercise, though I was lazy and only did per-week estimates. I also didn't do the penthouses (I did this a while ago, I think before they announced the room type.)

We're in the same basic ballpark, though in general I price the Standard/Preferred views higher than you do, and price the TPV view lower. We'll see how much of a premium they end up attaching to that!

We rode past tonight and saw quite a few people actively working inside the rooms, mainly assembling the kitchen cabinets. They were obviously not working outside (the pool area looked like a giant sinkhole after all the rain!) but it was fun to see all the active progress.

A bunch of people on the monorail with us were riding it just to see the construction. Excitement is high!

Hi all whilst we’re still waiting for updates and particularly points info to be released, something I’d welcome input on - hopefully this is allowed and here, admin please of course move or delete if not.

I’m currently planning a trip in April and own at the village and SSR. I’m hoping to complete a poly booking but using borrowed ssr points to save poly to use in 2026. There’s definitely no way of securing the booking with borrowed poly points and then replacing with borrowed ssr at 7 months is there without effectively losing those poly points for use in 2026?

There’s good availability for our dates so I can wait it out but it would give peace of mind if I could arrange.

Thanks!

No. If you book within the home resort period you’d have to cancel the reservation entirely and then rebook at 7 months with your SSR points. The system will lock out your SSR points if you try to modify it and use points that don’t have home resort priority.

If what you said could be done, there would be no point in having home resort priority and I would own Beach Club and VGC and swap them with SSR points 😂

This does get frustrating though. I completely understand the reasoning behind the system being programmed that way, but if the room is available at 7 months I think the system should be "smart enough" to recognize that and allow any points to be used, modified, etc. But we are talking about Disney (and worse DVC) IT here. 8-)

If it’s available at 7 months then why wouldn’t you just book with your SSR points at that time?

It will allow that…you just have to call MS to do it for you because they lock the contract for home resort.

If the contract didn’t stay locked, then the window would be essentially bypassed. By MS being the only one capable, it ensures that it’s a different room still there.

To do it on your own, which is what I do, is simply book the nights with my other points and then cancel out the nights with home resort.

I didn't know that changed. Last time I tried that (albeit 2 years ago or so), MS told me a had to book with outside points and then cancel the original. They said they weren't able to modify it that way since the home resort points were locked.

And I understand this can be done easily on your own as mentioned. But to me, I think the system should recognize when it's within the 7 month period and "unlock" the home resort points when modifying. Because at that point, it's no longer within the home resort period.

Thanks all, ordinarily wouldn’t be too much of a problem but borrowing points is complicating it and I want to save the poly points for a future trip if possible to then use home resort priority.

Kinda sticks out like a sore thumb don’t it…

I was there last week and I honestly kept going back and forth. Sometimes I would see it and get really annoyed, and from other perspectives I'd see it and thing, that honestly doesn't look too bad.

As somebody who is filled with an unhealthy level of visceral anger every time I see the SWolphin looming over the horizon, I was surprised that it didn't bother me more. The sightlines from the ground aren't as bad as I feared. And I hope it'll look better when finished, without construction equipment lying around, etc.

By no means do I think it's an aesthetic improvement to the property, but having seen it in person I no longer feel like it will totally ruin the aesthetic either. A minor visual downgrade, in exchange for a bunch more rooms, hopefully a fitness center and restaurant... maybe I can live with that trade-off.
