Island Hopping: A Highly Inappropriate TR. (Boom.)-- Link to NEW TR! 10/8

I had been waiting on that Lapu Lapu for years! It was great...too small, but you can only fit what you can fit in a pineapple!
In September, we're starting out at AoA, then switching for Thursday-Sunday to Contemporary. WHere will you be?
OMG. THIS IS HAPPENING!!!!!!!

Ah!! You guys are gonna love AoA!! Are you doing a suite or the LM rooms?! AH! AoA was one of the most "Disney" resorts I've ever stayed at, it was great!! We're staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. It was between that and AoA, but since I'm going with my Mom and one of her friends they chose POFQ, which is what I wanted anyways, NEW RESORT!!

EEEKK SO EXCITED!!!!

Yeah, I'm thirty years old. I have no idea how I got hooked on this show or how I even know about it. It's sad, really. /
No judgement here! I am 40, addicted to the Golden Girls and have a crush on 1970's era Roy Clark! ;)

So funny that you love Magnum P.I.! I am old enough to have watched the show when it was a weekly series. Still love me some Tom Selleck!:thumbsup2
I want one of those shirts now!
I am planning to visit the Poly on this trip, tho I cant afford to stay there:( It looks absolutely beautiful.
Keep up with the good work on your TR; I am hooked!

I am going to be posting my days for everyone soon. (I know I already sent them to you :thumbsup2 .) We should plan a flippin' massive meet!

Ahhh a massive meet sounds spectacular. I've been trying to figure out how to reply all to Katt's message but my iPad and I seem to be having a disconnect when it comes to what I think it should so and what it actually does. So I'm just gonna post it here!

We will be there September 10-21 staying at Pop!
10: arrival and DTD
11: DHS
12: AK/ hop to MK
13: MK/ hop to DHS

15: off day if we switch 14 to waterpark

20: HHN at Universal

Ah I'm so excited that you guys stayed at the Polynesian! And kinda jealous but I'm gonna try to stick to excited cause that's nicer.

The girls' dresses are so cute! I don't know anything about the Magnum PI reference but that's totally cute that you guys made the shirts.

I'm really glad you guys liked having dinner at Ohana and watching Wishes from the beach cause were planning to do it in September! I switched our dining reservations last week so I'm pretty excited it worked out!

'Ohana is so so much fun! We went last year and have an ADR for our trip this year too. Last year I came down with some variation of the plague and was so sick for our 'Ohana reservation (really I was getting a cold and felt gross) so I don't think I enjoyed it to its full potential, but it was STILL one of our most fun meals.

And I hate when camera batteries do not last until infinity, because well..it's just plain rude. But, I have to say, sometimes I end up enjoying the experience more because I put the camera down and am just in the moment. You have the memories in your head/heart/wherever you store them, and that is all that matters!

Great update! I've never watched Magnum P.I. but your Island Hoppers shirts were pretty nice :)

So, I finally got around to watching your TR video. My two year old nephew hopped up on the recliner to watch it with me. Before the Ohana/Poly part in the video, he thought it was over and started clapping and said "yay!" Anyway, the video was really good, you did an awesome job with it. I usually get bored about halfway through the other videos I've watched to watch, but we stayed with yours until the end. Your family really is too cute!

I'm so glad that you guys enjoyed 'Ohana! We absolutely loved it there, and can't wait to go back.

I'm eager to hear what you thought of your stay at the Poly since it's been at the top of my deluxe list for a few years now. :goodvibes

I read your update a few days ago but I haven't found the time to respond... BUT HERE I AM NOW! WOO.

The Poly is so pretty! I'm excited to see how your stay there goes! I love visiting and walking around the resort; it's truly gorgeous. And hi, Lapu Lapu! If we ever eat at Ohana, I am totally getting one of those, darn it. It just looks amazing!

I LOVE the whole thing about your t-shirts and your TR title! I had a major crush on Tom Selleck as Magnum PI, so there's that. I approve of those shirts... not that you were looking for my approval or anything.

Man, even though you didn't post photos, this made me really want yummy food from Ohana right now. I need to not read TR updates when I'm hungry.

We love Duffy, so basically this is very good news that Sawyer loves Duffy so much!

That seems like a perfect end to your night. I REALLY want to watch Wishes from the Poly beach at some point! And how amazing is it that you guys got to stay at the Poly the next day? Pretty amazing, if you ask me. :thumbsup2

I am back after a loooooong extended break. Sorrry, I have missed out on so much. I have had the Disney blues since our trip and couldn't make myself get on here.:( I know that sounds weird and crazy but it's true. I am glad to be back now and all caught up. :wave2:

What a wonderful night! The Poly is so beautiful, and 'Ohana is delicious. I love how you spent time on the beach making sand castles and watching fireworks - Disney magic at work there!

I went and re-watched your video because I miss Disney so much. It also reminded me that I want to buy a video camera for when we go next, because I want to film Claudia more than take pictures. I feel you can remember moments better this way, instead of places. I'll obviously be taking pictures as well, but I don't want to miss her reactions to things like rides and characters.

Watching Wishes from the Poly Beach is PERFECTION! I love it so much! I'm glad you guys discovered this hidden gem too. It's great for anyone, but it must have been particularly good for Brynn.

Just came across your TR this morning and loving reading it! Your trip video is awesome!

Seems like you guys had an AWESOME night! I have been to Ohana twice and it is amazing and I totally agree. THE FOOD IS MESSY. But those nice warm towels are so nice when you get them and then they wind up COVERED in sauce from your face. Oh well.

I have read two TRs today that have talked about wishes on the Poly beach and I am DYING to watch them from there. That would be awesome.

I love the update! I have never tried 'ohana, but it is on my must-try list. I love the poly! From the beautiful beach to the lush foliage, it is perfect!

I just found your TR today. It took me all day (off and on) to read it but was able to get all caught up.

Awesome TR... You have a beautiful family!!

We have had two trips like that when you are wearing ponchos and you still get soaking wet.

Can't wait to hear about the Poly!!

Love the Poly pictures! As many times as I have been there, I just watched the torch lighting ceremony for the first time last month. Fireworks from the beach are great - you can see the whole spread across the sky and over the castle, and it's nice for the kids to not have to close their ears from the noise. :thumbsup2

EEEKK SO EXCITED!!!!
We are SO EXCITED!:cool1: We have booked a Finding Nemo suite for a couple of reasons...I'll go into all that when I start my PTR soon (today?). Can't wait!!
And I'll tell you the Port Orleans connection then, too, LOL!
I'm all for new resorts! My dream is to try all of them one day...yep, that means a loooooooot of trips!

Yeah, I'm thirty years old. I have no idea how I got hooked on this show or how I even know about it. It's sad, really. /
No judgement here! I am 40, addicted to the Golden Girls and have a crush on 1970's era Roy Clark! ;)
I love me some Golden Girls, too! Funny story: when I was pregnant with Sawyer, we got boxed sets of The Golden Girls. I was on bed rest for him for quite some time, so I watched them pretty much constantly. When he was born, we'd watch them in the middle of the night when I was up nursing him, just to ease the boredom and keep me awake!
And wouldn't you know that he started not being able to sleep without them!? We finally made him his own room when he was nearly a year old. For the longest time, he only slept in there for naps and still spent nights in our bed. But we had to put a tv in there and play GG quietly in the background as his white noise to get him to nap, and eventually sleep, in there! He was almost two before he'd sleep with only a white noise machine and no Rose and Dorothy!:lmao: :offtopic: <----sorry, other TR readers, for this random look into our loony-bin house.

Isn't he dreamy!! Always has been, always will be! I think he's pretty much what most eighties men wanted to be like, and what eighties women wanted...and, ya know, some later on :rolleyes1 ...
I'm sure we have that shirt design file somewhere! If I can get Brandon to find it (and if it wasn't lost in our last computer crash), I'll send it to you and you can make your own! MPI fans UNITE!:rotfl2:

Ahhh a massive meet sounds spectacular. I've been trying to figure out how to reply all to Katt's message but my iPad and I seem to be having a disconnect when it comes to what I think it should so and what it actually does. So I'm just gonna post it here!

Okay, I just went and changed my days again yesterday, so I'm just going to start a PTR and list my plans there, if they're sticking this time! :rotfl: I just feel like I have so much to tell everybody! I wasn't going to start one until this finished, but obviously that isn't happening right away, so I need to get movin'!

Ah I'm so excited that you guys stayed at the Polynesian! And kinda jealous but I'm gonna try to stick to excited cause that's nicer.

Netflix. You won't be sorry.
YOU WILL LOVE THAT PLAN!!

'Ohana is so so much fun! We went last year and have an ADR for our trip this year too. I wasn't feeling tops and didn't have a huge appetite, so I feel like I missed out on something, too. Plus, I'm not a huge meat eater. But I did enjoy what I ate, and from the reactions of my family, it must be the best place to eat on earth EVER.
I totally agree with the camera thing. And this would happen to us several times this trip, and I have no complaints, really. Especially the last time...but we'll get to that;).

Great update! I've never watched Magnum P.I. but your Island Hoppers shirts were pretty nice :)

NETFLIX IT!!!!
Thanks for watching it! It is really long, but I just couldn't cut out anything else, LOL! When we made it, I wasn't sure anybody but our family would watch, and we don't mind watching ourselves for fifteen minutes :lmao:. I'm just happy other people seem to feel the same!:goodvibes

I'm so glad that you guys enjoyed 'Ohana! We absolutely loved it there, and can't wait to go back.

I'm eager to hear what you thought of your stay at the Poly since it's been at the top of my deluxe list for a few years now. :goodvibes
I know you guys love it, too! And you know we booked our breakfast there pretty much just based on your TR :lovestruc .

I read your update a few days ago but I haven't found the time to respond... BUT HERE I AM NOW! WOO.

We're not typically ones to look for much approval, but I'm still glad you approve of the shirts::yes::!
Our whole family loves Duffy. Julia and Sawyer have their own, and we're making Brynn wait til September to get hers. She's not terribly happy about that, but we think it'll be a bigger deal if she gets it there vs. The Disney Store. But she's totally jealous.
Go to the Poly. You don't have to have an ADR for 'Ohana...just walk up to Tambu Lounge, grab your Lapu Lapu, and head to the beach for Wishes. Heck, I'll make a sacrifice and go with you! You won't regret it.

I am back after a loooooong extended break. Sorrry, I have missed out on so much. I have had the Disney blues since our trip and couldn't make myself get on here.:( I know that sounds weird and crazy but it's true. I am glad to be back now and all caught up. :wave2:
I TOTALLY GET THIS! I do this every single time. EVERY TIME.
I'm glad you're back:goodvibes!

What a wonderful night! The Poly is so beautiful, and 'Ohana is delicious. I love how you spent time on the beach making sand castles and watching fireworks - Disney magic at work there!
You're right, it was absolutely magical. We relaxed and enjoyed every single second. It was perfect!

I loved having the video camera. And our video camera is one where you can be filming and if you feel like there also needs to be a picture, you can tap the "photo" button and it will also take a photo! Of course they aren't as high-quality as Brandon's camera, but I used it several times (I was the video camera holder most of the time). I love hearing their laughs and voices on video. You can't capture that in a picture!
I thought it was the perfect way for Brynn to see it. This was the only time she saw any fireworks this trip, and I'm glad. She does enjoy watching them, but not to the extent of her parents, and I hate to make her ears hurt just for our enjoyment. Here she was able to move around, see them when she wanted, play, and distract herself with other things when her attention span was done. Plus, I think all that sand exercise was good for her legs AND helped tire her out! WIN!:cheer2:

Just came across your TR this morning and loving reading it! Your trip video is awesome!
I'm so glad you're here AND that you took the time to watch our video:goodvibes!! :welcome:

Seems like you guys had an AWESOME night! I have been to Ohana twice and it is amazing and I totally agree. THE FOOD IS MESSY. But those nice warm towels are so nice when you get them and then they wind up COVERED in sauce from your face. Oh well.

I have read two TRs today that have talked about wishes on the Poly beach and I am DYING to watch them from there. That would be awesome.
I loved the towels, but I think my kids loved them even more. They all HATE to be messy (weird? yes.). And they felt so toasty and nice. It made me want to take a shower!:p
It was wonderful to see them from Poly beach. You have to try it!!

I love the update! I have never tried 'ohana, but it is on my must-try list. I love the poly! From the beautiful beach to the lush foliage, it is perfect!
I agree, the Poly is such a perfect resort! More about that in the next update :thumbsup2.

I just found your TR today. It took me all day (off and on) to read it but was able to get all caught up.

Awesome TR... You have a beautiful family!!

We have had two trips like that when you are wearing ponchos and you still get soaking wet.

Can't wait to hear about the Poly!!
WOW! Thanks for reading and for the dedication!! I am honored that you took the time to do that!:flower3: So glad to have you!

Love the Poly pictures! As many times as I have been there, I just watched the torch lighting ceremony for the first time last month. Fireworks from the beach are great - you can see the whole spread across the sky and over the castle, and it's nice for the kids to not have to close their ears from the noise. :thumbsup2
That was probably the best part...that, or not having to be in crowds:crowded:, and instead be digging my toes in sand!:beach:

So...when will that PTR be started?!?! We have a meet to plan!!! LOL!

This trip will be our 1st at 'Ohana for dinner. We had ADRs last trip, but DH and I got into a fight and skipped it, eating instead at ASMo food court....cause you know, that is soooooo comparable!
