Ds is 7 1/2, to be exact, and is an emotional basket case.

Today he called a friend to see if they could play. The friend wasn't home. No one was home at their house. He went into this horrible mood! Wouldn't talk. Wouldn't play. Just made grunting noises and banged around the house. His 2 best girl friends from across the street came over to play. He wouldn't even look at them. They played with younger ds.

Last week, I asked him if he wanted to run errands with me. I told him exactly where I had to go. He said yes, enthusiastically. After the first stop, he went into "the mood". Wouldn't talk, wouldn't say why.

For those of you who know my ds, he never shuts up! He always has something to say and is always "on". This mood thing is very annoying.

So, anyone else have a 7 yo that is moody?

Dh just started to complain about ds that he thinks he just likes being difficult and he has always been happy walking around sing his little heart kind of kid so maybe its a 7yr olds faze they go through.

My DS 8 is like that alot! When I get mad at him, I call him my "daughter" since he's soooooo moody! Anyway, I am thinking that his ADHD contributes to his "moodiness" but I don't know if that's the case in your family. Lord help me somedays! It's a tough job being a parent when all is well, but when ADHD is involved, well it's like Mountain climbing with no equipment! :o

My youngest is 7 and she has gone to the "dark side" :( .

She used to be my most agreeable, go with the flow kid!

I've got a 7.5 year old too. He's moody (he takes after his father ;) . My almost 10-year old is at the phase where he rolls his eyes or "tsks" at everything we say.

Here is what we do. DH and I wait until they are out of earshot and then mimic them. This doesn't help their attitudes, but it sure makes us feel better. ;)

Sorry. Seriously, the younger one really can be moody. Usually his bad moods have something to do with his older brother and the older brother's friends picking on him. Also, I noticed that for a few weeks after school started, they were not themselves. I think it had to do with them adjusting to being back in school.

Is there anything new going on in your son's life right now?

Mishetta-He is adhd which makes everything that much more dramatic. :p

Bichon Barb-DH & I are very good at impressions. ::yes::

Glad to know I'm not alone.........wonder how long this will last?:earseek:

Pembo, my girls went through stages. For about 6 months they would be emotional wrecks and for another 6, they'd be alright. Good luck, I know it's hard to deal with.

My DS will be 9 in November and he is extremely sensitive and moody - a very intense Scorpio! In our house the joke is that we call him Anthony after the character in the Twilight Zone - both in the movie and in the old episode. Remember the kid Anthony who everyone was afraid to say anything bad to him so he wouldn't get mad?? (In the tv episode Anthony was played by Billy Mummy from Lost in Space fame..)

Some days are real tense around here...and now we have DD4 who is oh so dramatic...

JESW, I have a Scorpio too! He'll be 10 on 11/19. He's the eyeroller  . I can only WISH I was as cool as he  . Mr. Social Butterfly Class Clown  . Well, maybe I'll be as smart as him one day.

;)
