Is Wilderness Lodge Worth the Extra $$

Truthfully, we prefer the moderates over the deluxe--especially our moderate as it has the qualities of a deluxe at a lower price. We've stayed Poly and CR and while nice, don't think they are worth the extra money. We've never stayed at the WL and have no desire to do so (we've visited and it is a lovely resort, just not our theme and we didn't care for the attitudes of the CM's we talked to when we asked questions when we considered staying there). And I will say there pool is very, very small compared to some of the moderates.

The pp is correct, once you go deluxe you cant go back. I am going for the second trip to the WL in MAy...........I had taken 7 trips to value prior and one trip to the beach club. Didnt have trouble going back after staying at the BC, but Wl was a whole different story!!

:) I would say UPGRADE if you can! You wont be sorry!
:)

I have to disagree. And this has nothing to do with our not liking the WL. We've stayed at the Poly and the CR on numerous occasions and in between have stayed value (hated it) and moderate. Our resort of choice is a moderate. DH offered me the Poly last September for our 25th anniversary trip--I chose to stay with my moderate.

I haven't stayed at the WL but have to disagree with the concept that once you stay at a deluxe, you can never be happy anywhere else. We have done the deluxe route and the DVC route and still manage to book, stay and enjoy moderates and values after a previous trip at a deluxe or DVC. We jump around trip to trip. I have never one time checked into a mod or value and wished I was at a deluxe. And its actually not even always about money. We enjoy all the resorts and miss the food courts, multiple building layout and theming of the values and mods.

And I have to say, I have found the pools at POR, CSR and CBR to be the best I have stayed at so far(with the exception of SSR which I think has the best pool in WDW that I have used thus far). When we pool hop during our DVC stays we always hop to one of those three and not a deluxe. We did go over to WL's pool one time and I was amazed at how small it was. Lovely, but very small.

I do agree that for some people its very much worth it. But not for all. And its not a "did this once, gotta do it forever" type thing for all of us either.

I do agree that WL is extremely well themed and the location is very nice to the MK. So if those are things that appeal, then by all means go for it and enjoy!

You have been given some great opinions on here. I think it depends on your style of stay at WDW. If you spend any time in your room or at your resort, then yes, it is worth it! WL is so beautiful and the pool is lovely. On property is the best - but when you can upgrade to one of the nicer properties, it really does add to the magic.

Well we decided and we picked CRS, just love the way it looks especially with the new rooms. WL has a beautiful lobby but I wasn't thrilled with the rooms. We will be going the week of November 27th:goodvibes
