Is Whispering Canyon fun at lunch too?

In March we'll be bringing our DS and his family (our DDiL and DS13, DS8, DD8). Among other ADRs, I had booked dinner at Whispering Canyon thinking the kids will enjoy the shenanigans. I just recently changed all our dinners to lunches to give us more flexibility in the afternoons/evenings (they might want to swim at their resort in the afternoon and return to the parks in the evenings without us, for example). The atmosphere and antics at WC at lunch are the same as at dinner, right? I don't want them to miss any fun!

TIA!

I'd make it s point to tell the hostess that you want to be seated in the main area. We've been twice and been stuck out on the "porch" both times with no antics at all. Second time I mentioned that I didn't want to be seated there, but they just blew me off. If they try to stick you out there, be clear you want to be where the action is and (at that price) don't take no for an answer.

We had lunch there 2 years ago and it was a blast. You have to be willing to have the fun. Our waitress asked if we wanted to participate.....and of course we did.

just be careful and not go too late for lunch. When we went there for lunch 2 years ago we were one of only 6 table with people there and it was dead. They did not do any antics or anything. It was good food but kind of just a normal table service meal with none of the fun.

This thread is helpful. We are staying at WL for the first time this year and we want to eat here at least once. Currently have a dinner ADR but considering switching to lunch. Less crowded and less antics actually sounds better for my reserved crowd.

Our ADR is for 1:20 - hope that's not too late! We're coming from Central time, and to make it worse Daylight time starts the morning we arrive in Orlando, so 1:20 will be 11:20 "body time"!

Per my post, maybe you can request to be seated in the back (on the "porch" looking down the hallway to Roaring Forks). They don't seem to do any shenanigans out there and the view is super.

We had a similar experience. We've just walked up for a late breakfast (around 1030) and lunch too (probably 1:30 or so) and shenanigans were non existent.

We were there for an early breakfast so there were only a few tables including ours. The servers were 100% into their antics. I asked for ketchup and my waitress and several others hauled out bottles of ketchup to our table then when another table asked for ketchup, we had to haul it to them. Another waitress was giving another table a hard time because one of them asked if they had scones lol. I do think it depends on the wait staff and also how you respond to them initially.
