We are changing to the BC with this new package...wondering if the pool view is that much better than standard view, or to ask another way how bad is the standard view. We do not spend much time in our rooms usually out late for the last fireworks where ever we can catch them and in the parks after breakfast every day if not at the pool...

any info appreciated

We had a standard room in 2001 & were quite happy with it. Our balcony (we asked for one) overlooked some trees but we could actually see the Epcot Fireworks. Like you, we aren't in our room much and I couldn't justify the extra cost. I know the view is important to a lot of people, but we basically use it to change & sleep. I like a nice resort though ;) and the BC is lovely (but a little too crowded for our liking).

We love the BC - it's our favorite resort. We've stayed there twice, both in water view rooms. Once, the view was spectacular - 2nd floor full balcony. Looked right out at Crescent Lake. The second time it was a water view, but the room was "inset" (if you know what I mean) so the water view was indeed a water view - but kind of a distant water view. I hope this makes sense. My point being not all water views at BC are marvelous. Never stayed in a standard view but we're going the end of May and staying 3 nights at WL and 4 at YC. We've booked a standard view this time. We'll see what happens.

I don't the the water view is worth the extra money, now if they offered a free upgrade, that is another story:) Buy more great food & souvies!!!!!!

It's not extra but be sure to request it if it's important to you...can't hurt to ask...we did & we got one :)

We just returned from our wonderful weekend stay at the BC (5/1-5/4) and had a water view room.
We also checked in at about 1 am so this may have to do with the room we got, but we ended up loving it. We faced the quiet pool closest to Epcot and it was sooo nice just waking up and walking out from your porch to the pool and jacuzzi. We were on the first floor. I would have liked to of faced Crescent lake, but the pool view turned out really nice for us!
I wish I was still there:(

Hope this helps!!!:) :D
