Is TSMM a two seater?

I posted this on the wrong board so re-posting here.... Just planning this out with a family of 5 - are the "cars" for two people? Can I go with DD's 6 & 4 (even if I don't get to "play" which is fine) or is it strictly just two people? If so, I believe that my 8 yo can take the 6 yo and then DH can take DD-4 correct (the age to ride alone is 7???). How does it work for single riders? If DS(8) goes by himself will they put someone else in the car with him? The world was not built for families of 5 It's amazing how we sweat every little detail!!

Each car has four seats - two in front, two in back, with individual lap bars at each seat. I've seen a parent crammed in with two small kids, but it doesn't look comfortable unless one is like, a lap baby or being worn in a carrier.

They don't put a stranger next to a solo rider of any age - or if they ever do, it's never been my experience, in several trips and multiple rides on TSMM.

It is a 2-seater in the front, 2-seater in the back (facing the opposite direction). Sorry, I can't answer your question about the 5th because we are a 2-person family which sucks a lot of the time, but is perfect for the rides at Disney! ;)

I am a solo rider alot and on this ride, I've been put with a stranger several times. Since I'm a in my 50's adult, it was fine.

I don't think they'd do it with children though so you should be ok there.

We are a family of 6 and rode as 3 and 3. The adults could not "play" as there are only 2 guns but that was fine. It was tight so I'd suggest the group of three has the two youngest children. If you do decide to split your 8yo could ride alone but not with your 6yo. Hope that helps xx

We are a family of 7 and my parents always go with us so that makes 9. Disney isn't made for families of 7 either. We have done 3 in one seat before but that was when the now 3 year old was only 1 and 2. This last trip we did 2 2 2 2 1. I think my poor dad was stuck riding by him self every time.

The rule for kids riding by themselves is they must be 7. A teen or kid cannot take a younger child with them on a ride until they are 14. So two 7 year olds could ride alone. But for a 6 year old to go without an adult the other child must be at least 14.

We quickly learned this on our last trip, because I had to ride a few rides I didn't want too because of the ages of my children.

I fit in one row just fine with a 3 year old and a 6 year old.

We did TSM with DD, all in one row when she was 2 without a problem. Much older than that with two adults, it will get cramped.

Thanks for the clarification on the riding solo vs riding with another minor! And I agree, the world was not built for odd number families :) I can ride with the 4 & 6 yo's (they are small girls) and DH can ride with DS!
