Is Tony's really that bad?

Is tony's really that Bad? Should I stick with Spoodles or MM...I was really hoping to have this meal in the MK area.

What about one of the monorail resorts? To keep you near MK?

I've eaten at just about all of those restaurants and Have plans for the Ca Grill, Narcoosees and the GF Cafe on this trip.

I'm thinking I may stick with spoodles. I could catch BWI bus over to the MK

I think you'll get a variety of responses. We went to Tonys in Nov 06 for the first time and we really enjoyed it. We had the basic spaghetti and meatballs, fresh bread (with lots of butter they brought me). It was good. We'd definitely go back.

We loved both Tony's and MM. They both have good food and a nice atmosphere.

I loved the steak I had and my girls loved the kids' pizza.

We have no complaints.

It's someplace that you need to try and decide for yourself. People seem to either love it or hate it. We love it and it's a must do for us personally. But that's our opinion.

We too tried Tony's for the first time in Nov '06 and we really loved it. I loved the spaghetti.

We ate there for the first time in March, and loved it! We had an awesome waiter! The food was delicious. Didn't like the bread, but everything else was wonderful. My kids really enjoyed the food also. None of us got spaghetti though I can't remember what we did get.

We weren't crazy about it. I would prefer to hop on the Monorail and eat at Kona.

TS meals that are actually inside MK don't leave you with many options. We ate at Tony's on our last trip, simply because I wanted to eat one sit down meal at each park.

Overall, I don't think the food was that bad. It's about what you'd find at Olive Garden, or any other "Italian" restaurant chain. The service was friendly, but rushed.

Where the experience really lacked was in how crowded the restuarant was. Even with ADR's, we still waited nearly an hour for a table, and out entire meal was spent in a dining room full of screaming children (but that's one of the joys of WDW, isnt it?).

So, in short, was a mad that I had gone? No. Would I go back? Probably not. If you just want somewhere to eat INSIDE MK, I think this is your best bet.

We have no problems with Tony's. Certainly not to the point that we would feel a need to leave the park rather than eat there.

If you're an Italian restaurant fan, you won't be impressed, but then, you won't be impressed with any Italian restaurant on property. All of the ethnic choices are watered down versions of what you can find elsewhere.

Tony's is still a decent meal and a pretty good value by WDW standards.

I guess it depends on how picky you are about Italian food. Im extremely picky being Italian. It has to be darn good Italian food for me to go out for Italian, since I eat it so often at home. Tony's ranks well below even Olive Garden for me and I really do not like the OG.

I don't understand how WDW can't manage to have one really good Italian restaurant. Or a pizza place for that matter.

Unless its stricly Italian you wanted, why not go to the Plaza? Its MK, and table service - and to me, its usually the island of calm, away from crowds. I highly recomend their soup and club sandwich. Very good kids' meals, as well.

We went in October last year during free dining and we loved it. We are also from an area where there are lots of authentic italian restaurants and we still really like Tony's. I spend time up on the "Hill" in Providence and we liked it so go figure. We sre going again this year but for good morning gathering. The glassed area in the front is really noce.

Do you have a lot of great Italian restaurants where you live? If the answer is YES then SKIP Tony's. I live in a part of the country with sooooooo many excellent Italian restaurants that I could never eat in them all! Tonys was a big disappointment for my family. However, I have been to many parts of the country where Tonys would be much better then the local offerings!

What is "authentic Italian" food? Some of the worst and some of the best, I've had in Italy. American Italina is another thing...

My wife and I always enjoy a meal at Tony's for the atmospere and we like the food. It is pricey, but we still have a meal there every trip to WDW.

You have to try it for yourself. It is difficult to recommend a restaurant because each individual has his/her own tastes.

DD15 and I ate there last week and both had spaghetti. We were disappointed to find they have changed the sauce. We asked about it and found it was changed about a month ago and is the same sauce used at Mama Melrose.

The new sauce contains chunks of tomato which my daughter tried picked around. She pretty much gave up because it was loaded with them. I thought it was okay, but actually prefer the old sauce. Many may find they like the new sauce better.

Bread is served with a tomato-based dipping sauce but you can request butter. It would really be nice if they would heat the bread!

We went in Aug. of 06 and I really wanted to like this place, but I can say without any hesitation it was the worst meal of the trip. Our waiter had a pretty decent personality, but it was all down hill after that. I would equate Tony's to the Olive Garden on a real bad night (not that I have ever been to an olive garden).
