The videos were removed before I saw them but based on everyone's comments I can pretty much guess the behavior.

Sadly it happens at the resorts all the time. I have personally witnessed it and many of my friends that work for Disney witness it on a regular basis.

Hopefully Disney will realize from this, that areas need to be better monitored.

Just seen this thread as people stated videos have been gone for a few hours. Hopefully Disney downloaded copies before the user removed them.


Edit: some one left a comment on his user profile page about have making copies to forward to disney,
in case they did not have them. I am sure Disney probably made copies the second they were made aware of videos.

I'm glad that he decided to document his foolishness and post it online. Disney found out and will probably make some type of change with the way they monitor the ship at night. That helps us when we cruise.

I know that this situation was bad, but what occurred on the videos? They were already taken down when I tried to watch them. Please do not go into graphic details, but if someone could explain (in general) what happened that would be nice. I am sad to read that a teenager, who should know better, decided to be so disrespectful.

As for "having him repay the money", I believe this would be fruitless. His demeanor denotes arrogance, a sense of entitlement, and a total disregard for what this vacation costs and represents to all those people he vandalized. That would mean that somewhere in his upbringing he would have been introduce to the concept of "empathy" and have it take hold. Alas I fear that that seed never sprouted roots. If I had to guess his parents are probably rich, have spoiled this child from the get go. He was probably ignored by parents who thought the best way to ignore both the kid and his outbreaks was to throw money at the problem and make idle threats that never were enforced because that would have meant they would have to be involved with their son and that takes time and energy. This was a child that was ignored which is probably why he craves negative attention from his parents and the lackey with the camera. This child doesn't come from a household that scrimped and saved to give their children a vacation of a lifetime. Children from that household would know the value of a dollar and cherish this rare and wonderful experience.

I'm sorry but I take offense at this. I would guess that you would consider me "rich". I did not grow up that way, trailer park, single parent, etc. My husband grew up quite differently, Ozzie and Harriet, good income, nice vacations, private school. BOTH of us understand the value of a dollar because BOTH of us were taught the value of hard work. This trait does not discriminate between rich and poor and I am offended that because I worked my butt off to become upper class that now my kids are hoodlums who don't get the value of money. Let me tell you I deal with MANY lower class families who have NO concept of the value of hard work and feel they are "owed" something and MANY upper class "privileged" kids who ALSO have no concept of the value of hard work and feel like they are "owed" something. It is the PARENTS who make the difference and rich or poor, somewhere something went wrong.

It's weird. Even though YouTube says that all videos were deleted by user, I can still view them on my Ipad through the Youtube app. Only parts 2 and 6 are on there, but they do play. So if you have an Ipad or maybe an Iphone (I don't know), you may be able to still view parts 2 and 6. The cameraman on part 2 says something prophetic. I'll try to record that snippet and share it.

...I feel badly that the parents have to deal with not being able to trust their children to behave responsibly and maybe lost control of a situation...I feel badly that there could be something else going on in the family dynamic that is causing this kind of acting out...I feel very very badly for the parents of other children and all of the other passengers on the ship who expected their families to come away with happy memories of a lifetime but instead had their personal belongings and personal space messed with. I feel sorry for all of the people who have felt that their personal safety could be at risk. I basically feel badly for everyone involved in some way. It's one big lose-lose situation at the moment and that's not good for anyone...

To me, the whole situation is sad and unneccesary. I hope there is no big, underlying issue in the family and that the whole mess can be sorted out properly and everyone can learn and grow from it. I hope that maybe he can come around and be a happier person. Perhaps it's blind optimism but...I try to see the silver lining.

You are absolutely correct and I'm sorry to have made any generalization that you took to heart.

Please be assured that I am not biased against rich people..some of my best friends are rich (just trying to lighten the mood).

On a serious note, I hope you accept my apology. I have a tendency to go off on a rant from time-to-time but will police my opinions in the future.

I contacted Disney because I wanted to express my concerns about the security aboard the Disney ships. The fact that there are no video cameras monitoring the hallways really makes me nervous. Especially when I think about leaving my luggage outside of my stateroom. This is the reply I received... very generic.

More than being concerned about luggage, I'd be concerned for children who are allowed to venture around unattended. You never know who is onboard. It would be nice to know that if your child, heaven forbid, disappeared at some point, you'd be able to watch the security cameras and spot them somewhere. They may run a program that autosubscribes to anyone who subscribes or comments on one of their videos. Then they expect the subscription to be reciprocated - otherwise after a few days they unsubscribe from you.

I've found the same thing on Twitter. I run a SF news site which posts to Twitter (I'm relatively new to Twitter, the site is over 10 years old), and I follow other people on Twitter that are mostly relevant to the news I post (actors, producers, other news sites, etc.) I don't reciprocate following because the timeline is already clogged enough. I find I get random strange followers who leave just because I don't follow them...today a casino started following me...

I think his parents need to be reading this thread to see that the world does not find him cute and most people feel he needs some serious help. If he is reading this thread maybe he will see that the videos did not make him a hero but made him a zero.

Odd how everyone is backing down at the thought that he or his parents are reading this thread, but were perfectly happy bashing away when they didn't think they were. If you're going to say something, it needs to be the same regardless of who's listening.
