Is this your child?!

I am also shocked to hear that there are no cameras. I can't believe it!!!

How pathetically sad! Really, I ask you, what on earth was the point in that?

The boy certainly has a screw loose, and I hope he realizes soon how much of a moron he is!

I've noticed that this is the top rated comment on that video:
"Hey great video..... loved it so much I thought Disney should have a look. I called them, got the supervisor and they are pulling the manifest to find out who you are and who you were traveling with ( in case you are a minor). Disney in fact can and is as we speak, pull your security photo and that of your moron friend. Good times, right? Expensive ship, hope your rampage was worth it."

I have faith that this will be sorted out by DCL, but it is such a shame that there is something to be sorted out in the first place!

What an absolute disgrace! :sad2:

That kid needs an old fashioned butt whipping.

I was really angry when I watched just the first video. I was even more upset when I saw that the luggage was not kept in a secure area.

After watching all the videos I ended up feeling sorry for the kid. Yes I know inexcusable stuff was done, but I get the feeling that the kid is really lonely and sad inside. I hope he gets help.

This. He is exhibiting classic attention grabbing behavior. He feels like a nobody, and hopes that by doing this stuff and putting it out there, he will become a "celebrity". He probably has a really messed up home life...money doesn't guarantee a happy family...

The videos are currently being removed by the user. I was just watching one and within a minute it was down. I have a feeling DCL has gotten a hold of him.

I'm really disturbed by the fact that there are no security cameras or regular patrols aboard these ships. That surprises me beyond anything.

I absolutely 100% do NOT feel sorry for his parents. His parents should know where he is and what he is doing. He is under 18 and their responsibility.

They could possible be removed by DCL's request. I hope they have copies for evidence either way.

That is what I am wondering. The message does read that it was removed by the user and not You Tube itself. I have a feeling this kid's parents were contacted.

Did anyone notice how scared the girl looked on the elevator? Watch it again....she looked terrified like they were going to do something to her. If I were anywhere near that elevator I would have beat the living crap out of this kid, 17 or not! No teenage girl should feel threatened the way she did on that elevator. If I could curse on this site I would.......the kids is a piece of garbage that will wind up in jail someday.

I could see switching up magnets as a joke.....kids will do that....but a condom on the door? Cmon! Dirtbag!

I noticed the girl. That's exactly what horrifies me the most about this video. Extremly disturbing! Things like this should never happen anywhere, period but it especially bothers me to see that happen in a place I would have deemed safe enough for myself or my daughter to walk around alone in.

I'm glad to see DCL is taking this seriously. Passengers need to feel safe when they are onboard.

How deplorable....I feel bad for the parents. I would make him pay me back all of the money I spent taking him on these trips! That boy needs to learn some respect! I am glad to hear by the previous poster that Disney has recognized that this happened...I just don't understand why you would want to ruin what is meant to be a magical vacation for others...sad.

I'm sorry but I do not quite understand. Do you mean that you feel sorry for for his parents or do you feel sorry for all the parents and people that were affected by his conduct?

His parents MADE THIS CREATURE. He was not an angel yesterday and all of a sudden "poof"...delinquent.

His parents cannot be so brain dead that they did not know that their offspring is a behavior problem. If so, then shame on them...shame on them for not correcting his behavior from an early age. I do not want to hear how they cannot control this big, fat, hooligan now at age 17, where were they "day-in and day-out" when he was 5 - 16?

By the way, where are they when this is going on in the wee hours? I know that Disney provides the atmosphere that screams "trust" but it is obvious that this "THING" is not trust worthy. Something that any parent worth their salt would have realized way before this and kept his rotund backside home instead of rewarding his horrific behavior with a Disney Cruise.

I'm sorry if I am coming across harsh, I mean no disrespect towards you or your family. My anger is in no way shape or form directed your way. I'm sure you would never raise such monsters.

As for "having him repay the money", I believe this would be fruitless. His demeanor denotes arrogance, a sense of entitlement, and a total disregard for what this vacation costs and represents to all those people he vandalized. That would mean that somewhere in his upbringing he would have been introduce to the concept of "empathy" and have it take hold. Alas I fear that that seed never sprouted roots. If I had to guess his parents are probably rich, have spoiled this child from the get go. He was probably ignored by parents who thought the best way to ignore both the kid and his outbreaks was to throw money at the problem and make idle threats that never were enforced because that would have meant they would have to be involved with their son and that takes time and energy. This was a child that was ignored which is probably why he craves negative attention from his parents and the lackey with the camera. This child doesn't come from a household that scrimped and saved to give their children a vacation of a lifetime. Children from that household would know the value of a dollar and cherish this rare and wonderful experience.

The job of a parent is the toughest job in the world. It is a grind day-after-day and I applaud all those out there that do it well. I know that the $1.59 Hallmark card doesn't seem like enough but as a member of the society that will one day be dependent on the members of the sound generation you are raising, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and prey that your children will be empathic and think of others first.

I'll be getting off my soap box now...sorry for my diatribe.

Hi Folks,

I know many have some strong opinions on this topic, but just wanted to remind everyone that we are all human beings with feelings, including this child who made such a terrible mistake. Please keep that in mind as we move forward with the discussion and be respectful of those around you.

:thumbsup2 And his parents have feelings also. We all would like to think that our kids wouldn't do that, but I guarantee that anyone with a teen does not know everything that they do and they have done something that you would not like. To all Disers who had great parents, were you perfect? With that being said, he needs to learn a lesson. With that being said, I saved a couple of these videos to my Ipad.

Posted on you tube a few minutes ago.

"extraboilingice (6 minutes ago) I want everyone to know that I am very sorry for this incident. DCL is one of the best cruise lines in the world and the videos posted were wrong and should never have happened. The content in the videos should never of happened.

In one video some people thought that the one accused was pi***** in the laundry sink. This is highly false. No such action every took place.

To all those offended by the videos, I regaurd my deepest apologies."

I edited one word by replacing some of the letters with asterisks.

 Same thing I say to my daughter -- are you sorry or are you sorry you got caught?

I have been following these threads all day and gotta wonder what happened, if somehow DCL contacted the family or were the posts on youtube made him remove them.

Well, I mean it in many respects. I feel sorry that the parents of these kids who feel the need to act out have spent this money to provide their children with vacations that many of us would be grateful to have and they are not (even if the parents have the money to spend freely). I feel badly that the parents have to deal with not being able to trust their children to behave responsibly and maybe lost control of a situation...I feel badly that there could be something else going on in the family dynamic that is causing this kind of acting out...I feel very very badly for the parents of other children and all of the other passengers on the ship who expected their families to come away with happy memories of a lifetime but instead had their personal belongings and personal space messed with. I feel sorry for all of the people who have felt that their personal safety could be at risk. I basically feel badly for everyone involved in some way. It's one big lose-lose situation at the moment and that's not good for anyone.

I do agree with you, that parenting is a tough tough job (I am not one, and I have no intention on telling someone how to do it). Every child and parent and situation is different and I do not know what their home-life is like. Having me repay the money is what my parents would likely have had me do if I showed a sense of entitlement and lack of respect to others. I would have been working it off with a job and no help from them! My folks were very no-nonsense! I was taught from a very young age that you treat people in the same way that you expect to be treated. It was merely a suggestion and thought, but then again, you're right. I have no idea what their family situation is....whatever it may be, I hope there will be some kind of consequence to set things right. If the parents have been blind to the situation or have chosen to ignore such outbursts, then I hope this will inspire them to perhaps choose another route or approach and maybe everyone can come out of this with a better understanding of one another.

To me, the whole situation is sad and unneccesary. I hope there is no big, underlying issue in the family and that the whole mess can be sorted out properly and everyone can learn and grow from it. I hope that maybe he can come around and be a happier person. Perhaps it's blind optimism but...I try to see the silver lining.

In part 3, approx. 1:43, what was the comment about someone still swimming wishing that they had given him a cigarette? Does it sound like he is claiming to have pushed someone overboard on a previous cruise?

I thought the same thing. I couldn't watch much of any of the videos, just too disturbing.

We were on this cruise along with our 2 kids (DD age 11 and DS age 4). DD spent a bunch of time in the Edge. We told her that after 10pm she had to be in the Edge or with the Edge Counselors as they went up on deck a few times(we checked on her frequently and she was always where she was supposed to be :) ). After 10pm, she was to call us to be picked up. Towards the end of the cruise, she complained "Other kids don't have to be picked up", etc. We insisted, told her that we didn't want her out when there were not a lot of other people out to deter this type of activity. Seeing the terrified look in that girl's eyes made me realize that we had made the right decision. Had we let DD leave on her own, she could have easily ran into these punks as she usually called between 12-1am. I showed her that scene from the elevator and she was thankful that we were looking out for her. I don't think she'll be complaining anymore.
