Is this realistic?

I read this somewhere. Assume:

MK, early May, midweek & not an EE day. Park opens @ 9AM and you're there for the opening.

Supposedly, if you use your FP well, you can cover Buzz Lightyear, Alien Encounter, Space Mountain, Judges Tent, Splash Mountain, BT Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and maybe POTC by 11:30AM.

Do you think this is possible?

In theory -- maybe close, but only if you wear your running shoes and are extremely lucky.

Let's assume that you head for Tomorrowland first. Grab a FP for Buzz and get on SM right away, hit AE, then ride Buzz. By now it's 10:00 if everything is perfect.

Then you head to Toontown and visit the judges tent. Walking there, waiting and visiting will take another 20 minutes. Now, add a little fun to your itinerary by taking the WDW railroad to Frontierland and getting FP for Splash on your way to HM. After you get out, it's 11:00. If it's your FP time, you ride Splash. Otherwise, hit POTC and come back.

Just before you get on Splash, get a FP for BTMRR. It might be good by the time you get off Splash.

I hope you don't ever need to eat or use a restroom!

I agree, it's a bit of a stretch. Alien Encounter could really cause problems. Between the queue wait, pre-show and the actual show, it could easily take 30 mins.

Judge's Tent is also a big unknown. You never know how many might be ahead of you in line by the time you get there.

No, I would give it at least until 1 pm. Why do you need to do all of that in that little bit of time?... there is no time to stop and smell the roses and really appreciate what you are doing.

I was thinking the same thing.

Why do you have to rush through so much? Do you have somewhere to be at a certain time? I like to be efficient with the time we have also, but I don't want to be exhausted & need a nap after only a few hours.

Not only will you be tired but you'll be too stressed. Have fun & enjoy, the rides and attractions aren't going anywhere.

We don't need to rush

As I said, I read it in a guide and my first impression was that it was unrealistic. Having not been to WDW in 15+ years I was getting the opinions of the kind folks here so that I could adjust the times in the guide to something more reasonable.

We'll be in Orlando for 12 days and plan to spread the WD parks over 6 days, maybe 7.

No problem... we just didn't want you going into overload... and certainly didn't want to see someone picking you up off of the pavement when you collapsed in exhaustion!

Sometimes I think these guides are too ambitious and set people up for impossible goals, then the people get mad because they can't do it the way the guide says they should, and it ruins their vacation.

Glad you won't have to rush!

I think you could do it with a little hustle. True, you wont be able to stop for bathroom breaks or a drink or a snack, but who needs them. I am assuming you are an adult with no kids...otherwise no way!!.

I'm planning to do something similar in May. Do Fantasyland with kids at opening (Dumbo; carrousel; peter pan; winnie the pooh) while hubby runs to space mountain. After riding SP he gets all of us FP for buzz, meets us at WTP ride. We do teacups; tomorrowland speedway; Goofy's barnstormer, then Buzz. After that go back to fantasyland to do snow white and its a small world. I plann to be done by 11. Whatta ya think?

By the way...we did this on the friday after thanksgiving (horrible crowds) and were done by 12:30. On a day in early May, I think we'll make it by 11.

Sounds like too much work for me, but we have done a similar thing:

EE morning,
Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, grab FP for Peter Pan, ride carousel, Small World and Snow White, then go ride Peter Pan, then grab FP for Space Mountain, and ride Buzz and Teacups, cut across park, ride Splash Mountain, grab FP for Big Thunder, go back across to Space Mountain, ride it, then back across the park and ride Big Thunder, then it was time to go to Belle's storybook hour. We were outta there by 1 pm. Spent the rest of the day recooperating at DTD while DD played in the fountains!

punkin -- Is your plan for an ee day? If not, I think you have NO chance of completing those rides by 11 a.m. I don't see any way you'll be able to get on and off the speedway that quickly. It is notorious for long, slow-moving lines.

JJS2K3 . . If given the choice of visiting WDW for six days or for seven, I'd definitely opt for seven.

Seven gives you a more leisurely schedule and allows you the luxury of having two days at the MK, two days at EPCOT (you'll actually have time to appreciate World Showcase), a full day at MGM, a day for Animal Kingdom, and a day to "pick up the pieces" or re-do anything you especially loved.

We've done Disney both commando-style and with more leisure time . . . we never realized how much we had missed by rushing from one attraction to the next.

So much of what makes Disney wonderful has nothing to do with the attractions !!

That's about the plan Donna .

The only 'problem' with spending 7 days in the WD parks is there is so much else to do! And we do want to just have a couple of days to lay in the sun and enjoy drinks with little umbrellas in them

We're scheduling 2 days for USO/IOA leaving us 10 to do other things (or nothing).

The parks will probably close relatively early most of the days we're there (5/6-5/18) so we should have plenty of time for nightlife

We'll spend time @ DTD & PI at night.

Our Illuminations cruise leaves from the Boardwalk so we'll spend time there.

Have to spend a day at Typhoon Lagoon or BB.

We'd like to do some resort hopping, checking out the WD resorts (we're staying in DTD).

So we're thinking that 6 days @ the WD Parks should cover it pretty well and leave us time to enjoy some of the non-park excitement and R&R.

You're going to have a wonderful trip!

I too don't think you should rush, but I'll stand by my basic itinerary as a good order to hit those attractions if those are the ones that are most important to you.

Boy, that's the truth. I enjoy doing other things as much as I enjoy the parks.

I think the AE might muck things up LSU - Maybe we'll try and follow that sked sans AE and then do AE on our second day. Or if things go really well ride AE and maybe save the mouse's house.

Since we have so much time it doesn't really matter but I enjoy
comparing park plans and see how they work out in the end.

Of course it's all guesswork at this point. It probably won't be crowded on a Wednesday in early May but.....And if they have any E-Ride nights it'll all be academic
