Is this normal?

Newbie here and staying at the Yacht Club with adult daughter this mid-Sept, so psyched!!!

My question is, is it 'normal' to obsessively change/modify reservations? I expect a flashing screen to come up anytime now alerting me that I've exceeded my change quota-get yourself together lady, lol

We originally were booked into the Grand with the deluxe dining plan and after finding out about Epcot F & W, switched to the YC without Disney dining (daughter and I are huge foodies).

I've shuffled, cancelled and made numerous dining reservations, to the point of ridiculousness, are they going to kick me out of the system? (Kidding... I think)

Is this normal?

LOL! I think you're very excited! I do not believe there are a maximum number of changes. however be careful you don't change too many times where you get lost in what you booked vs. what you really wanted. enjoy! I have been wanting to go back to Epcot for the F&W for years!!

Definitely normal. I'll be tweeking things up until the night before we leave and even, sometimes, they night before an ADR. They won't kick you out of the system, so knock yourself out and enjoy your planning!

I spend months figuring out the perfect schedule for dining and parks. Then all of a sudden I will decide to change AK day with Epcot day and if I do that HS has to change so its not too close to Epcot day.. I really don't know what happens because 3 hours before it was the most perfect schedule ever and now every reservation is messed up. I do this all the time. I purchased my house after one viewing, but don't make me pick between Rose and Crown and Cape May Cafe. It turns into a major life event!

Yes. And you will probably continue to make changes even after you are there.
For F&W, do your research. It is a very large event and more than you can do in 1 day. We now spend 3 days and don't do everthing (but we also do some of the food and wine pairing meals and special tastings).
Enjoy.

Good to hear that I'm not alone in my craziness !

Shelleyfs, rofl about buying a house with one viewing & then ressie choices, SO true!!!

We're actually going to DW for 5 nights, we'll do 1 day in MK, 1/2 day in AK, 1/2 day in DS and the remainder in Epcot with all its foodly lusciousness.

YES, we are very excited!

Yah, well, I think you're crazy...doesn't mean much here though. Place is crawling with it.

I save all my confirmation and cancellation emails from Disney and at last count I had 71 emails for our August trip. We have settled on 11 confirmed ADRs, 2 dessert parties and 1 MNSSHP booked.

So is it normal? Probably not but you are not alone with this issue!
:rotfl2:

IMO, the Deluxe Plan is too many meals during the F&W Festival, but I think you should consider the Quick Service Plan.

You can make out like a bandit at the food booths with your snack credits. They are good for most of the food samples—filet from LeCellier, lobster roll, scallops, etc.

Our last trip, I got up at 3 am here in So Cal to make ADRs and got every single hard-to-get one I wanted. Hooray for me!
By the time we made the trip, we didn't use a single one of those reservations -- our entire plan was changed. Boo on me!!!

Normal to me :thumbsup2::yes:::hyper:

I think it was our 2012 trip...I got up at 5am CT on 180, booked all of my ADRs and by the time our trip rolled around, all of those ADRs had been swapped out for other things over the course of the 6 months. In my defense, the Fantasyland Expansion was opening during our trip and I needed to change a number of things to make up for the only opening I could get at BOG. Still, at least 65% of our days weren't impacted by that...and I still changed stuff around.

We have changed resorts many many times. As for ADRs we changed all the time. We are going in August and I am sure that I will change some more. You will not get kicked off. Enjoy the fun of planning.

This is what happened to me one year, first off trying to book anything at 3 am in the morning for me is Insane, but I will be up Sunday morning or to do it all over again. The planning I do for disney trips is over the top. My friends and family think or know I am crazy when I start planning a trip but it it so nice nice to know I am not alone :duck:

Its common, not sure about normal. ;) I have been doing with my dining ADRs weekly. I can't imagine how nuts I'll be when its FP day. :hyper:
